Fukuoka, a place where I had no plans to visit. I found myself with 45 unexpected free minutes and decided to stop by the "Tagashira Tea Shop" in Daimyo to fill the time. Despite it being lunchtime, I asked if I could use the cafe and they kindly said yes. I placed my order and paid at the counter, then waited at an available seat. They accept various electronic payments and barcode scans, which was convenient. The waiting number tag was a cute wooden spoon. The seating area was arranged side by side, with each chair having a cushion and a power outlet underneath. It had a trendy, stylish cafe vibe. When my order was ready, they brought it to my seat. I had made a lunch reservation, so I skipped the rice ball set. The brown rice rice ball looked delicious. Each order comes with freshly made rice balls. I chose the classic seaweed rice ball and sesame soy sauce rice ball, along with a roasted green tea latte set. The rice balls were small and delightful. The seaweed rice ball had cellophane between the rice ball and seaweed to prevent moisture. It was my first time trying the sesame soy sauce rice ball, and it was delicious. The set with warabi mochi looked refreshing and appealing as well. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I visited a shop that I had been curious about for a while. It was past 1 pm, so I was worried that the "onigiri set" might be sold out, but when I looked at the storefront, the menu was still displayed, so I went inside. I ordered the "Tagashira Special" for 990 yen, which includes 2 onigiri and a choice of side dish. I chose the onigiri flavors "salmon with shiso leaf" and "plum with bonito flakes," and the side dish was fried horse mackerel. You can choose between cold or hot tea for your drink, and I chose cold tea. The food arrived quickly on a tray. In addition to the fried horse mackerel, there were also sausages, fish cakes, and boiled vegetables, with warabi mochi as a tea snack. Since this is a tea shop, they also offer tea sweets. Both onigiri had a gentle and pleasant taste, especially the plum flavor. The fried horse mackerel was crispy and went well with the onigiri. You can refill your tea by adding hot water and squeezing the tea bag, which I did in the middle of my meal. The atmosphere inside the shop was relaxed, and it felt like time was passing slowly. I would like to stay longer if I had more time. Just having tea and sweets there would be nice too.

The restaurant opened at 10:30, and when I arrived a little after that, there was only one group of customers. I ordered the Tanogashira Special Set for 990 yen, which included 2 onigiri of your choice, a seasonal side dish, today's miso soup, today's recommended Japanese tea, and shiratama dango. I chose mentaiko and salmon with shiso onigiri from the selection in the showcase. The rice had mixed in with barley, giving it a chewy texture that was delicious. The side dish options included karaage or aji fry, and I chose the karaage. The miso soup had tofu and other ingredients in it. The tea of the day was "Yutakamidori," which was very comforting. The staff mentioned that if the tea ran out, I could refill it from the self-serve pot, but my cup was already filled with enough tea, so I was satisfied with just one cup. The shiratama dango came with 5 pieces, and they were delicious, especially with the tea powder sprinkled on top. They also offer made-to-order dango and zenzai, so I definitely plan on coming back to try more. The atmosphere was great for dining alone, and the staff were friendly and provided excellent service.

Today I went to this place for lunch. The female ratio inside the restaurant is 100%. I've been eating too many sweet things lately, so I opted for the 660 yen set without dessert. Isn't it too cheap? You can choose between two main dishes. On this day, it was between fried chicken or fried horse mackerel! Although I was tempted by the fried chicken, I ultimately chose the fried horse mackerel. I paid in advance and waited at my table, and it arrived quickly. A big basket with onigiri, rolled omelette, simmered dish, ham, and fried horse mackerel. It had a sense of a thoughtful lifestyle. The saltiness of the onigiri was good, the seasoning of the side dishes was also good, and I personally really liked the taste. And all this for only 660 yen! (The only regret was that I couldn't drink much of the tea because the second serving of miso soup was quite filling.) One thing that caught my attention was... I wonder if they wash this basket... It's overflowing from the paper lining, but if they just replace the paper, I would find it a bit unpleasant... I know it's a trivial thing to think about. This place also serves delicious rice dumplings, so I recommend coming here for tea as well. Thank you for the meal.

I used it during my break. I love matcha, but it's hard to drink in the summer because it's hot. I was happy to find cold matcha here! Even with ice, the matcha flavor was not diluted and it was just right and delicious. The warabi mochi was sweet on its own, so the black honey was just right. The hojicha latte had a strong milk flavor. I want to try other menu items too. A relaxing break at Tanogashira Tea.

There is a "Japanese tea cafe" in Daimyo. It used to be in IMS, but it was relocated here as part of the Tenjin Big Bang project. The interior is spacious and relaxing, with mostly solo customers. I hadn't eaten anything all morning, so I decided to order the "rice ball set" which included a variety of side dishes. The salted rice balls were delicious, and the side dishes like teriyaki chicken and simmered vegetables were surprisingly tasty. The dessert of white dumplings with green tea was also a nice touch. The miso soup was a bit light but had plenty of tofu and fried tofu in it. The tea, served in a large cup with refills available, was a nice addition. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of the food for the price. It was a great break and I enjoyed it.

I returned the rental car and had some time to spare before heading out for a drink in the evening. It was hot today, and I was sweating just from a short walk. Suddenly, my partner suggested we go into a tea house. We looked at the menu, and I chose a warm green tea, while my partner went for something like a matcha with white balls. The receipt showed "matcha shaved ice with condensed milk." The warm green tea in the air-conditioned shop was delicious. I ended up enjoying it mostly by myself. Towards the end, I had a bit of the shaved ice, which reminded me of my childhood. When I was around 10 years old, I used to help out at my aunt's shop across the street from our house. I remembered making shaved ice on a hot summer day, struggling not to drop the ice as I shaved it on the wooden ice shaver. I even cut my finger once on the blade. But the sound of the shaver and the process of making shaved ice brought back nostalgic memories. I've always loved condensed milk since then. Just pouring condensed milk over the shaved ice made me feel like I was back in those happy times. After that, we went to Iwataya to pick out some souvenirs.

Hi there! Today's review is about a fun night out with my friends at Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Fukuoka. We planned to have a second round at a different place, but the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed in the evening. So we took a break and wandered around before heading to Tagashira Tea Shop in Daimyo. The shop had changed its name in the evening and allowed alcohol, so we each ordered something we liked. The last picture is of a delicious smoothie with Kurume Amaou strawberries. It was really tasty with a strong strawberry flavor. The whipped cream was surprisingly light, which I liked. We relaxed here before moving on to our third stop. Thanks Tagashira Tea Shop, we'll definitely be back! See you next time! Bye!

A cafe specializing in Japanese tea turns into a pub or izakaya in the evening. After leaving an Italian restaurant from a meetup, I ended up here while feeling a bit drunk. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of the exterior and menu. I had a hojicha float, but I can't remember the price. What I do remember is that the hojicha flavor was strong and I recommended it to others for a taste. The staff kindly watched over us as we, a group of drunk people, chatted loudly for a long time. I am truly grateful for their hospitality. Thank you for the meal. Thank you. Thank you.

On a Friday afternoon in March 2022, I visited a shop that opened on October 28, 2021, run by a long-established Japanese tea specialty store in Hiroshima, which specializes in traditional Japanese sweets. Although I was tempted by the matcha parfait available for dine-in, this time I visited for takeout purposes, so I will introduce some of the takeout items.*************************・Matcha Dorayaki with Red Bean Paste - 216 yen・Dorayaki with Red Bean Paste - 194 yen・Mitarashi Dango - 140 yenA rich and delicious sauce made by taking dashi with Rishiri kombu and honkatsuo, and combining it with a three-year-aged soy sauce from Okuizumo.・Kinako Dango - 151 yen・Isobe Dango - 151 yenA secret Isobe sauce made by taking dashi with Rishiri kombu and honkatsuo, with the aroma of seaweed that stimulates the appetite.・Matcha An Dango - 172 yenTopped with a vibrant matcha red bean paste made using stone-milled matcha from Uji, Kyoto.・Value Set of 3 Dango - 464 yen → 432 yen(Mitarashi Dango, Kinako Dango, Matcha Dango)・Rice Flour Bamboo Charcoal Roll Cake - Price unknown・Warabi Mochi - 2 types - Price unknown・Mizu Manju - Price unknown*************************This time, I purchased items to give to others, so I asked various questions to a young male staff member while making my purchase. He kindly and politely answered my questions, and I was very grateful for that!! (He also agreed to let me take photos, which I appreciate!!)__________________________Since a fee is charged for the paper bag, it is recommended to bring your own eco bag.【Tasting】●Isobe Dango - 151 yen (incl. tax)A secret Isobe sauce made by taking dashi with Rishiri kombu and honkatsuo, with the aroma of seaweed that stimulates the appetite. The first thing that surprised me was that the seaweed was crispy and could be enjoyed that way! Unlike onigiri with seaweed directly wrapped around the dango, the seaweed is not directly wrapped around the dango, allowing the person eating it to wrap it themselves when eating. The sweetness of the sauce is moderate. The perfect sweet and savory flavor was very much to my liking ♡ When eaten together with the crispy seaweed, it was very delicious (⁎˃ ꇴ ˂⁎)♡ The dango was chewy yet had a good texture. I ate it the day after I purchased it, but it was still chewy and had a good bite ◎ It would have been even more delicious if I had eaten it on the day of purchase~ (⁎´v `⁎)__________________________I also purchased dorayaki and matcha an dango, but since they were for giving to others, I cannot comment on their taste. However, the Isobe dango was very delicious, so I assume that the dorayaki and other dango are also delicious. If there is a shop nearby, I would like to gradually try the dine-in menu as well♪

"Daidou Chaho" in Daimyo, near the Kego area. It used to be a Korean cafe, but now it's "Daidou Chaho." They have a variety of teas, sweets, and onigiri menu. However, in the evening, the basic brown rice salt onigiri priced at 184 yen + tax tends to sell out quickly. You have to chew it well, but it's so tempting to gobble it down. The white rice with barley and umeboshi katsuobushi is 224 yen + tax. The brown rice with shirasu and large leaf onigiri is also 224 yen + tax. It's delicious, as expected. I'm not sure if this location was the right choice, but they seem to have a good selection of sweets as well. Shop Information: Daidou Chaho, 092-726-6533, 1-6-11 Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. Business hours: 10:30-19:30.

✔️ Matcha parfait with red bean and mochi white balls (¥990) ✔️ Hojicha parfait with red bean and mochi white balls (¥990) ✔️ Matcha latte (¥528) ✔️ Hojicha latte (¥528) ✔️ Tokachi sweet red bean soup / Matcha flavor (¥728) Tadoguchi Tea Shop, previously located in I'm's, has moved to Daimyo. Here, you can enjoy healthy Japanese sweets and specialty rice balls from Togeiya. This time, I tried the matcha and hojicha parfaits, lattes, and sweet red bean soup. They all have a strong and authentic tea flavor, and they are delicious. There is also a wide variety of rice ball options, including brown rice which is great. They also have a lot of items available for takeout!

Established in 1930, the long-standing Tagashira Tea Shop in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, has opened its first tea cafe in Kyushu. Previously located in the Imuzu commercial facility, the shop has now relocated and opened two new branches in the city. Upon entering, you will find a showcase and cashier on the left, with seating on the right side. The menu includes over 10 varieties of Japanese tea, matcha lattes, hojicha lattes, matcha shakes, matcha parfaits, onigiri, and Japanese sweets. Orders are placed first, followed by payment. The onigiri set offers three options, with the Tagashira Special Set (990 yen) being a popular choice. Customers can choose two out of seven onigiri options, such as the salmon and shiso leaf onigiri and the mentaiko onigiri. The set also includes a seasonal side dish, one piece of fried chicken, tamagoyaki, Vienna sausage, and miso soup of the day. The recommended Japanese tea of the day can be served hot or cold, with options like green tea. The meal is centered around sweetness but also offers a satisfying dining experience. The onigiri, made from a blend of Hiroshima-grown koshihikari brown rice and white rice (with barley), is deliciously chewy. The ingredients, including the filling in the mentaiko onigiri, are free from artificial colors. The Vienna sausage and miso soup are subtly flavored but showcase the natural taste of the ingredients. The atmosphere is perfect for solo female diners, as the day I visited, the clientele was 100% female.
