Just near Universal Studios Japan, in Universal City, there is a ramen restaurant. While there are many dining options in Universal City, this is the only ramen specialty shop in the area. Menu (tax included): Fushin Raijin Ramen - Soy Sauce 990 yen, Miso 1030 yen, Chashu Men - Soy Sauce 1155 yen, Miso 1191 yen, Kimchi Ramen - Soy Sauce 1024 yen, Miso 1064 yen, and more. Ramen, Fried Rice Set - Soy Sauce 1210 yen, Miso 1250 yen. Ramen, Tianjin Rice Set - Soy Sauce 1210 yen, Miso 1250 yen, etc. This time, I decided on the Tianjin Rice set after debating between the Fried Rice set and the Tianjin Rice set. Fushin Raijin Ramen Tianjin Rice Set - Soy Sauce 1210 yen. The soup has a strong soy sauce flavor with a good amount of saltiness. The pork bone taste is not very strong, making it easy for children to eat. The noodles are medium-thick and straight, lifting the soup well. I personally prefer thinner noodles for pork bone ramen. The chashu is thinly sliced with a good amount of fat and a nice length. Takoyaki Ramen is a ramen with takoyaki (octopus balls) in it. I wouldn't normally order this at a regular ramen shop, but since it's a specialty of Osaka, I decided to try it. The soup is similar to the Fushin Raijin Ramen, and the takoyaki is crispy at first but softens when soaked in the soup, giving it a different texture. Overall, the ramen has a light tonkotsu (pork bone) flavor, typical of a ramen chain restaurant, with a consistent taste. Being so close to Universal Studios Japan, the prices are higher, but it's still cheaper than eating inside the park. It's not too crowded if you go outside of peak hours, so it's convenient. The takoyaki ramen may look good for social media, but if you want to eat takoyaki, I'd recommend going to the takoyaki park downstairs.
