Visit date May 2, 2022, Monday around 1:00 PM. Triton, the origin of conveyor belt sushi in Kitami, has its first store at the Miwa store in Kitami. It is located along a main road, a bit far from Kitami Station on foot. On the 4th day of Golden Week, I arrived around 1:00 PM, got an entry ticket inside the store, and waited for about 40 minutes. Most people come by car, so they wait in their cars rather than inside the store. The parking lot is spacious, and there is a notification system via LINE when your turn is approaching, which is convenient. The interior of the store, with its counter and booth seats, is laid out similarly to Triton in Sapporo, with a sense of cleanliness. In the waiting room, there are many autographs displayed, including Yuki Maeda, a native of Kitami famous for "Natsu Matsuri," and the commander of the curling team Locosoleil, Sacchan. I was guided to the counter and greeted lightly by the sushi chef in front of me. Orders are made using a touch panel, and when you look up at the counter seats, today's recommended items are lined up like strips. Neta from the eastern coast of Hokkaido, such as Tokoro and Notuke, is noticeable, which is typical of Triton. Also, the pink dolphin on the teacup has a cute and pop design. The notable item was the Tokoro-produced Live Hotate, a large scallop that covers the shari. It had a sweet and chewy texture, truly representing Hokkaido. The salmon was also large in size, almost bite-sized. I regret not ordering the King Salmon, which seemed more fatty... The Tako-no-Ko Gunkan, a rare delicacy in Hokkaido, was my first time trying it, and it had a mysterious taste that was hard to describe. I ate exactly 10 plates and was quite full, very satisfied.◆SummaryThe atmosphere inside the store was calm and comfortable compared to Triton in Sapporo. It is cost-effective with Triton's LINE friend registration coupon for a 200 yen discount on the first visit, which is a good deal! I finally visited Triton Sanrin-ten (1st store) which I had been wanting to go to. I arrived around 5:30 pm and had to wait in line to get in. Every sushi was fresh, big, and incredibly delicious. I had live scallops, two kinds of king crab, kelp-marinated flounder, octopus battleship sushi, large sweet shrimp, spear squid with mountain wasabi, super fatty tuna, seared salmon belly, seared conger eel, seared eel with soy sauce, and miso soup with shrimp. The atmosphere was also great and I left completely satisfied. Highly recommended!

I have eaten at the branch in Tokyo before, but I wanted to try it in Kitami! They prepare the fish right in front of you, so the freshness is a highlight. When I sat down, the chef energetically introduced himself. The slices seemed larger than in Tokyo. Despite their size, they were reasonably priced and very fresh, which was satisfying. The tuna was more delicious today than the medium fatty tuna. The chawanmushi was a bit too sweet for my taste, which was disappointing. Also, the sea urchin had a watery texture and the grains were not well defined, so that was also disappointing. However, all the other dishes were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Triton for the first time. It seems you have to use LINE to wait in line. When waiting in the car, a message popped up saying to come inside the store. It didn't take long to be called inside. I ordered the ikura gunkan sushi and some local dishes. I don't really think herring is delicious, but since it's famous in Hokkaido, I tried it. I still don't like it much. I love ikura, it's delicious. The miso soup with aosa was also tasty. I didn't really like the octopus gunkan sushi. Hokkaido may have fatty crab meat, but it didn't taste delicious to me. I prefer regular crab.

This is a well-known revolving sushi restaurant in Kitami! This time, I had 5 plates of sushi and chawanmushi, a total of 6 plates. Among them, I picked out the dishes that made me go "wow!" The first one is the salted salmon roe sushi. It was my first time seeing salted salmon roe, and it had a rich, salty flavor that was surprisingly delicious! It was the most impressive dish this time! The scallop was large and had a satisfying texture, and it was also very tasty! Lastly, there was spear squid, which had a firm texture and a wonderful umami flavor as you chewed. It had been a while since I last visited, but the quality was as high as ever, and I am always impressed every time I come. It was delicious sushi - thank you for the meal!

I returned to Anagura in Kitami from my house. Should I grab something to eat before heading home? Triton, which originated in Kitami, but I had never been there before. Is the scallop good here? Well, it's 430 yen, so it should be. I feel saved by the scallops from Tokoro. The sardine is just okay. I don't feel the freshness either. The mackerel is not tasty at all. It lacks oiliness and feels dry and crumbly like a dry mackerel. The seasoning is also not good. The salmon is just big. Isn't this chili salmon? The Norwegian fresh salmon from the supermarket is much better. The red tuna is also not great for its price. I think tuna should be more tender and tasty. It tastes like skipjack tuna. It feels watery too. The squid salad is the best (laughs). The flavor and texture of the cooked squid, the harmony with mayonnaise, and the crispy seaweed are good. I feel like there are fewer ingredients in the fish head soup now. I remember there used to be more salmon heads in it. The old Triton and the current Triton are different. To be honest, for this price, I think there are better sushi restaurants out there. It feels like the focus has shifted to the interior and exterior design of the restaurant and the introduction of credit card payments, affecting the quality of the food they offer. In the past, the sushi was handcrafted by the chef, but now it's made by a rice ball machine. I'm not against the rice ball machine, but I feel like the cost and quality of the food are no longer in balance. The touch panel ordering is convenient, though. The excitement I felt before is gone. I don't think it's because my taste buds have become more refined.

If you were to move to Kitami City, you should definitely check out Triton Sushi. Coming from Obihiro City, known for its competitive revolving sushi scene, I was curious to see how it compared. Personally, I felt that there were fewer seasonal menu options, but that could be due to the timing. Ordering through the touch panel was convenient. Price wasn't a concern for me, but I would say that Triton Sushi offers a pretty standard experience for revolving sushi in Hokkaido. I went there for some good conversation material.

Lately, I've been going to 100 yen sushi places all the time, so I haven't been here in a while. ^^ "Triton Miwa branch" As I mentioned before, this is the original Triton store. It's basically the Triton headquarters. (Just a little bragging.) φ(* ̄0 ̄) It was past 12 o'clock. Normally, even on weekdays, there would be a wait at this time, but I was able to sit at a booth without waiting. Because of "mam-bou" (COVID-19 prevention measures), right? It's a touch panel. It's been so long that I didn't know they had introduced this. Come to think of it, satochina wrote about it, didn't she? ^^ With the introduction of the touch panel, there seems to be less interaction with the sushi chefs, and it feels like it's leaning more towards 100 yen sushi. By the way, the sushi isn't rotating due to infection control measures. What I ate. ◇ Cold yellowtail. ◇ Fatty mackerel. ◇ Seafood bomb battleship. ◇ Two kinds of battleships with tuna and monkfish liver. ◇ Tuna and avocado. ◇ Flounder. ◇ Salmon head miso soup. I visited relatives in Kitami City and we talked about delicious food. They mentioned that there is a famous udon restaurant called Triton Main Store, which is known for having the best conveyor belt sushi in Hokkaido. It was founded in Kitami City! We arrived at the restaurant before it opened and there were already about 5 cars parked outside with a line forming. We managed to get seats just as it opened, and the atmosphere was lively with enthusiastic staff. We tried the big button shrimp, which is served with the head and body separated, a unique dish that we always order. During the season, they also serve shrimp. It's something you don't often find at other conveyor belt sushi restaurants. We also enjoyed scallops, live surf clams, live baby clams, rare king crab intestines, octopus eggs, tuna, white fish, and more. My wife's parents were very satisfied with the meal.

I was able to find a night job at Triton Kitami. I can't drink now because I have work. I debated whether to eat after work, but I'm hungry and it's not easy to eat at this time. Triton chances are rare, so I'll go in. It's close to 9 PM and there are only a few cars in the parking lot. There are four customers in front of me. Two more customers arrived just 20 minutes before the last order. They placed us closer to the entrance at the corner of the counter. They serve green tea with the conveyor belt sushi, which is a setting I can't imagine. The octopus legs are quite large and not bad. The vinegar rice is seasoned well. The vinegar on the mackerel is weak, but it's good. The tekka maki is not good. I shouldn't have ordered it, even though I don't like red meat. I should have ordered the medium fatty tuna tekka. Poor people shouldn't come here. None of the wasabi has any kick, even though I asked for extra wasabi. The scallops are expensive and not worth it. The ginger is not tasty. This is enough for me. Well, I've had the experience. Isn't this enough? This is just how the service is, right? Triton is highly rated as a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but the main store of the restaurant I ate at in Nemuro, Nemuro, completely outshines Triton. Triton is a total failure!

It's crowded even on regular days. I thought I could sit right away since I'm alone, but I had to wait. The counter was full but there were two empty booth seats. Two people who came after me were seated at the booth. I'm still waiting. What's going on? After that, they continued to seat people at the booth. I'm still waiting. Not satisfied, I said I would leave, and a person who seemed important on the floor said "Clean up here" to someone else and then they seated me at a table for 6. The bill came out to about 3800 yen even though I only had 8 plates! Angry lunch! The sushi itself was good with fresh toppings. They have their own Triton card-like system, but I wish they would introduce non-cash payments soon.

"I visited the restaurant on a Saturday around 4 pm on November 30, 2019. This review was written before the impact of COVID-19, so please note that there may have been changes to the interior of the restaurant or menu since then. Even though it was only 4 pm, the restaurant was almost full! Triton is a relatively upscale conveyor belt sushi restaurant in my opinion. It's a delicious place to eat! I feel like it's the kind of place you would take relatives or go for a slightly nicer meal. In the winter, you can't miss out on the "Mantachi Gunkan" or the "Kanburi" (winter yellowtail)! By the way, "tachi" is a Hokkaido term that isn't commonly used in mainland Japan. It refers to the milt of fish, which is a winter delicacy in Hokkaido. I love having it as tempura with salt! As many of you may know, the seasonal fish and recommended items are written on the curtains above the conveyor belt. So, I often choose my dishes from there rather than the menu. I think Triton is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant that everyone can enjoy. Most dishes cost around 300 yen or so, but the satisfaction level is high! I visited before the impact of COVID-19, and I haven't been eating out much lately, but I can't wait to have sushi again when things settle down!"

Today, I had dinner with my mother-in-law and two others at a sushi conveyor belt restaurant called Triton. It was quite crowded because it was lunchtime, and we had to wait in line. We all ordered our favorite dishes one after another. I tried the live scallops recommended by the chef, and they were thick and delicious. The crab seemed to be frozen and watery, but overall, I think Triton is one of the better sushi conveyor belt restaurants. I hope to come back again in the future!٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I visited thinking that it would be empty since they opened at 11:00, but there was already a line and it was almost full when they opened. The sushi rolls like the battleship were very generous, and the cost performance is better than 100 yen sushi!! The fish is also fresh, and everything I ate was delicious. I want to visit again.

Tokyo's Ikebukuro Tobu Department Store and Skytree also have stores, but there are always long lines. We decided to visit the original store with a group of four adults who had come all the way to Shiretoko in Hokkaido. We drove for 3 hours to get to Kitami. The store was still crowded, even though we arrived at 5 pm, and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. While waiting, we observed people sitting in the waiting area, passing the time (noticing things like a woman ordering a dish and waiting for 5 minutes, or a family of 6 taking a long time to order individually, which can be frustrating for those waiting). After waiting for almost 30 minutes, we were seated at a table. We poured our own tea, served ourselves some pickled ginger, and ordered the time-consuming soup dishes. Three of us ordered the "Scallop Miso Soup (270 yen)" and our friend ordered the "Shrimp Head Miso Soup (190 yen)". It had been about 6-7 years since we last had conveyor belt sushi in Niigata, so it was a new experience for us. Triton was also a new experience for us, so we relied on our friends for guidance during this meal. It was fun to discuss and write down what we wanted to eat on the order sheet. After 3 minutes, the dishes started arriving. The "Fatty Salmon (260 yen)" melted in our mouths with its rich flavor. The "Fresh Squid with Wasabi (206 yen)" had a strong wasabi kick, and the squid was chewy and delicious. We couldn't resist ordering the limited edition "Crab Blossom (465 yen)", which was a delight for crab lovers. The "Seafood Bomb Battleship (206 yen)" with tuna, white fish, cucumber, and flying fish roe was extravagant. We couldn't resist ordering the limited edition "Medium Fatty Tuna (465 yen)", "Seared Salmon (260 yen)", and to finish, the "Large Shrimp Tail (702 yen)" which was a flavorful combination of shrimp tail, egg, and miso. We had initially planned to order more, but we were full after the initial servings. We sorted the plates by color and the staff calculated the bill by scanning the IC chip in each plate. It was impressive. Comparing it to a high-end sushi restaurant would be unfair, as this was a different experience. Although we felt that the flavors of the sushi were lacking, the modern conveyor belt sushi restaurant is not about interacting with the chef like in high-end sushi restaurants, but about enjoying the interaction between customers and learning from the service and payment system. It's important to visit occasionally.

I was planning to have soba, but a person from the client company said, "The main store is in Kitami," so I changed my mind. I tried Hokkaido-produced dishes like spear squid, fresh salmon, salmon roe, scallops, surf clams, and pearl clams. They were all delicious. Even the salmon, which I never usually eat, was delicious. Hokkaido is truly amazing. Thank you for the feast.

It gets crowded early for lunch, so go early. 11:15 am. Full... had to wait. (^ー^;A But after about 5 minutes, a counter seat opened up. Alright, let's eat quickly. ◇ Yellowtail collar soup. A must-have soup. ◇ Freshly caught amberjack. It's in season now and delicious with its fatty and tender texture. ◇ Fresh squid. Soft and sweet. ◇ Bluefin tuna. It's delicious even if it's not worth 3 billion. ◇ Salmon roe. A bit on the sweet side. ...I had 3-4 more plates. It was a delicious sushi lunch, although it was a bit disappointing that there was no tuna belly.

The Sanma (Pacific saury) in season was incredibly delicious!! There were also many other sushi items that were delicious at a normal level. The staff who came to greet us had a nice vibe! This revolving sushi restaurant has expanded to Tokyo as well. I haven't been to the Tokyo location, so I was curious about what the revolving sushi restaurant in Eastern Hokkaido was like. In conclusion, I thought that if you choose a good sushi place in Tokyo, you can enjoy sushi of a similar level. It seems like nowadays, there are many affordable and delicious sushi places in Tokyo thanks to advanced logistics. Also, I've been thinking lately, is it really true that the fresher the better when it comes to taste? I wonder if aging the fish a bit might actually make it tastier, as sometimes overly fresh fish can lack flavor. The Sanma and scallops in season were truly delicious, showcasing the excellence of Eastern Hokkaido. However, other items were just at a normal level of deliciousness. The yellowtail was not as good as what you would find in the Hokuriku region. The spear squid from the Tsugaru Strait was tasty but nothing extraordinary. The surf clam lacked sweetness. I had some really delicious surf clam in Akkeshi, so maybe the quality of the ingredients was not the best. The salmon roe had much smaller grains than regular ikura, which was surprising. The smaller grains give it a more refined appearance! It was delicious. The tuna had just the right amount of fat, making it delicious. The Sanma fish ball soup was tasty. It was roughly mashed, so you could really feel both the flavor and texture. The strong sweetness of the fatty fish was delicious! This revolving sushi restaurant is good, but not amazing! Nevertheless, the place was packed with locals! I went around 2 pm on a weekday and had to wait because it was full. There were many families, and it was clear that the locals really support this place. The fact that the staff took the time to introduce themselves and greet us may be one of the reasons for its popularity.

Visited Triton's Sanrin store in Kitami with a friend on September 17, 2018. We had to wait for about 20 minutes before being seated at a table, as the place was already full of customers. Triton, with its main store in Kushiro, is known for its high-quality sushi and has also expanded to Sapporo. Despite being from Kushiro, I prefer Triton in Kitami for some reason. The freshness and taste of the fish are just as good as the two Kushiro stores, but there's something special about the rice at Triton that I really like. However, this time I felt like the taste was slightly off. I noticed that the staff inside seemed to be using a sushi-making machine, although there were still some skilled chefs hand-making the sushi. It's understandable that the place is crowded and they may have to resort to using machines, but it was a bit disappointing. Despite that, the meal was delicious and we ended up spending 7000 yen for the two of us. It was a bit pricey for conveyor belt sushi, but maybe we just ate too much (laughs).
