2-5 Nagahama, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City ~ About a 10-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the subway! Located near Nagahama Fish Market. In this area, there is an old-established izakaya that has been around for over 30 years, if not more. I visited for the first time in a long time - and it hasn't changed at all! It's on the first floor of a mixed-use building, with a weathered photo of "Horiemon" welcoming you at the entrance. Inside, there are counter seats, table seats, and tatami table seats, creating a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. With Nagahama Fish Market and Nagahama Ramen nearby, it seems to attract many celebrities and tourists. The menu is written on a whiteboard with recommendations. The highlight here is the "One glass of shochu for 100 yen"! They offer a variety of shochu from all over Kyushu - made from sweet potatoes, barley, rice, etc. - and you can enjoy various shochu with a self-declaration system, which is a fantastic service. Starting with "Isaki sashimi" and "Goma Saba" - the Goma mackerel was not as delicious as expected. The Isaki was decent depending on the size, but it felt average for this time of year. When I asked about squid, I saw small squid swimming in a tank. When I inquired about the price, including tempura, it seemed like it would go up to 5000 yen, which was expensive, so I opted for the menu items with a red circle: "Tako Nira," "Zaru Gyoza," "Seasoned Pig's Feet," and "Ebi Fry." None of them were particularly impressive, and I couldn't recall the excitement of coming here after a long time. This place seems to be a good match for those who want to drink shochu cheaply little by little and for smokers! Therefore, it may not be suitable for families or those with children - it's worth considering if you are visiting as a tourist. Thank you for the meal. Enjoy Gourmet Life ☆
