The perfect way to end a night of drinking is with sushi. This sushi restaurant is located in the new Umeda food street and is a popular spot in Temma. On this day, we went to a karaoke box for a business dinner reflection meeting. After a tequila festival, we went to Harukoma to switch from Western to Japanese flavors. We enjoyed dishes like grilled eel, cold yellowtail, octopus, and sake. Towards the end, we had something like shirako, but my memory starts to get a bit fuzzy around this point. Looking at the photos, it seems we also had beer. As the restaurant closed, the night ended. As we left, my junior colleagues dragged me to another place for one more drink with our coworkers.

Spring Komaki (No account) 9-25 Kakuta-cho, Osaka City, 1F Shin-Umeda Shokudo-gai 1 minute walk from Osaka Station, 1 minute walk from Hankyu Umeda Station 16:00-22:30 (Closed on Sundays and holidays) Ordered menu: - Nigiri (horse mackerel) - Nigiri (sea bream) - Nigiri (needle squid) - Nigiri (shrimp) - Nigiri (amberjack) - Fatty tuna roll - Grilled conger eel - Octopus vinegar Spring Komaki in Temma!! It's not part of the Spring Komaki series... There are even signs posted, and it seems like they often get mistaken for it, to the point where the chef himself says it's a different shop. The small shop has about 14 seats, and it seems to be run by the chef and his wife. Since the prices of each item are not written on the board, it's hard to tell if it's cheap or expensive, but every piece is large, fresh, and incredibly delicious. Personally, I love horse mackerel so much that it changes my previous concept of it. There were many sold-out items on this day, so I definitely want to try the egg appetizer that everyone was ordering next time. Why not visit and check it out for yourself? Thank you for reading until the end. We are introducing recommended shops that you must visit, mainly in Osaka. I ran into an acquaintance at the station and decided to stop by the Nishiumeda Meieki shopping street. Unfortunately, places like the tempura restaurant Matsuba were already closed. So we decided to have sushi instead. We sat at the counter and were served octopus and cucumber vinegar dishes, which were delicious. We also ordered a tuna roll, which was made with tasty tuna. The quality of the sushi at this long-standing restaurant is truly exceptional.

My friend was returning to Tokyo, so we decided to move to Umeda for the third round. We went to "Shunkoma" in the New Umeda Dining District for sushi to finish off the night. We started with a cheers with a glass of draft beer. For starters, we had raw pike conger and swordtip squid sashimi. The pike conger was soft and fluffy, delicious with plum paste. We then switched to lemon shochu highball for drinks and enjoyed conversation and more snacks. Finally, we ended the night with a light sushi selection: Tekkamaki, Kohada, and Uni. The restaurant had about 10 counter seats and had a cozy and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I felt like eating some casual sushi, so I decided to stop by this place. I had ark shell, horse mackerel, sea bream, amberjack, medium fatty tuna, fatty tuna, and octopus. The ark shell was particularly good, and it was impressive to see the chef skillfully shuck the shell right in front of me. The total cost for two people was around 6000 yen. Although the prices were not listed for each item, considering the general prices in this area, we could estimate the cost. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the dining district of Umeda Station. The name here is the same as the one often found in Tenjinbashi-suji, so it can be confusing. The interior of the shop has only counter seats. Prices are not displayed, so it has an old-fashioned style which makes ordering difficult. I started with a bottle of beer, followed by shimesaba. We ordered some light dishes and drank slowly. You can also have shochu or sweet potato soda. We had a light meal and some sushi, spending around 6000 yen for two people. It would have been better if we knew the prices so we could try different sushi and dishes. Nevertheless, the food was delicious.

In a small restaurant with a few counter seats in the dining district, it was a convenient place to enjoy sushi before heading to Tokyo. The first time trying this place, I received white fish and squid, which were not bad, just average. They also seemed to have unique items like shrimp tempura rolls, but I didn't try them. It was nice to be able to easily grab sushi at this place.

I went alone and ordered salmon and eel sushi, miso soup, and steamed sea bream bones for 3000 yen. I thought it was a bit expensive, but when I was about to leave after paying, the elderly lady at the restaurant taught me how to drink the broth from the steamed bones, which made me feel warm inside.

It seems that it has nothing to do with the "Harukoma" in Temma. It's conveniently located near the station, so you can easily drop in, and it's not too expensive and delicious when you suddenly feel like eating sushi.

An old-fashioned sushi restaurant where they brush soy sauce on the sushi. They also have side dishes.

Located in the Shin-Umeda Food Street, this sushi restaurant may look like a casual place at first glance. It was established in 1951. The interior has around 12 seats at the counter, quite cozy and with a nice atmosphere typical of the eateries in this food street. Upon entering, customers are asked if they are smokers, as the restaurant is partially divided into smoking and non-smoking sections. A sign on the wall reads "No relation to Temma no Harukoma." The menu on the blackboard does not list prices. When asked what type of white fish sashimi is available, the owner simply replies "sea bream." The sea bream sashimi was fresh and delicious. I also ordered grilled eel as a side dish. The sushi selection included gizzard shad, amberjack, sea urchin, conger eel, and abalone. The sushi is served with a brush for customers to apply soy sauce themselves. Unfortunately, they had run out of egg sushi, but they kindly offered grilled abalone liver as a substitute. The sushi was well-prepared and flavorful, despite the casual atmosphere. The bill was also reasonable. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

There is a sign stating that the restaurant is not related to the Shunkuma at Tenjinbashi-suji shopping street. The restaurant has an L-shaped counter with a capacity of about 10 people. The owner makes the sushi while his wife and mother serve and wash dishes. They only offer individual menu items, no set meals. When they run out of ingredients, it is marked with a double strike on the menu board. The prices are not all listed, but generally reasonable. I was quite hungry, so I started with nigiri sushi. I forgot to take a photo, but the broiled eel was my favorite. It was delicious! The shrimp was served as one large piece cut into four slices, which was a unique presentation. The sea urchin was okay, but I prefer the seaweed to be crispier. The squid, horse mackerel, and scallops were average. Since we arrived late, the selection of sushi was limited. We had two bottles of beer and a variety of sushi for around 6000 yen for two people. The eel sushi was my favorite. Thank you for the meal.

The toro melts in your mouth and is a must-try! I found out that the popular sushi restaurant "Harukoma" in Temma also has a branch in Shin-Umeda, so I decided to check it out. I went on a weekday evening prepared to wait in line, but surprisingly we were able to get in without waiting. The toro was so marbled and melted in my mouth, it was absolutely delicious. I was a bit worried about the prices, but after eating about 6 plates with another person and having some drinks, the total bill was in the 7000 yen range, which I think is quite reasonable considering how delicious the food was.

I don't go to sushi restaurants often, but I love sushi. The reason I don't go often is simply because I'm on a budget! However, I always end up going to 3 or 4 different places and finish off at a bar, so in the end, it ends up being more expensive than just eating at a sushi restaurant. However, once in a while, I would like to sit at the counter of a cheap sushi restaurant and drink without worrying about the price. In the Shin-Umeda food street, there is a sushi restaurant that seems to fulfill my humble wish! It's called "Harukoma", a sushi restaurant with only a counter. I sat in the middle of the counter and ordered a bottle of Heartland beer (550 yen). I was already quite full, so I asked for some sushi right away. I had sea bream, mackerel, rolled tuna, and scallop. The rolled tuna had a hint of fatty tuna-like richness, which was quite good. I usually prefer tuna with a strong lean meat taste, but this was not bad. The sea bream and mackerel were average, but the scallop was delicious. Overall, it's not anything special, but it's a nice place to casually snack. I hope there are more sushi restaurants with such a low threshold like this one. It cost a total of 3300 yen.

After enjoying some yakitori at Toritaira, we decided to stop by Harukoma for some sushi on our way home. It's located in the same Umeda Food Street area. I initially thought it was a branch of the same-named restaurant in Temma, but it turns out they are not related at all. It's a family-run, cozy little place. When I saw mackerel on the menu board, I asked if they had fresh mackerel, and they said it was lightly marinated. However, when the dish arrived, I was pleasantly surprised! The mackerel was so beautiful - almost like it was raw, with the white flesh being almost transparent and the red flesh shining brightly. I was truly impressed by how fresh it was. This prompted us to order some seared conger eel as well and we started enjoying some shochu. The eel was also delicious, and the quality far surpassed that of other restaurants in Temma. We ended our meal with yellowtail and red snapper nigiri. The prices were reasonable, and we were very pleased with our experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

In the Shin Umeda Food Street, there are three sushi restaurants. Among them, two of them (Akano-ren Sushi, Yoshino Sushi) were visited by the sushi restaurant drinking reviewer the other day. Now, the team wants to complete the sushi restaurant drinking experience by visiting the last one, "Harukoma"! About the restaurant: Harukoma is the largest of the three restaurants, with only counter seats surrounding the kitchen. It is divided into smoking and non-smoking sections, with the right side of the counter being non-smoking. The restaurant is not related to the popular sushi restaurant in Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street, despite having the same name. About the drinks and food: Starting with a sashimi platter, the highlights were the red clam and sea bream. The sea bream had a light but flavorful taste, while the red clam was thick and had a subtle ocean flavor. Other dishes like grilled conger eel and steamed sea bream bones were also delicious. The egg sushi and tuna roll were decent, but the sea urchin had a slightly off-putting taste. To finish off, they had a couple of drinks and some sushi. The bill for two people came to around 1.2 times the price of a 10,000 yen bill. The restaurant offers both warm and cold sake, with Kikumasamune being the preferred choice. Overall, Harukoma offers a good balance of taste and price, while Yoshino Sushi is known for its affordable prices and generous portions, and Akano-ren Sushi stands out for its unique and entertaining owner. Overall, Harukoma is a great choice for a sushi restaurant experience in Shin Umeda Food Street.

I couldn't resist and had ramen in the evening, so I'm not very hungry, but it's the end of the first day of work, so let's toast to my subordinates. After finishing up, I headed to the New Umeda Dining District. I heard that there are many cheap and delicious restaurants gathered here, so I decided to check it out. The dining district had many standing bars and oden shops, making it hard to choose. Most of the shops were full, but we finally found a place called "Harukoma" that could seat three people. The shop had a counter with about 10 seats, and it was divided into smoking and non-smoking sections, although it didn't make much of a difference. It was 8:50 PM, with 6 customers already inside. We sat right at the border between the smoking and non-smoking sections, which was perfect for one of my subordinates who smokes. There was a blackboard in the shop listing the "Today's Specials," and items were crossed off as they ran out. We started with a beer to relax. Our order included tuna sashimi, sea urchin appetizer, amberjack sashimi, conger eel appetizer, live white shrimp, boiled octopus, boiled shrimp, medium fatty tuna, tuna, sea bream, and salmon roe sushi, medium fatty tuna roll, herring roe appetizer, scallop appetizer, and clam soup. The ingredients were fresh, and the amberjack and sea bream were firm and fresh. The chef shared interesting stories and facts about Osaka, making us feel like we were truly in Osaka.

On my day off, I enjoyed a rakugo performance by Shofukutei Seikyo at the Umeda Hankyu Grand Building 26F. Afterwards, my friend N and I went to the dining district in Shin-Umeda. We chose Sushi no Harukoma for our first visit. We started with a toast of draft beer! It's been a while since we visited the 16th Night in Abeno. N had tai and hamachi, while I had tai and maguro to start. The soy sauce on the table is applied with a brush. Delicious! The beautifully colored maguro and the tai with a thin layer of skin were both fantastic. The TV in the restaurant was playing color footage of music shows from the 1960s. I was talking about the songs and singers that appeared with N, who is a bit younger than me. The owner, who had some free time, asked me, "I've been listening to you talk about old singers even though you're so young. How old are you?" I replied, "52. I'll be 53 when my birthday comes around..." The owner and his wife were surprised and said, "Wow, you're so young!!" "You look at least 10 years younger!" "Well, it's because I'm dressed casually on my day off." I didn't feel bad at all (laughs). The Shin-Umeda dining district, a B-class gourmet zone representing Osaka since 1950. The sushi restaurant was founded in 1951 by the current owner's grandfather. The husband and wife, along with the previous owner's wife, and a family of three, run the restaurant. The live shrimp was also delicious. They fried the shrimp heads right after and made a refreshing vinegar dish, but I forgot to take a picture (sweat). The TV monitor was showing Carmen Maki, Maria Anzai, and Blue Triangle Ruler, etc... so nostalgic. Maria Anzai is so cute♡ The owner promised to show me old footage of the Cell Stars on my next visit (laughs).

Today, as a typhoon was approaching, I decided to head straight home. While walking in the underground shopping area in Umeda, I ran into a friend by chance near the Midosuji Exit. We couldn't waste the opportunity given to us by the gods, so we decided to have a quick drink at the New Umeda Dining District. We found a place called Harukoma where we could have a quick drink. The atmosphere inside was calm and different from the Harukoma in Temma. As we looked around the restaurant, we saw a sign on the wall saying "No relation to the Harukoma in Tenjinbashi," which cleared up any confusion. We enjoyed two cups of sake at room temperature and one glass of draft beer. The pike conger with plum paste was delicious, and the sashimi platter with tuna and sea bream was also tasty. The total bill for two people was around 5,000 yen. I would like to come back next time to try their sushi. It's a great place for a meal alone after work or for a chat with a friend.
