The popular No. 1 mentaiko croissant was sold out, so I bought No. 2, 3, and 4 instead. Chestnut and macadamia for 280 yen, crispy melon for 190 yen, and curry bread with 8 kinds of vegetables for 230 yen. They were all delicious. The other breads outside the ranking also looked delicious.

A recommended bakery by a friend in Hakata. The shop is spacious with a wide variety of breads. I couldn't find the mentaiko French bread I was looking for! But then I was told to pay at the register first before ordering. They sliced the freshly baked mentaiko French bread for me, and it was so crispy and flavorful. I took it to go, but the crunchiness and the taste of mentaiko were still there. It was a great bakery recommended by my friend.

While heading to lunch in Nakasu, I happened to stumble upon this place by chance. I knew there was a shop near the canal, but I thought it was in the direction of the city hall, so this unexpected find was a pleasant surprise. Of course, I had to try their mentaiko (spicy cod roe) bread. I wondered if there would be a wait for it to be baked, but they were quick at FulFul. They were baking them one after another. The layout of the new shop was similar to the popular Amamudakotan. It operated like a buffet, with the line moving towards the register. There were other tasty looking bread with side dishes, but since I was going to have lunch later, I only got the mentaiko bread to go. They asked if I wanted it sliced when I ordered, so I could request an easy-to-eat size. If it takes a while to get home, you can reheat it in a toaster for 2-3 minutes to bring back the deliciousness. It was crunchy! I really enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

I bought the most popular mentaiko French bread recommended by a friend, along with curry bread and a melon choux from the refrigerated section. The mentaiko French bread was a whole piece for less than 500 yen, soft and chewy, absolutely delicious. In Tokyo, you would pay the same price for a smaller piece, so I felt it was really good value for money.

Fukuoka is a place where you can find mentaiko (spicy cod roe) bread pretty much anywhere, but this place is one of the famous ones. I parked in the empty parking lot in front of the shop. There were many foreign tourists taking photos outside the shop. I lined up, asked the staff for a mentaiko bread at the register, and took it to go. The baguette was cut in half and had small cuts on top. The soft and chewy baguette went well with the mentaiko. It was delicious.

During my trip to Fukuoka, I stayed at a hotel just a 3-minute walk away from this popular shop with a sign for "Mentaiko France" that caught my eye. I looked it up and found out that they offer freshly baked Mentaiko France if you time it right, so I arrived around 5 PM. Luckily, I arrived just in time for a fresh batch to come out of the oven, and I was able to purchase a piping hot Mentaiko France. It was filled with plenty of spicy cod roe and was absolutely delicious. They had a wide variety of other bread as well, and I regret not buying more of the ones that caught my eye.

On my way back from a trip to Fukuoka, I visited this shop famous for its "mentaiko France" bread, which I wanted to buy as a souvenir. There were a few people in line, and while waiting, I picked various types of bread to put in a tray. There were so many delicious-looking breads that I ended up buying a lot. Near the register, they rhythmically cut the freshly made "mentaiko France" and put it in a bag. When I told them the quantity of "mentaiko France" along with other breads at the register, they took out the appropriate amount. After paying, I ate the freshly made bread in the car in the parking lot. It was crispy, juicy, warm, and delicious. I highly recommend trying it fresh. I ate the other breads after returning to Tokyo, and they were also delicious. It seems like you can also eat inside the shop. Thank you for the meal.

This is a bakery located in the same building as Canal City Hakata. The main store is in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, which is not easily accessible without a car. The shop is small, but there are around 10 seats available for dining in, which is convenient. There are 3 cash registers, and it can get crowded, especially when ordering the mentaiko France, as they cut it on the spot, causing a bit of a wait (around 3 minutes). In the main store, they have pre-cut versions available, so there is no waiting time. I bought the mentaiko France, and for souvenirs, I recommend getting the whole uncut baguette. The pre-cut version has perforations for easy tearing into the perfect size. The amount of mentaiko in this store felt less compared to others, but the taste was rich and the texture was crispy, making it delicious.

Near Canal City, the closest subway station is Kushida-jinja-mae, and it's a little over a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station's Hakata exit on the conventional line side. The shop is spacious with a wide variety of breads at reasonable prices. There are also counter seats for eating in. I purchased the freshly baked Mentaiko French Bread for 450 yen including tax, which is advertised as being served freshly baked over 50 times a day. I ordered at the register and received a freshly baked piece with a cut for easy eating. The outside is crispy, the inside is chewy, and there is plenty of mentaiko. It may be easier to eat and more delicious than the famous Mentaiko French Bread shop!

Before departing from Hakata, let's try the mentaiko France! That's why I dropped by here. Located at a corner near Canal City, you can smell the delicious scent of bread from afar. There were many tasty-looking breads lined up, and I wanted to buy them all, but I consulted with my stomach and ended up getting only 5, including the mentaiko France. There are counter seats inside where you can eat in, but they were full so I opted for takeout. I enjoyed the mentaiko France and melon bread in the car. The mentaiko France was delicious with the flavorful mentaiko and easy to tear apart thanks to the cuts. As for the melon bread, it was crunchy on the outside but otherwise average. I'll save the other breads for later enjoyment.

On the sixth day, it was the last day in Fukuoka. The final event was watching HKT48 at the Dontaku City Hall stage. There was still some time left, so after eating tempura at EZO Fukuoka, I took the subway back to Gion and went to FuruFuru-san. Before heading back, I had to buy some mentaiko France, of course. If I waited to buy it after watching Dontaku, I might not make it in time for the last Shinkansen. The store was as crowded as ever, so I thought of just getting the mentaiko France, but the walnut bread and cream cheese and cranberry bread looked delicious, so I bought those as well and hurried to the city hall. Normally, photography is prohibited at these events, but on this day, it was all okay! It was amazing! The atmosphere was so lively. After it ended, I reluctantly left. The mentaiko France was for breakfast the next day. The slightly moist mentaiko France was also delicious. Rino-chan (Rino Sakamoto), who is now recognized by FuruFuru-san's official Instagram account, often says she eats it the next day, so I had to do the same. The walnut bread was moist and soft, with a nice texture from the walnuts. The cream cheese and cranberry bread was delicious, with the tartness of the berries and smooth cheese. The bread was just the right firmness. It's not just about the mentaiko France, it's about FuruFuru! This concludes the review looking back on my six-day stay in Fukuoka (including Saga and Nagasaki). Stay tuned for the Obon holiday edition!

Fukuoka Day 1 ☀️ Freshly made mentaiko croissant! The bakery I had planned to visit opens at 8:30 am and was packed with regulars, so I had to give up. Luckily, I found a gem that opens at 10 am. Even though it was a late morning, it was definitely the right choice. When I took a bite of the crispy croissant, I reached the warm mentaiko inside. The craving for hot coffee also increased, so I chased it down. I was so happy (the girl next to me was also saying how happy she was). I encountered another unforgettable dish. The staff kindly allowed me to take photos and even gave me a big one. The atmosphere of the shop was also wonderful. Thank you for the delicious meal!

This was my first visit after moving near Canal City Hakata. Compared to when it was in Tenjin, there is now a parking lot available. The store is spacious and clean. However, I kind of liked the small store back in the day haha. Of course, I came here for the Mentai France♫ I enjoyed it as a snack with my evening drink. Thank you for the meal.

Fukuoka Trip Day 1, 3rd Meal: On the way to Canal City, I discovered a sign that said "Freshly baked over 50 times a day?" Intrigued, I decided to buy one. Priced at 450 yen each, it was still warm from being baked, only about 10 minutes ago. The outside was crispy while the inside was soft and fluffy, creating a delightful texture. It was generously filled with mentaiko (spicy cod roe), yet not too spicy thanks to the butter. The perfect balance of flavors made it easy to eat, with the added convenience of pre-cutting it into bite-sized pieces. I stumbled upon this shop by chance, but it definitely deserves high praise.

Visited around 1:00 pm on a weekday (Friday). The main purpose was the mentaiko French bread! I was disappointed when the Fluffy Tenjin Pan Factory, where I used to frequent three years ago, closed down, but I was excited to find out that Fluffy had opened in Hakata, which is close to my hotel. Compared to the Tenjin Pan Factory, the store is larger with an eat-in space, and they offer a wide variety of bread. They keep adding freshly baked bread, and all the staff are kind and friendly! You can see how prosperous Fluffy has become in the past three years. "We can give you a freshly baked mentaiko French bread in about 3-4 minutes, is that okay with you?" asked the staff. Luckily, I got the freshly baked bread! As I was about to pick up the last piece of tea and orange bread with tongs, another staff member handed me a large freshly baked one from the tray, saying, "Please have this one!" I was impressed by how customer-oriented the store was. "With this kind of hospitality, no wonder they are thriving," I thought. Of course, the bread was delicious! It may seem a bit pricey, but considering the service and everything else, it's a reasonable price! Thank you for the meal!

The French bread is crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy overall, making it easy to eat in one go. The mentaiko French bread is delicious, especially when eaten right away rather than reheated. I also like the crispy donuts.

I don't usually go to bakeries, but I went to one with my boss on a business trip because he wanted to try the Mentaiko France bread instead of the hotel's breakfast buffet. I don't think the culture of having Mentaiko France bread for breakfast is really popular among people in Fukuoka. We found a bakery near Canal City and ordered the freshly baked Mentaiko France bread at the counter. It was just out of the oven and still warm when we got it. The bread had a nice crunch without being too hard, and the Mentaiko paste and butter filling was delicious. It made for a great breakfast, even though it was already past 10 am.

The freshly baked mentaiko French bread is exquisite. It's great that there is a seating area available for dining in. A generous cup of hot coffee costs only 300 yen, which is very reasonable. The couple next to me ordered orange juice, and it looked delicious with its rich color. Everything on the menu, not just the mentaiko French bread, seems tasty, and I would definitely become a regular if this place was in my neighborhood.

On this day, I went out for lunch because I have a live performance by Kyoka Yasoi (formerly of HKT48) at night. I had a morning set, ramen, and khao man gai. On my way back to my accommodation from Hakata Station, I stopped by FuruFuru. Before heading back the next day, I had to buy some mentaiko-flavored snacks. While waiting in line at the register, I found some chewy soft French bread. I already had bought some soft French bread from Bakery Hakata in the morning, but I had to buy this one for comparison. I took a picture of the bag outside the store, just like Rino Sashihara (HKT48). I finally ate the mentaiko-flavored French bread on New Year's Day. It was my first time waiting two days to eat something I bought, but it was worth it. The mentaiko and butter (I think) soaked into the bread, making it soft and delicious. I also tried the chewy soft French bread at a different time (I might have forgotten to take a picture). It was indeed chewy and tasty, although it was a bit smaller than I expected.

✨Recommended for✨ - Those who want to eat freshly made delicious mentaiko France - Even if you're alone, you can enjoy it with wine at the eat-in counter - Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture. As seen on TV, Yuki Yoda from Nogizaka46 also introduced a different store, but this store is the most popular in the local gourmet introduction episode! ✨Atmosphere✨ - Top 5 popular items are exquisite - Stylish and beautiful interior - Eat-in counter only, solo-friendly - Located right near Canal City Hakata ✨Ordering Mentaiko France✨ - You order only the mentaiko France at the register❗️ They provide freshly baked mentaiko France more than 50 times a day! There is a notice in the store about the baking time. Let's get the freshly baked one! ✨Menu - Takeout✨ - Mentaiko France ✨ ¥450 The unbeatable popular No. 1 My relative, who used to cook at a cafe, said it was delicious. They mentioned it was so delicious that they repeated it during their trip. - Chestnut and Macadamia ✨ ¥280 Popular No. 2 At first glance, it may look a bit plain, but when you take a bite, you can feel the sweetness of the chestnut, the aroma of the bread, and the texture of the macadamia, each quietly asserting itself! As you eat, the chestnut flavor also subtly emerges. A luxurious item that lives up to its No. 2 ranking. - Spiced Curry with 8 Vegetables ✨ ¥230 Popular No. 3 The crispy fried coating, the taste of spiced curry, and the overall balance of the curry bread are exquisite. In a word, it's delicious. Recommended for those who like crispy curry bread! The vegetables are not chunky, but in paste form, so even if you don't like vegetables but like curry bread, you can enjoy it! Truly deserving of the No. 3 ranking. - Rich Milk France ✨ ¥220 My relative, who used to cook at home, said it was delicious. They mentioned it was so delicious that they quietly finished it in the middle of the night, even though they bought it for breakfast. - Choco Nut Pistachio ✨ ¥280 The crunchy texture of nuts and the rich cream of pistachio. Personally, I like this bread. It's heavier than it looks, and the satisfaction level is high.
