I bought some souvenirs for myself from a shop I found while traveling in Kyushu in March. Ke Hogi is a crispy pastry made with peanut butter, yellow bean paste, and topped with walnuts. Ochaman is an aged steamed bun with a sub-name. The dough is aged for a week and the red bean paste has a rich matcha flavor. Amaou Milk Man is a steamed bun made with Fukuoka's special Amaou strawberries. The pink skin and the red bean paste both have a strong Amaou flavor. Chafukuun is an elegant sweet made with Yame traditional Gyokuro tea-flavored red bean paste wrapped in two layers of rice flour mochi. I would love to try different sweets if I have the chance.
