Last year, I missed out on trying the limited-time Hiyakake at Dampira, which I had never eaten before. The Hiyakake is 600 yen when ordered alone, and 880 yen when ordered with Toriten or Chilled Katsu Chazuke. I ordered the set with Chilled Katsu Chazuke. The broth was a rich Iriko broth with a hint of sweetness from bonito flakes, it was cold and delicious. The udon noodles were chewy with a great texture. The Chilled Katsu Chazuke in the set had tender meat with a crispy coating, it was also delicious. I thought about getting the Toriten next time, but the Chilled Katsu Chazuke was so good. Thank you for the meal.

During a break from work, I went to eat a set meal of Tempura Donburi (tax included 1199 yen) and Mini Yama-kake Udon (tax included 330 yen). The Tempura Donburi had a crispy coating, with the sweetness of the vegetables still intact and cooked perfectly. Inside the Tempura Donburi were two large prawns, shiso leaves, eggplant, and pumpkin. The taste of the Tempura Donburi was like the usual Tempura Donburi, simply delicious. The udon was extremely delicious. It was not in a square shape but in a thin kishimen shape, with the noodles slightly twisted, allowing the tororo (grated yam) to mix well. The udon itself was delicious! It was aged udon.

I visited the restaurant for the first time before noon on a weekday by car. It was raining, so we were able to sit down smoothly without waiting. The specialties seem to be curry udon and chicken tempura udon, but we ordered the mountain-style raw soy sauce udon with a mini pork cutlet bowl set, and the mixed tempura udon with a mini beef bowl set. The udon was boiled after taking the order, so it had a good texture and was really delicious. It seems to have been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on Tabelog. The only downside was that the beef bowl was a bit too sweet and the prices were a bit high. Nevertheless, the portions were generous and it was delicious.

I had some business around Gotenyama and Makino, so I decided to do some research on popular restaurants in the area while walking to the station. I heard there was a famous restaurant with a long line, but to my surprise, I only had to wait about 15 minutes as there were only 4 groups ahead of me. I decided to try their popular dish, the curry udon with tempura topped with a soft-boiled egg. The tempura was surprisingly large and tender, it could be a meal on its own. They also served rice as a complimentary side, which was a nice touch. The curry udon was delicious as well. I was impressed by the size of the tempura! I left the restaurant feeling very full. The soft-boiled egg didn't have much of a presence, but overall, it was a great experience. Truly deserving of being called a famous restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

I've been curious about this place for a while, so I decided to try the recommended dish, Chicken Tempura Curry Udon. It's my rule to always try the specialty of a restaurant when I first visit. The interior of the restaurant has a folk style decor. I went on a Sunday before 6 pm and had to wait for about 15 people as the evening session starts at 6 pm. The restaurant is spacious, so I was able to get a seat right at the opening. The curry udon came with a side of white rice. The noodles were smooth and suited the curry well, although they lacked firmness. The soup was a mix of Japanese and Western curry flavors, which was the secret to its popularity. The curry had a nice seasoning with beef in it, which added to the flavor. The chicken tempura was crispy and generous in portion, making it a satisfying meal. I recommend mixing the leftover rice into the curry udon to enjoy it as a curry rice dish. I will definitely revisit this restaurant, and it is also known as the best udon shop in Kohoku. It's a great place, and I recommend trying the curry udon with rice.

On Saturday around 11 am, the restaurant was crowded with families. We ordered three dishes for two people: Niku Wakame Udon Set (with mini Katsudon), Chiku Tamaten Bukkake (cold), and Curry Udon. The noodles here are definitely tastier when cold! However, when I squeezed lemon on it, the udon was completely dominated by the lemon flavor. I wonder if it's a sign that they use good quality lemons. Noodle lovers should be cautious when adding lemon. The warm udon had a delicious broth made with bonito and kelp, which soaked into the noodles nicely. The katsu in the Katsudon was very tender and not greasy at all. The Curry Udon had a flavorful broth, but the noodles were a bit soft.

I visited for lunch on a weekday. There are a few parking spaces next to the restaurant. It was my first time coming for lunch, I ordered the Chicken Tempura Curry Udon for 1,221 yen including tax. With the weekday lunch special, rice is free. The shredded green onions were delicious, the fried tofu was tasty, and the beef was sweet and savory. Of course, the three pieces of chicken tempura were also delicious. The udon noodles were soft and tasty, and the curry had a rich flavor. Everything was great, I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant around 2 pm on the 12th (Saturday). Luckily, there was an empty parking spot next to the store. There were about 5 groups waiting, but surprisingly the turnover was fast, and we were seated in about 15 minutes. We were asked for our order while waiting inside the store, and our food was served quickly after we sat down. I ordered the curry udon with warm boiled egg and tempura, while my wife ordered the cold udon with tempura and plum sauce. I was surprised by the size of the tempura... The noodles in the curry udon didn't have much chewiness, but the ones in the cold udon had a good texture, making it more delicious. The curry udon was tasty, but I felt the noodles were a bit soft due to being simmered. Dipping the tempura in the curry broth made it irresistible. Just be careful because it's very hot. The sweet beef and shredded green onions were also delicious. I let the warm boiled egg swim in the broth along with a small bowl of rice until the end. It stayed hot until the end, and I finished the curry udon and tempura. As a finishing touch, I poured plenty of curry broth over the rice with the warm boiled egg on top. My wife couldn't finish her cold udon with tempura, so I helped her out. The tempura was really big, so I was full... *By the way, it seems that the prices will increase from August 22nd...

We went with three people. The curry udon seems to be a specialty dish. It was quite filling and we couldn't finish it. Sorry about that. The chicken tempura was incredibly tender! How did they achieve that? Highly recommended. The broth had a refined flavor that paired well with the curry. The set meal's pork cutlet was also tender and fluffy.

"Popular udon restaurant 'Handmade Udon Danpei' located along Prefectural Route 13 in Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture. Opened in 1985, selected as one of the top 100 udon restaurants on Tabelog in 2020 and 2022, it is a popular restaurant with long queues. I tried the 'Chikudama Tempura Udon (cold) with 2 pieces of chicken tempura' for 1,232 yen (tax included). The noodles are made from a blend of the highest quality wheat flour from Hokkaido and Kyushu, using 100% domestic ingredients. They are kneaded with salt water using natural salt, left to rest for a day and night, and then made. The broth is made from four types of natural bonito and high-quality kelp. They combine a secret aged seasoning that has been aged for over a month, without using any chemical seasonings. The noodles have a perfect balance of softness and elasticity, and the huge chicken tempura was also delicious. Thank you for the meal! Detailed review can be found here ↓"

Due to the extreme heat, I had chilled vegetable tempura with grated daikon for the first time in a while. The air conditioning in the restaurant wasn't keeping up with the heat, so I couldn't decide between curry or the usual broth-based options. The chilled udon with vegetable tempura was delicious as always, with juicy tempura and plenty of grated daikon creating a perfect combination. It was quite filling, but refreshing. Thank you for the meal.

It's a hot midsummer day, but I decided to try the number one popular dish and ended up sweating a lot. The "Torichiku Curry" costs 1,155 yen (tax included) and has an amazing volume. It comes with two large pieces of chicken tempura. The curry sauce mixes with the tempura batter and the juicy chicken is very delicious. The volume is impressive with two large pieces. The tempura chicken is so big that it almost overshadows the chikuwa. The udon and curry were also tasty, and I finished off the meal by eating the chikuwa with the curry. I left feeling full.

The curry udon here is delicious, with a perfect balance of curry, chopped tempura, and meat. I especially enjoyed mixing in the small serving of rice at the end. I would love to visit again. There aren't many places to eat around here and it was crowded with customers.

This restaurant is located a short walk from Keihan Gotenyama Station, along the Keihan railway tracks where railway enthusiasts take photos of the curve. It is said to be near the school that the comedy duo Nakagawa family attended. Before being selected as one of the top 100 restaurants, it was a local udon shop, but now it is always crowded with cars coming and going in the parking lot. It's a super popular place. I tried the popular Toriten Curry Udon and Hirekatsu Don. The Toriten was incredibly large and perfectly fried. The person frying it seemed to be efficiently frying based on the customers' orders, resulting in delicious and hot Toriten. The udon was chewy and had an amazing stretchy texture. Due to its popularity, there might be a wait of about 10 groups, which takes about an hour. But if you write your name and go shopping at the supermarket, you'll be seated quickly. The staff is friendly and it's a great udon shop.

I went to a recommended restaurant on Sunday afternoon and waited for about 30 minutes. I had decided to order curry udon, but I had a hard time choosing toppings! I ended up ordering with the amount of toppings shown in the picture. When the dish arrived, the amount of toppings was amazing! It was so much that even someone with a small appetite could share with others. The udon was delicious, and the curry broth was also tasty! The tempura toppings were also delicious! I would like to go again.

Today's lunch specials were the "Torichiku Tempura Curry Udon" for 1,155 yen and the "Mini Hirekatsu Don" for 425 yen, totaling 1,580 yen. The curry udon was sweet and full of flavor, topped with two pieces of chicken tempura and one piece of red snapper tempura, which provided a satisfying bite. The mini hirekatsu don was tender and easy to eat, with a delicious egg topping that had a flavorful broth.

Just before closing time, I managed to slip in for some udon but they were sold out. I ended up having a bowl instead, and it was delicious! I decided to come back for the curry udon I've been wanting to try, and it was worth it. The baby udon being free is amazing. It's a popular spot, so it's lucky if you can find parking!

This is a shop located at 1 Mikuri, Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture. It has a rating of 3.72 and has been named one of the top 100 udon shops for 2 consecutive years. They offer a variety of value sets and the staff, all women, provide excellent hospitality. The aged noodles are delicious. I visited on a Wednesday at around 2:30 pm with my friend, Agent Nabe. We arrived just before the last call for orders. I ordered the Chikudama Bukkake + Hirekatsu Don set, while Agent Nabe ordered the Niku Wakame + Oyakodon set, both priced at 1080 yen. The udon noodles are aged, with a Kansai-style soft texture and a chewy consistency. The rich bukkake broth, along with the grated daikon and ginger condiments, pairs well with the lemon slices for a refreshing taste. The freshly fried chikuwa and egg were crispy and hot. The Hirekatsu was also freshly fried and the thick sauce complemented the half-cooked tamago. It was a great find. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Hello~ During the Golden Week holiday, I went to a volleyball game for kids at a gym in Hirakata. Nearby, there was a popular udon restaurant called "Udonya An'nen" listed on Tabelog. Last year, I tried to go but the line was crazy long so I gave up. Today being a holiday, I arrived a few minutes before their opening at 11:00 am and surprisingly, there was no line! This was my chance! I waited for about 15 minutes and finally got in. I ordered the Chicken Tempura Curry Udon for 1110 yen (tax included). The dish came with three large pieces of chicken tempura, sweet marinated beef, thin fried tofu, and green onions. The curry broth was creamy and mild, but it wasn't the curry flavor I was expecting. I prefer a more robust curry flavor in my curry udon, so this was a bit disappointing. The chicken tempura was delicious though! It was crispy and juicy, and I would love to have it with a beer. The free small serving of rice is only available on weekdays. It was nothing special. Overall, I don't think it's worth waiting in line for this restaurant. It seems like the kind of place that attracts crowds. That's all for now~ Thank you!

On this day, I visited the newly renovated Kyoto Racecourse. But before that, I came here for lunch at "Teuchi Udon Danpei"! This udon restaurant has been featured in media like "Magic Restaurant" and is quite popular with long lines. It's a 5-minute walk from the Goryo-yama Station on the Keihan Electric Railway. On this Saturday, around 12:15, there was a wait for 6 groups of 15 people. After waiting for about 20 minutes, we were seated at the counter. The restaurant has about 35 seats (5 counter seats, 12 table seats, 18 tatami seats). I ordered the "Katsu Curry Udon"! They also offered complimentary rice, so I asked for a small portion of rice. The udon is made from 100% domestically grown wheat (a blend of Hokkaido and Kyushu wheat), which is aged and has a supple texture and firmness. The curry is authentic! This watery curry is quite spicy! It has a rich flavor from the bonito and kelp dashi, with plenty of umami. The toppings include fried items, green onions, onions, sweet beef, and pork cutlet. The pork cutlet was crispy and delicious! I mixed it with the rice and enjoyed it. Finally, I finished the curry soup as well. It was a delicious meal!
