I couldn't resist and had ramen in the evening, so I'm not very hungry, but it's the end of the first day of work, so let's toast to my subordinates. After finishing up, I headed to the New Umeda Dining District. I heard that there are many cheap and delicious restaurants gathered here, so I decided to check it out. The dining district had many standing bars and oden shops, making it hard to choose. Most of the shops were full, but we finally found a place called "Harukoma" that could seat three people. The shop had a counter with about 10 seats, and it was divided into smoking and non-smoking sections, although it didn't make much of a difference. It was 8:50 PM, with 6 customers already inside. We sat right at the border between the smoking and non-smoking sections, which was perfect for one of my subordinates who smokes. There was a blackboard in the shop listing the "Today's Specials," and items were crossed off as they ran out. We started with a beer to relax. Our order included tuna sashimi, sea urchin appetizer, amberjack sashimi, conger eel appetizer, live white shrimp, boiled octopus, boiled shrimp, medium fatty tuna, tuna, sea bream, and salmon roe sushi, medium fatty tuna roll, herring roe appetizer, scallop appetizer, and clam soup. The ingredients were fresh, and the amberjack and sea bream were firm and fresh. The chef shared interesting stories and facts about Osaka, making us feel like we were truly in Osaka.
