I visited the Unagi Tokudai Osaka store on the 10th floor of Lucua Ile around 2 pm on a Sunday, which happened to be the midsummer day of the Ox. There was no waiting time and I was able to enter immediately. The eel was tender and fluffy, but the seasoning was a bit too light, leaving me feeling somewhat unsatisfied. Overall, it was neither good nor bad, just average.

The weather is getting hotter day by day. In times like this, it's definitely eel. I revisited "Unagi Toku," where I had delicious eel last time. This time, I chose the "Unaju <Matsu>" with one eel (4,400 yen). It was soft, delicious, and perfect. It made me forget about the oppressive heat. Thank you for the meal! 🎵

This is the Nangun Mobile Unit. On Monday before 2pm, we ordered two sets of tea rice for 3600 yen, which seemed to be a Chinese family and a couple on a sugar daddy date. There is also an eel rice bowl for 7000 yen, haha. 3600 yen is enough, but I also want to try the 7000 yen one!

I visited the restaurant around 1:00 PM on Sunday. The restaurant area in Lucua was crowded as it was a Sunday, but the eel restaurant had a moderate level of busyness. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I was seated promptly. This time, I ordered the Eel Tea-Infused Rice Bowl (Matsu) for 4,840 yen. I also ordered the grilled eel liver for an additional 880 yen. The tea-infused rice bowl was like a traditional hitsumabushi dish. The eel was slightly fluffy and deliciously fragrant. I wish there was a bit more wasabi and green onions, and some shredded seaweed would have made it even better. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Unagi Toku" on the 10th floor of Osaka Station's Lucua Ile for lunch. The restaurant offers a view of Osaka Station and has a calm atmosphere. I decided to treat myself and chose the "Unaju <Matsu>" (4,400 yen) which includes one whole eel. The eel, which is described as being from Hamamatsu in Shizuoka Prefecture, is lightly steamed and has a delicate sauce that doesn't overpower the natural flavor of the eel. The eel was tender and delicious, and I quickly finished every last bite. It had been a while since I last had eel (maybe a year?), but it was just as tasty as I remembered. Itadakimasu!

The restaurant is located on the 10th floor of Lucua in Umeda. I went out for lunch and wandered around the food court on the 10th floor, but I felt like having eel so I came to this restaurant. It was my second visit. Since it was before opening, I waited on a bench for a bit. In no time, about 10 people were lined up. As there were two of us, we were seated at a table. Both of us ordered the eel rice bowl <Matsu>. It was prepared relatively quickly while we were drinking beer. The eel was tender. It was steamed eel in the Kanto style. The sauce was slightly sweet but delicious. When you sprinkle some sansho pepper on it, it becomes even more fragrant and delicious.

First visit. While there were long lines at every other store in Lucua, this shop had a relatively short wait and we were seated in about 10 minutes. I ordered the grilled eel over rice. The eel in a box looked delicious too, but I decided on the grilled eel over rice because it can also be made into ochazuke, allowing you to enjoy two different flavors. At 2900 yen, the eel itself didn't particularly impress me, it was just average. The broth for the ochazuke tasted quite salty. The sansho pepper on the table was delicious. The taste was decent, but I was surprised by how cold it was inside the restaurant. It was an extremely cold day that day, but for some reason the air conditioning was on and it was really cold. Maybe the kitchen gets hot from grilling the eel... From the customer's perspective, it was tough. I won't be returning.

Since my birthday was coming up, I decided to splurge and go eat some eel. From the first bite, the texture of the eel and the sauce on the rice matched perfectly. Eating it, I thought there is no other dish that can make me this happy. If you love eel, this is the best dish!

Affordable price for hitsumabushi. Are they grilling it? It was crispy and delicious. It was a busy time but we were able to sit comfortably and enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. We also tried the dango soup. It was generous in portion and had a refined flavor, very delicious.

First visit to Unagi Tokusan. I was craving eel and happened to find this place in Umeda! I didn't know there was a place where you could eat such delicious eel in Lucua! I ordered the regular eel for 2,484 yen. They cook the eel after you order, so you have to wait for over 15 minutes, but the fluffy eel was so delicious that I didn't mind the wait at all! If you're struggling to decide on lunch in Umeda, definitely give it a try! It was really delicious! ^ ^

This restaurant is located on the 10th floor of "LUCUA," a station-type commercial facility directly connected to Osaka Station. On Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, the restaurant floor is full of customers waiting to be seated. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table, and ended up sitting separately in pairs as there were no tables available for four people. Although their specialty seems to be eel chazuke, we ordered the "Unaju (large)" and added an eel chawanmushi. My wife ordered the "Unaju (regular)." The eel was tender and delicious, but we wished it had a bit more thickness. There are other branches of this restaurant in Japan and overseas, but it was not specified where the eel is sourced from. There are also three branches in Hamamatsu, so it might be sourced from there. Thank you for the meal.

◆Unagi Rice Bowl Set - 2,695 yen including tax (grilled half-body eel) The eel was fluffy and the sauce was sweet, which paired well with the rice and suited my taste. The seating was spacious and quiet, which was nice. It's a bit on the pricey side, but eel is just so delicious.

This is a restaurant located on the 10th floor of Lucua near Osaka Station. It is a specialty eel restaurant. The restaurant has only table seats, but there are quite a few seats. I visited during lunchtime alone. I was seated at a table. First, I ordered a beer and an eel rice bowl. The beer was brought to me quickly. I waited for the eel rice bowl to be ready. It arrived. The eel rice bowl came with eel, liver, pickles, and simmered daikon and aburaage. The eel was plump and prepared in the Kanto style. It was delicious. The portion was also sufficient, almost too much for me. The liver was not as good, but the eel itself was satisfying.

Today, I would like to introduce you to Unagi Chazuke. This is my first time hearing about Unagi Chazuke. "Unagi Tok" is an eel cuisine restaurant based in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. They have branches in Tokyo, such as Nishi-Azabu, Ginza, Shibuya, as well as in Kyoto, Osaka, and other locations. I visited the Osaka branch this time, located on the 10th floor of Lucua Ile. I ordered their specialty, Unagi Chazuke. It is a dish where eel and rice in an oshibako can be enjoyed in three different ways, not as hitsumabushi, but as Unagi Chazuke. I placed my order and waited for it to be ready, sipping on hot tea in the meantime. The signature Unagi Chazuke comes in different levels - regular, upper, pine, and special upper. I chose the upper level, which comes with liver suction, pickles, and a small side dish. Opening the lid of the oshibako is a delightful moment, as a lovely aroma fills the air. First, I enjoyed it as it is, like an eel bowl. For the second serving, I added condiments - wasabi and white leeks. The sharp spiciness of wasabi harmonizes well with the eel sauce, giving the dish a nice kick. For the third serving, I added condiments, poured broth over it, and enjoyed it like Chazuke. It was a bit challenging as I encountered eel bones towards the end, getting stuck between my teeth, but it was delicious nonetheless. Thank you for the meal.

I was planning to go to Nagoya, but I decided to cancel the trip due to concerns about COVID-19. Instead, I decided to experience Nagoya in Osaka. A friend found a restaurant that serves eel, Unagi Tok Osaka. The restaurant is located on the 10th floor of Lucua Ile in Osaka. They serve eel from Hamamatsu, and they offer various eel dishes such as Unaju, Hitsumabushi, and grilled eel. I ordered the special Unaju for 5,500 yen, which came with eel, liver sashimi, liver stew, and pickles. The eel was tender and covered the rice nicely, and the sauce was light and tasty. Personally, I prefer eel with more flavor, but this eel was quite light and easy to eat. The eel did not have a strong presence, and the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelette) was more flavorful. It made me realize how the way eel is prepared can greatly affect its taste. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

I visited the famous "Unagi Tokusan" known for its eel ochazuke for the first time. I love eel, but it's a luxury item so I always want to eat it as is (laughs). However, this time I decided to try it as ochazuke and was surprised! It was delicious! It makes sense now why the director of Takasu Clinic eats eel ochazuke every day.

Beer and pickled vegetables (plenty). The eel bowl came with pickles. The eel meat feels thin. It may be due to the steaming method. It has a nice tenderness. Easy to eat without bones. It is quite fragrant from being grilled. The sauce has a strong flavor. Compared to Hirokawa, the meat feels thinner and the flavor is stronger. I wanted to try KAGUA's "Ale with a Japanese aroma".

I often eat hitsumabushi in Nagoya, but I felt like having eel for the first time in a while and chose a restaurant. Due to the influence of the coronavirus, there were fewer customers than expected, and entering the restaurant was smooth. I ordered an eel roll and eel tea pickles (regular size). Even though it was a regular size, the amount of rice was satisfying, and I was able to enjoy the eel with a full stomach. Personally, I like eating it the most with condiments and wasabi!

I arrived at the restaurant feeling exhausted after a long cycling trip at around 1 pm. It seemed quite busy inside, with other restaurants having long queues. I ordered the special premium eel rice bowl with half a whole eel. The eel was soft and fluffy, but slightly thin. The taste was good, overall it was a decent meal.

From a short trip to Kyoto, I continued on to Osaka for a business trip. On the first day off, I went to "Unagi Tok" with a friend and their child. Located on the 10th floor of Lucua Ile, directly connected to Osaka Station. The name sounded familiar, and it turns out it's a long-established shop from Hamamatsu with branches all over Japan. Established in the Meiji era, the restaurant offers window seats overlooking Osaka Station, perfect for families with children who love trains. I ordered the eel rice bowl, while my friend got the eel over rice, and the child had a half-size eel rice bowl. The eel rice bowl came with eel rice in a box, pickles, a small dish, and eel liver soup. The eel was steamed in a Kanto style, with slightly sweet sauce. The way to eat it was similar to "hitsumabushi," but I couldn't quite figure out the difference. Overall, it was a nice meal, but maybe the eel over rice would have been a better choice!
