Seats are arranged around the order counter. You place your order at the counter, receive a number tag, and then wait for your order. I ordered "Chocolate Terrine" (550 yen) and a "Café Latte (Regular)" (550 yen). You can choose between "Dark Blend" or "Mild Blend" for the coffee beans, and I chose the "Dark Blend". While looking at the books, I waited for my order. It took about 5-6 minutes for the order to be ready. The Chocolate Terrine came with Hokudai milk ice cream. The Chocolate Terrine was rich and bitter, with a smooth texture and a high level of completion. It was also delicious with the ice cream. The Café Latte had a rich espresso with a hint of bitterness and plenty of creamy milk. The Café Latte had a gentle flavor and beautiful latte art on top. I enjoyed it slowly along with the Chocolate Terrine. The baristas were friendly and provided excellent service, which I appreciated. It's a cozy and wonderful café where you can enjoy delicious coffee and cake while spending your time as you please!

We ordered a cafe latte (for my wife) and a salted caramel latte (for myself), both were easy to drink and delicious! We enjoyed our coffee in the spacious and stylish space before leaving the shop.

Near the clock tower, there is a cafe called Poool. From the outside, it looks like a bookstore, but it is actually a stylish cafe where you can also read books. Inside the store, books are sold, but you can also relax and read while enjoying your coffee, similar to Tsutaya Cafe. When you order at the central counter, they give you a numbered receipt to take to the cashier. They prepare your order after you've paid. Their cold brew coffee is delicious. The cafe has sockets, Wi-Fi, and it's a very cozy place where you could end up staying for a while. Highly recommended!

I visited after a long time! I suddenly had a craving for carrot cake! Maybe because I was really hungry, the carrot cake tasted even more delicious than the last time I had it. haha It was really good!! I want to eat this again! I finally found this cafe near Sapporo Station that is open on holidays and not too crowded. I chose to sit at the counter, which had hooks for bags and two outlets for charging phones and laptops. I ordered a Basque cheesecake and a craft lemonade, which came to a total of 1250 yen. The Basque cheesecake came with a slightly bitter sweet lemon jam, and was not too heavy, more on the refreshing side. The cheesecake had no burnt taste and the cheese was light, perfect for a hot day. The craft lemonade, garnished with lemon slices and rosemary, was sweeter than the cake, with a syrupy base. It was enjoyable as well. They don't offer set menus, only individual orders. They allow a 3-hour seating limit on weekends and holidays, which is enough for a casual visit. I had been curious for a while but couldn't make it, so I'm happy to finally come. There were some people working or studying, and some places had a limit of 2 hours on holidays, so I was worried about not being able to find a seat. I went on a weekday and there were quite a few people. I also went to study, and the space was open and comfortable, without feeling crowded. It was a nice place to be. ☺️

Today, I have been using my brain too much and craving sugar, so I was looking for a place with coffee and sweets when I stumbled upon a lovely sign and decided to enter. The interior of the cafe was open and had a clean feel with wooden tables and chairs. Being my first time, I felt a bit nervous. I chose a seat first and then went to the counter to place my order. I ordered a deep roasted espresso and terrine. I was asked, "Are you also into coffee shops?" Maybe because I ordered espresso? I just like deep roasted coffee, that's all, I replied awkwardly. I sat down and waited for my order to be ready. When my number was called, I went back to the counter. Both the espresso and terrine were rich. The refreshing ice cream on the terrine helped balance the depth of the coffee and terrine. They complemented each other perfectly! With my brain satisfied with sugar, I started to doze off. I noticed the logo and asked the handsome guy at the counter, who told me that it was the second branch of Escanfield's espresso cafe "Pool". While the other branch is a takeout-only shop, this one can also be used as a working space. Inside, there were lots of books lined up on the left side, and my companion asked if it was a bookstore. It's actually a cafe! According to Zabi's review, it seems to be like a select shop. I had ordered a Dark Blend Americano at the Escanfield store, so this time I tried the Mild Blend Americano here. It was less bitter and easy to drink, very delicious! As it cooled down, a fruity flavor emerged, making it fresh and tasty! My companion had an "Iced Chocolate Latte" (650 yen), which was not too sweet and had a bitter chocolate taste, very delicious! The background music was quite loud, playing moody and soulful songs by Kate Ranada and Rizo, but everyone seemed to be focused on their work or conversations, enjoying their time freely. But, I decided to go and check it out because you never know until you try, and there was no sign saying "no middle-aged women allowed." So, I went there confidently. The staff at the shop were indeed friendly and easy to talk to, just as others have mentioned. I wanted to try the cheesecake, but it was sold out that day. So, I ordered the chocolate terrine and coffee (Americano, I think). I didn't have high expectations since I couldn't have the cheesecake, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was incredibly delicious! It was the best chocolate cake I've had recently by far. The quality was top-notch. The ice cream was more on the refreshing side, which balanced out the rich chocolate perfectly. I was truly amazed by the taste. The deliciousness was so good that I would want to visit this cafe even without considering the Wi-Fi. The coffee was also great. So, I found out that even as a middle-aged woman, I could go there and enjoy a relaxing time. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal!

Visited Takesato Building 1F for the first time in June 2022. I used to work on the station side of this building 20 years ago. Although the building has been renovated, it brought back memories of my late friend and reviewer "Holy Papa" who had reviewed this place. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and comfortable, with counter seats equipped for charging, making it convenient for smartphone or tablet users. They also have a good selection of books, including design-related ones. I had an "Espresso" for 350 yen, a traditional style espresso served with a side of sweet red bean soup. It is customary to sip it slowly in three mouthfuls. In his hometown, I often saw people sipping their espresso loudly at the counter and leaving in about 30 seconds. I took a break on the sofa for a while. This place offers a much more relaxed atmosphere compared to cafes like Starbucks, with friendly staff and a cozy environment. If you're walking around Sapporo Station area, I highly recommend taking a break at this wonderful cafe.

During my stay in Sapporo, I visited poool, which was located right in front of Cross Hotel where I was staying. The cafe was spacious and had plenty of seats available, especially during early weekdays. The staff asked me how I found out about the cafe, and I couldn't say I saw the high rating on Google Maps, so I just said I was staying nearby. Sorry for half-lying, haha. I had a choice of two types of coffee beans for my latte, and the espresso was rich and delicious! I wanted to try the carrot cake too, but I resisted... When I sat on the shallow sofa seat, I noticed a slight smell, probably due to the ventilation, but I assume other seats are okay. Almost all seats had power outlets, and wifi was available, making it a great cafe for remote work!

The carrot cake I was looking for was a bit lacking in carrot flavor. Personally, I think a little more cinnamon or cumin could add a nice accent. The only downside was that they didn't have decaf coffee and the system of calling out numbers to pick up orders was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere was very nice though! It seems to be a popular style with a lot of young people working on their laptops. The background music was calming as well. It seems like Sapporo is also getting more trendy cafes.
