I was looking for lunch before boarding the Shinkansen and stumbled upon a happy hour deal with cheap prices! The restaurant had plenty of available seats, so I decided to give it a try. The dishes were already reasonably priced, but during happy hour, they were even more affordable. I ordered the assorted skewers set which came with 5 skewers, and they were kind enough to remove the ones I didn't like. The prices for drinks like beer, chu-hai, and highball were all just 290 yen each! - Unlimited Green Peppers: 260 yen Finely chopped green peppers seasoned with salted kelp and sesame oil, topped with crispy spring roll skin. It was delicious, with a nice crunch from the peppers. And all of this for just 260 yen! - Specialty Kawakita Minced Meat: 360 yen It's not just one skewer, but 5 skewers for this price. It's a specialty of the restaurant, and I chose the salt seasoning. It had a hint of garlic and included cartilage, which made it juicy and crispy at the same time. Very high-quality! - Assorted Yakitori (5 skewers): 500 yen This was unbelievably cheap, even cheaper than convenience store prices. The set included liver, gizzard, thigh, breast, and tail. All of them were delicious. Usually, liver and gizzard can be too smelly to eat at some restaurants, but not here. I was satisfied with all of them. - Half-cooked Egg with Salmon Roe: 390 yen This was amazing. I underestimated it. The egg was perfectly half-cooked, not too runny, and the yolk was creamy. The salmon roe added a nice texture, and the flavor was superb. I savored every bite till the end. I will definitely order this again. - Mom's Potato Salad: 480 yen A regular potato salad topped with a half-cooked egg. Mix it up before eating. It was good, but it was surprisingly the most expensive dish I ordered. - Soup Chazuke: 480 yen A creamy chicken broth with chunks of chicken and rice. The chicken was well-seasoned, and when eaten together with the soup and rice, it created a delicious balance. It was quite rich, so it might not be suitable for those looking for a light meal to finish off. With a full stomach for two people and drinks, the total bill came to around 4,000 yen. I was pleasantly surprised!

I chose this restaurant as my second stop for work (I just really felt like eating meat and rice!) and it was also bustling like the shop next door~ (However, it takes time to cook, so if you're in a hurry to catch a bullet train, it might be better to avoid it.) I ordered a bottle of Sapporo Lager beer, tsukune (you can order from two skewers), with sauce and salt, 5 pieces, and mentaiko grilled rice balls (I really wanted to eat this!). It cost around 2700 yen. Unfortunately, the glass wasn't cold (it would have been nice if they served it in a chilled glass to boost the mood). The tsukune was delicious as usual, and the grilled rice balls were solid and finally filled my stomach! The set of five was a good deal, I think. I liked everything. However, both the tsukune and the portion sizes were quite small (at least by my standards...), so I felt it was a bit pricey. If it wasn't a set, you could only get two pieces, which felt limiting. Also, it's understandable that it takes time to cook, but if it takes more than 10 minutes, it would be nice to have an explanation of how long it will take when ordering. I was satisfied because it was delicious and filled me up! Thank you for the meal!

This is a yakitori restaurant inside the Shin-Naniwa Daishokudo at Shin-Osaka Station. It's a great place to have a light drink before boarding the Shinkansen. Happy hour offers not only discounted drinks but also great deals on food. Their specialties include the Kawakita Minchi for 360 yen, a set of 5 yakitori skewers for 500 yen, and seafood yukhoe for 580 yen. During happy hour, draft beer and highballs are only 290 yen. The Kawakita Minchi is a must-try, especially with salt and mustard on the side. The staff are attentive and friendly, making it a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

When I was exploring Shin-Osaka, I originally wanted to visit the neighboring Fujiko-san to try their fish dishes, but they were on break from 14:00 to 16:30. So, I ended up visiting this restaurant next door instead. They have a happy hour from noon until 18:00, with discounted beers and some food items. I had planned on just having a drink, but the food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy, so I ended up staying longer than I intended. The crispy fried yam was a bit salty, but the yakitori and the specialty mince dish were tasty. The staff were efficient and friendly. The fried chicken looked so delicious being cooked right in front of me, so I definitely want to try it next time.

Near Shin-Osaka station, there are many restaurants open from lunchtime! I happened to enter a yakitori restaurant and found a great set menu deal! It included 5 skewers, 2 side dishes, and a drink, I think? That seemed like enough for me. Since I still had time before my Shinkansen train, I ordered a few more dishes. I couldn't resist ordering the ikura (salmon roe) dish. I ended up ordering too much and got really full! The restaurant was casual and easy to enter, with a fairly extensive menu, making it a convenient place to eat.

Located inside Shin-Osaka Station, this convenient restaurant allows you to eat and drink before catching the Shinkansen. The set menu starts at 1,300 yen and includes assorted grilled chicken and a drink. The unlimited green peppers and potato salad were delicious. The tomato cheese wrap was very tasty! The spicy fried yam was incredibly delicious! The chicken nanban was okay, but I decided to order more dishes. I also ordered the chilled tofu with Japanese pepper and the boiled nine-bar leeks, which were refreshing and tasty. Before I knew it, I was full. I boarded the Shinkansen and left Osaka behind.

I visited this restaurant for dinner while waiting for the Shinkansen. I was considering going to Fuji, but decided to try this place next door that I had been curious about. The restaurant has table and counter seats. It was quite crowded on a Sunday evening, but I was able to get a seat without waiting. I ordered items such as chicken skin skewers, fried chicken, and whitebait with ponzu sauce.

This day was a Friday night, so everywhere was packed! I went to Kawakita Shoten. The inside of the shop was crowded, but there were plenty of staff so they noticed me quickly. The highball was a mega size! The salted minced meat seemed to be their specialty, so I ordered it. It had a strong garlic flavor and was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making it a perfect match with alcohol. The potato salad is also recommended. It's a yakitori restaurant that is always bustling with customers coming and going. It's a great place to have a drink and enjoy some delicious food. Thank you for the meal!

I don't have much time, but I want to eat lunch! There is a dining area called "Shin Naniwa Daishokudo" with about 5-6 food and drink shops right outside the gates of Midosuji Line Shin-Osaka Station. Today's lunch will be at Kawakita Shoten! They also have a store in Whity Umeda! The menu is available for dinner as well. The menu has changed slightly since I came right after the opening. I ordered the Kawakita Oyakodon + Chicken Soba for 1,298 yen. I was really hungry, so I went for a carb-heavy meal. The chicken soba has a rich chicken broth that goes well with the thin noodles. The soup is collagen-rich and delicious! The tender chicken thigh meat and crunchy white leeks are simple and good. The Oyakodon was a bit surprising as it is made with minced meat, not the usual chicken and egg. It may take some time to understand as the image of Oyakodon is usually chicken and egg. I noticed that not only me, but also the salaryman next to me was surprised and asked, "Is this Oyakodon?" I'm full! I will work hard to not get sleepy. Thank you for the meal.

This is a yakitori restaurant located in Shin-Osaka Station, in the Shin-Naniwa Food Court on the Midosuji Line. The lunch menu offers delicious chicken and yakitori, starting from a minimum order of 2 skewers. The set menu is priced at over 1000 yen, with the "Chicken Soba" dish available for 968 yen. Prices seem to have increased by about 50 yen in April. In the evening, they serve yakitori, priced around 150 yen per skewer. They also have izakaya-style dishes, with draft beer priced at 460 yen, which is quite reasonable considering the location. The "Chicken Nanban" dish with a mini-sized "Makanaisoro Don" and soup costs 1100 yen. The chicken nanban is crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, with no unpleasant smell. The portion size is a bit small, but the flavors are great. The soup served is rich and tasty, with collagen forming a film when it cools down. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively, with mostly salarymen as customers. The seating consists of small tables and stools, giving a casual vibe. Credit cards and various payment methods are accepted. This place is recommended for those who enjoy well-prepared chicken dishes and yakitori. I would like to visit again in the evening.

The perfect way to end a business trip in Osaka is with a happy hour filled with delicious yakitori and affordable appetizers. Of course, my favorite beer was also reasonably priced, and I couldn't resist getting three refills. This time is truly a great deal, and I look forward to visiting this restaurant again on my next business trip.

I had been interested in this place for a while, but I regret not going earlier! I should have gone sooner! The crispy grilled chicken skin is so delicious - it's irresistible for those who love crispy textures. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side, but the chicken skin is really tasty. The location at Shin-Osaka station is impressive with efficient service. The staff, including the energetic older lady, employees, and part-timers, have great teamwork and handle customers swiftly. They even have Yamazaki whiskey, which is not on the menu. I tried a highball that day and it was great for a light buzz before catching the Shinkansen. The tsukune and grilled chicken were also delicious. I found a great place for a light buzz in front of the Shinkansen station! I will definitely visit again because I love grilled chicken skewers!

Kawanishi Shoten 1/13/2023 (Fri) KUMA Survey (Daily Use) (80☆ Excellent: /60◎ Excellent/50◯ Pass/40△ Minimum Passing Point) (Taste: 60%: Others 40%) ■ Overall rating 51/100 points (Taste: 55 points) Lunch set is above passing line! Delicious yakitori restaurant ■ Store Overview Located in the New Naniwa Dai Shokudo at the Midosuji Line exit of Shin-Osaka Station. The shop is in one corner of the dining hall, surrounded by various dining options, making it a fun place to visit. The store is an open space but divided into counter and table seating areas. The main focus is on chicken dishes, especially yakitori. For lunch, they offer dishes like Chicken Nanban set, Chicken Soba, Oyakodon, and Soboro Don at affordable prices. Today, I ordered the Chicken Soba + Soboro Don set (¥1078), and the taste was decent. In an area crowded with affordable and tasty restaurants, there is room for further improvement. ■ Ordered Dish/Price/Taste/Cost Performance ◯ Chicken Soba + Soboro Don Set (¥1078) △/△ ----------- Brief Evaluation ----------- ■ Usage Scene 4 people (family) ◯, 2 people ◯, 1 person ◯, Banquet -, Business -, Date - ■ Good Points/Improvement Points ■ Store Atmosphere/Service 50/100 points 10pt ◯ The style of having the store in one corner of the space is neat and clean. They also have proper measures in place for infection prevention. ◯ The service is average, neither good nor bad. They have counter seats suitable for individuals and can accommodate up to four people comfortably for a drinking party. * Since there are many individuals dining, it might be better to have partitions at the counter on a per-person basis during lunchtime. ■ Detailed Dish Evaluation 55/100 points 33pt ◯ Chicken Soba - The hot and light soup with condensed chicken flavor, and firm thin noodles. The soup is good for drinking on its own, but if served as ramen, it could use a bit more saltiness. The topping chicken is also light, lacking in flavor, so improvement is expected. ◯ Soboro Don - Despite being labeled as "mini," it is quite large, about 70% of a regular size. The taste is good, with plenty of minced meat, making it very delicious. The rice with sauce is also good. ■ Cost Evaluation 40/100 points 8pt The set is decent, but the individual prices are on the higher side (Chicken Soba alone ¥858). The price for yakitori at night is close to the Osaka average (¥167), and the beer price (¥539 for a medium bottle) is reasonable, so it might be a good option for dinner. * It might be challenging cost-wise to have a staff of 5 during lunchtime, 3 should be enough. (Consider focusing on set meals instead of yakitori during lunch hours)

We visited this restaurant with three people after a study session on the way back from work in Shin-Osaka. It was about 50% full before 5:30 p.m. It is a branch of a dango shop in Sannomiya. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., there is a happy hour where some dishes are discounted. The menu included spicy fried yam, Kawakita minced meat skewers (salt x 5, sauce x 5), 10-item salad, avocado and chicken salad, tama himo, chicken thigh with leeks, homemade tartar chicken nanban, edamame, 5 draft beers, and 9 highballs. The taste was quite average. Since it is close to Shin-Osaka Station, there were many office workers. Many people were dining alone, making it a good place for a quick drink!

I had a light lunch and drinks starting at 3:00 PM. The total bill was 6,226 yen (tax included). I had a Kirin Ichiban Shibori draft beer for 390 yen, a yuzu and sansho pepper sour for 480 yen, two glasses of draft beer for 1,180 yen, thick fried tofu for 460 yen, unlimited green peppers for 280 yen, buttered eringi mushrooms for 320 yen, liver with sauce for 260 yen, shiitake mushroom skewers for 240 yen, onion skewers for 260 yen, hormone skewers for 300 yen, salted chicken thigh with leeks for 280 yen, and two pieces of fried chicken for 460 yen. The thick fried tofu had a crispy outer layer and a fluffy inside, definitely worth trying. The size of the yakitori was just right.

I went on a trip to Shin-Osaka because I heard they serve delicious chicken dishes. There were a few restaurants to choose from, but I decided on this one because it was lively with salarymen. I sat at the counter, ordered the chicken nanban with mince chicken and chicken ramen. The ramen had straight thin noodles with a refreshing soup that was surprisingly light and delicious. The chicken pieces on top were tender and had a slight sweetness to them. The tartar sauce with the nanban was a perfect match for the chicken. I didn't expect much from a station restaurant, but I definitely want to come back next time, maybe for drinks too!

Tonight's solo drinking spot is the "Kawakita Shoten Shin-Osaka Branch" near the ticket gates of Shin-Osaka Station on the Midosuji Line. This place has cheap and delicious options, so I chose this restaurant this time. It's always crowded, but luckily there was a seat available at the counter. During Happy Hour (2-6pm), you can drink at a great price. First, I toasted with a draft beer! The price of 290 yen per glass (excluding tax) is unbelievably cheap. For snacks, I ordered the famous "Kawakita Minchi (5 pieces)" and the "Seared Mackerel." The Kawakita Minchi is so delicious and goes well with beer. And 5 pieces for 360 yen is such a great deal! The second glass was a highball. I added the "Unlimited Green Peppers" as a snack. I love this kind of dish, but it's a bit salty, so I couldn't eat an unlimited amount. I feel like having some refreshing yakitori. I ordered the "Plum Chicken Breast" and the "Ceseri Shiso Roll." I really like the plum and shiso flavors! And they are light, so I don't feel guilty. I enjoyed a quick solo drink at a cheap and delicious restaurant. Thank you for the meal! In Osaka Station, there is a restaurant called Shin Naniwa Daishokudo! I thought, "Oh, this minced salt skewer looks like something I would like," and decided to try it out. Well, it turned out to be quite different from what I usually enjoy at my favorite restaurants. I ended up chatting with Harry, who was on a business trip from Hiroshima, while eating and drinking. After trying out some of the notable dishes, I finished up and moved on to the next place. It was quite affordable though. Thanks for the meal!

It was the weekend, so we had to wait a little outside before entering the crowded restaurant. The staff were very attentive and the service inside was excellent. We ordered a grilled set which included 5 skewers, 2 small side dishes, and 1 drink. The small dishes were nicely prepared, and I especially enjoyed the potato salad. The chicken marinated in vinegar was also delicious and went well with the beer I ordered. I recommend getting the mega size beer as the regular size is a bit small. The main skewers were at the level of an izakaya (Japanese pub) rather than a yakitori (grilled chicken) specialty shop, but they were still quite tasty.

On Friday at 12:30, I went to "Kawakita Shoten" inside "Shin-Naniwa Daishokudo" in Shin-Osaka. I ordered the set meal menu item "Makanai Soboro Don (with soup) for 748 yen. It arrived in 7 minutes. I took a sip of the soup. Delicious. The rich soup has a strong flavor of chicken and oil. When you add noodles to it, you get a tasty ramen. I took a bite of the "Makanai Soboro Don". Delicious. The chicken soboro with the crunchy texture of cartilage, and the well-balanced sweet and savory sauce. The cartilage adds an accent to prevent getting tired of just the soboro. There is plenty of soboro, enough to satisfy even a man's appetite. There is a small quail egg on top, and when you crush it, it adds a slightly mellow taste. Since it's primarily a yakitori restaurant, next time I'd like to come back in the evening after a business trip to have a drink and eat yakitori. Thank you for the meal.
