After finishing the hospital examination that happens once every three months, I always crave for rich food for lunch on that day. I decided to have oil soba, so I went to a nearby restaurant near my workplace. However, when I arrived around 11 am, there was a long line of customers waiting to get in. The familiar pork cutlet rice bowl shop was closed for the summer holidays, so I remembered this ramen shop located in Ojimabashi. I was the first one to enter the shop. As I looked at the menu, the owner explained that rice comes for free with the meal. So, I decided to keep it simple and ordered the salt-grilled pork bone ramen with rice. Soon, the ramen was served first. It had a light pork bone soup, slightly thick noodles, large slices of chashu, spinach, quail egg, and 3 sheets of seaweed. Then, a bowl of rice was served in a white dish. I took a sip of the soup first. It had a slightly salty taste, but the umami of the pork bone was well brought out, with a nice garlic aroma. It was a delicious soup. Next, I tried the noodles. They were low hydration noodles, with a great chewy texture and a hint of wheat flavor. The chashu had a light taste and was easy to eat. I added some pepper and plenty of ground sesame. Then, I enjoyed the meal in one go. I took a bite of the chashu, slurped the noodles, drank the soup, ate the spinach, wrapped the rice in seaweed soaked in soup, and repeated the process. Before I knew it, the ramen bowl and the rice dish were empty. It was so delicious that I got lost in the moment. My stomach was full. The owner and the staff were relaxed and gave a laid-back service, which made the atmosphere in the shop quite pleasant. I would like to visit again when I have the chance.
