TINTIN@呑んだ暮れ
This is my usual lunch routine. I went on an expedition to a ramen shop near JR Morinomiya Station, but it was temporarily closed due to the effects of the coronavirus. As a second choice, I went to Osaka Osho near Osaka Metro Midoribashi Station, but it was also temporarily closed. When I was about to become a lunch refugee, I remembered "Yangtze River Ramen Midoribashi Store". It is located along Chuo Odori, just like the third place I visited. When I arrived at the store, there were no people inside... I'm glad it was open!
The menu offers a variety of noodle and rice dishes, as well as side dishes and sets. The set meals include options like ramen with simmered pork belly and rice, ramen with wonton soup, ramen with mini fried rice, gyoza set meal, and fried chicken set meal.
I ordered the ramen as the rice was not ready yet. The ramen was served in a wide and shallow white bowl, similar to the main store that has closed down. The clear white soup, made from pork and chicken bones, was accompanied by thin noodles, bean sprouts, watercress, and char siu. The soup was light and had a subtle flavor, but it felt slightly lacking in richness. The noodles were thin and provided a refreshing eating experience.
I also tried the curry ramen, which seemed to be an original menu item of the Midoribashi store. It featured a light curry-colored soup made by adding curry powder to the unique white soup of Yangtze River Ramen. The soup contained pork, Chinese cabbage, green vegetables, carrots, and onions, providing a generous amount of vegetables. The curry aroma was enticing, and the combination of the vegetable-filled noodles and curry flavor was satisfying.
Overall, the experience at Yangtze River Ramen was pleasant, with a simple yet flavorful menu that left me feeling satisfied.
