PESCHE
This is a shop located a little north of the bus road in front of the Asahikawa Mori Koji Line in front of the Osaka City Asahi Ward Office. So, it's a bit far from the station. It seems to be quite crowded, but we were able to enter without much wait thanks to good timing. The line is only outside, and you cannot wait inside (probably because it's surprisingly small). The inside of the shop is not divided into small seats, so there are not many seats. There are 3 counter seats, 4 tables (2 tables with 4 seats each and 2 tables with 2 seats each), with a maximum of 15 seats. The staff, consisting of the owner and two women, seem to be working together very well. Although their handling may be a bit clumsy, they call out to customers, guide them to available seats, and pay attention to those waiting in line. The owner himself is humble and constantly moving, showing consideration in that aspect. Honestly, I thought they could increase the number of seats with a little more ingenuity, but it may be that they are unable to provide good service if they do so. The curry seemed to be popular, but this time I deliberately chose a simple bukkake udon. I sat at the counter, and it was nice to be able to see the inside of the shop. They seem to have a commitment to udon, as they were boiling it freshly each time, even though it took some time. After a while, the "Chicken Tempura Bukkake Udon (1000 yen)" arrived. It came in a larger bowl than I expected. If you order it as a set, it comes with rice or egg rice for 1220 yen. The chicken tempura was a meaty thigh type with a delicious soy sauce-based flavor, a satisfying volume, and a crispy texture that was freshly fried. I was quite impressed with the chicken tempura itself. Many reviews mention that the udon lacks firmness, but I would say that it has a firm texture inside and a soft exterior. Those who prefer it firm may not find it suitable, but personally, I thought it was fine. The broth felt a bit weak. However, it was not a big problem as you can enjoy it with the seasonings available at your seat. There are also single-item dishes on the menu, and they offer a variety of menu items for beer as well. It is a popular shop, so there is often a line, but I thought that with a little more ingenuity in terms of seating, it could be even better. Looking forward to the future. Next time, I will try a different fried udon or curry. Thank you for the meal.
