I love their chocolate Danish, salad, focaccia, and croissants, which have a unique taste that I enjoy. I'm also drawn to their organic options. This time, I bought some frozen items to have at home. However, I couldn't resist and finished them in just two days. The flavor of the wheat, butter, chocolate, and the texture of each ingredient are all so delicious. I also love their cinnamon roll cream. Even though the picture came out blurry, I enjoy the original shapes they offer. I appreciate the care they take to ensure the pastries stay intact in their packaging. In this never-ending era of COVID-19, I hope Monju bakery continues to thrive.

In the basement of Hankyu Department Store, there is a bakery called "Pan Hyakumeiten." It is a small shop with many breads displayed in glass cases, which is hygienic. Tomato & Mozzarella for 230 yen: It is a hard bread with a subtle tomato and mozzarella flavor that adds softness. It is easy to eat. Pain Campagne aux Raisins for 250 yen: This is the most popular bread. Even though it is a quarter size, it has about 7 slices, so it is satisfying. The balance of walnuts, raisins, and rye was good and delicious. The cost of a plastic bag is 3 yen.

The Chausson aux Pommes (Apple Pie) is famous and it was my only choice! The baking of the dough is well done, and the aroma is conveyed properly. There is plenty of apple filling, and the balance between the dough and the filling is good, showing that the air is properly incorporated! Next time, I want to try the Cinnamon Roll.

I purchased a Pan de Segul Berlan. This bread is made with 70% rye, meaning it has a slight acidity but less compared to 100% rye bread. Personally, I preferred the 100% rye bread I bought last time. Next time, I will purchase the 100% rye bread again! They also sell pre-sliced bread, but they will slice it for you on the spot after you purchase a loaf. There is a bakery in the basement of Umeda Hankyu. I bought German bread because they have it. You can choose between 100% rye and 70% rye. The names are different and the shapes are different, so you can tell them apart easily. The German bread with a sour taste and firm texture was delicious! I sliced half of it and took the other half home whole. It is recommended to have the bread sliced at the store because it is hard. The recommended width is 8mm. It's convenient to be able to easily buy German bread at the department store basement. I enjoyed making open sandwiches with olive oil and cheese.

It's located on the basement floor 2 (other bakeries are on the 1st floor). I asked the staff for recommendations and bought 3 items: Campagne au Levain with plenty of walnuts and raisins, which I thought would go well with wine even though I don't drink. The Trois Fromages was the best of the ones I bought this time. It had a strong cheese flavor and was delicious even lightly toasted. The Croissant had a bit less butter than expected, but surprisingly it was light and easy to eat. It was quite big, so I thought it would have been nice to make a sandwich with ham and vegetables. It seems that stores that handle a lot of simple items really have confidence in their dough. While I hesitate to buy a whole large bread, it was appreciated that they offer trial sizes like 1/2 or 1/4.

I bought Croissant aux Amandes, Cream Pan, and Caramel Nuts here. Croissant aux Amandes: 4.2, I prefer Lupuchimek. Cream Pan: 3.2, nothing special. Caramel Nuts: 3.6, delicious. The croissant had a crispy and flaky texture. The juiciness of the butter was subtle, and I quite liked it. The cinnamon roll was quite large, and the balance of sweetness and bitterness was good. The prices were a bit high, but it's nice to indulge in such pastries once in a while.
