It was more crowded than usual because Whity was closed today. The saury teishoku, including salt-grilled saury, was 1150 yen including tax. Since it was full inside, I waited for about 5 minutes on the outside chairs. As soon as I sat down, I placed my order, and 3 minutes later, the food was served. The saury wasn't very big but it was plump and delicious, with a nice amount of fat. It went well with grated daikon. The teishoku also came with 3 side dishes, making it a satisfying meal. Entered the wrong restaurant by mistake. Upon looking at the items, it turned out to be a shop specializing in a popular chain's grilled fish set meal. I ordered the hokke set meal and realized afterwards, but as expected, it was a small and salty hokke with 3 side dishes, very ordinary, just like the chain restaurant near my home that I always go to. Coming all the way to Osaka, I didn't really need to eat this.

It was a hearty meal. The salmon belly was fatty and had a great balance of salt, making it very delicious. The rice cooked in a kettle was fluffy and had a sweet flavor that paired perfectly with the grilled fish. I'm already thinking about trying the salt-grilled mackerel or Pacific saury next time at this restaurant.

The mackerel was impressively large and thick, overflowing from the plate, which got me excited. The potato salad had a nostalgic homemade taste, with a firm texture of the potatoes. The rolled omelette was a bit cold and too firm, probably pre-made, but the spinach with sesame dressing was light and delicious. The red miso soup had plenty of small clams in it, and although it was warm, it was enjoyable just sipping the broth. The mackerel was tender and fatty, and the generous portion of well-cooked rice made it even more satisfying. It was so delicious and filling that I wished for more rice. If they could enhance the quality of the rice to bring out more sweetness and stickiness, it would be even better. They offer a large serving for an additional 100 yen during lunchtime, and you can have a refill for 220 yen, which is a good deal. Overall, I would consider coming back for lunch again.
