The kin-tsuba introduced in "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai" is made by the nearby confectionery shop Kin-tsuba Honpo. They seem to be particular about the red beans used, but I didn't really like the sweet bean paste. It left me with the impression of being a hefty kin-tsuba. I think I prefer the anpan from Hakata-za, as I prefer the sweet bean paste in that one.

Mitsukoshi's basement food street features a limited-time sales corner where you can find various treats including warabi mochi, but the most famous item is the kintsuba from "Hakataza," which was also featured on the TV show "Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai." I tried both the "normal kintsuba" and the "matcha kintsuba" to take home. They had a nice firm texture and the sweetness was well-balanced, leaving a good impression. However, the matcha flavor was a bit subtle for my taste, as I had expected a stronger taste. I haven't had kintsuba often, so I can't judge if these were good examples, but they would make a nice treat to serve with tea. The kintsuba here is made round instead of the usual square shape, symbolizing wishes for harmony. Priced at 216 yen each, I personally feel they could be a bit cheaper, but that's just my opinion. I would definitely try them again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

At the Hakata-za theater shop, there are various types of PET bottles available, so you can take a break and choose one during intermission.

I had been curious about the kinzame I saw on TV. It was very delicious and well-received as a souvenir!

I ate it at the Kyushu product exhibition. Kin-tsuba with a thin, crispy skin packed with red bean paste. It is heavy and dense. The red bean paste was delicious without being too heavy!

I received the famous Hakataza bento box! It was delicious. (By the way, the bento box in the photo costs 1,000 yen). There are various shops, so it's hard to choose. There was something written as "Hanakeshiki" on the bento box, but I'm not sure if it's the name of the shop. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I went to Hakata-za♪ I felt a bit hesitant to indulge in a luxury treat alone, so I was looking for a reasonable souvenir. That's when I found these Kin-Tsuba! They cost 210 yen each, but the red bean filling is really delicious. (I got to try a sample.) Since I already had a lot of luggage, I asked the shopkeeper if I could just buy one, and they kindly said, "Of course!" The pleasant exchange during shopping like this is truly important. I usually only browse the merchandise corner at Hakata-za and rarely look at the souvenir corner, so I regret not noticing these Kin-Tsuba before. The shop (about the size of a tatami mat, with a carnival stall vibe) is not always in the same location, I was told. Hakata-za's Anpan is also good, but I recommend trying Kin-Tsuba too. I personally think that traditional Japanese sweets somehow go well with watching a play.

At the pop-up store in Nishiarai Station, you can purchase "Kintsuba", a traditional treat made with high-quality Ohtokoshan adzuki beans and crafted with care by artisans. It is a popular item even at theaters, with a special version called "Hakata-za Kintsuba" available only at Hakata-za theater. There are three flavors: regular red bean paste, matcha, and chestnut. The adzuki beans in the paste have a satisfying texture and are delicious!

At the Keikyu Department Store, the Daifuku Fukuoka Exhibition is still ongoing. This is the same warabi mochi that I have tried before, but... M tried a sample and said, "This is the most delicious warabi mochi I've ever had... even though it's my second time." It comes in a black container, so is the warabi mochi black? We sprinkle plenty of kinako on top. The actual color of the warabi mochi is amber. It has a smooth texture and melts deliciously in the mouth. The fragrant kinako brings out the deliciousness of the warabi mochi. The texture is so good that I couldn't stop eating. Today's the most delicious one so far. Let's finish it all. Mmm, delicious.

I went to the Ofukoka exhibition in Kamiooka and got some sweets! I tried the matcha flavor as it was the only one available for sampling, but I still think the regular flavor is better. The warabi mochi was also delicious. I put one kintsuwa in a bag and brought it to share with someone at the parking lot. A princess thought it was mochi when she saw the visual of red bean paste and rice cake, but I corrected her saying it's kintsuba. I gave her a little bit to taste as too much sweetness is not good. I heard that Ma-tsuko likes it, but I don't want to grow too big so I tried it in moderation with everyone for a taste test.

I purchased this at a Mitsukoshi event. I usually don't find kintsuba (sweet bean jelly) very appealing, but I was drawn in by Ma tsuko's "It's very delicious." How much do I love Ma tsuko? (laughs) * Hakata-za Kintsuba (216 yen) was being sold in the refrigerated section, but they also offered it freshly baked for immediate consumption. Of course, I bought the freshly baked one!! It was filled with plenty of sweet bean paste inside a thin skin! Other stores' kintsuba often have a strange texture in the dough, which is a big minus for me, but this one was completely different. Maybe because it was freshly baked... Anyway, it was nothing like the kintsuba I know! It was very delicious (*'ω'*)♪

In Sapporo Mitsukoshi, there was a live demonstration of making Kinbato, a traditional Japanese sweet. I bought a box with 4 pieces for 200 yen each, and also got one for myself at 1080 yen. The filling had condensed sweet red bean paste with a mild sweetness. It seemed like Mitsukoshi's customers prefer traditional Japanese sweets over western ones. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Located inside the Hakataza theater in Fukuoka City, there is a Kin-tsuba specialty store. The Kin-tsuba offered by our store has become a specialty of Hakataza. We are open only during Hakataza performances, and our regular holidays follow the schedule of Hakataza's days off. The Hakataza Kinkane (red bean) is one type of Kin-tsuba provided by our store. While most Kin-tsuba are square-shaped, ours are made in a circular shape, resembling the guard of a sword, to symbolize completeness. They are thick and soft with a very thin crust, baked to perfection. The red bean paste inside is smooth and melts in your mouth, providing a satisfying eating experience.
