Around 1:00 PM, I visited "Shizuya Keihan Kusahiba Store" in Kusahiba Station on the Keihan line. Shizuya is a long-established bakery in Kyoto founded in 1948. Their signature product is the "Carne", a unique fluffy French bread sandwich with ham and onion slices evenly spread with margarine. One of the highlights of this store is the "SIZUYAPAN", an original red bean paste bun incorporating traditional Japanese confectionery elements. The high-quality ingredients and packaging make it a fantastic product. They also offer a variety of bread such as baguettes, dribbles, and spicy pollack roe French bread, as well as sandwiches and pastries. I tried the SHIZUYAPAN ANNOIMO (sweet potato) which had a beautiful shape and delicious flavor. Overall, I recommend Shizuya for its unique and tasty products, perfect for gifts. Thank you for the meal. #bakery #bread #boulangerie #Kyoto #Shizuya #gourmet #Kyoto gourmet #foodie #food lovers #foodie community.

Located in the middle of Keihan Kusahiba Station, Shitsuya is a popular bakery in Kyoto. I bought the Pepper Carne for ¥240 (tax included) and the Danish Pepper Carne for ¥250 (tax included). Despite being simple, the delicious Carne is addictive. Highly recommended.

Local station bakery that has been around for a while, but today was my third time using it. Originally from Kyoto, so I know the taste well. It's not high-end quality, but when you're really hungry and can't resist, you end up eating it quickly. Back when I was a student and didn't have much money, I used to eat here because it was tastier than convenience store food. But recently, my daughter brought home some bread that was surprisingly delicious, which was a pleasant surprise. On this particular day, I really wanted to eat some fruit-flavored hard bread, but I wasn't sure if the shop I had in mind would have it. Since that shop was a bit far from the station and I didn't want to go all the way there and come back empty-handed, I decided to get a backup option from the station bakery. They sell one whole loaf, a half, or a third, and I chose the third option. Even though it was the smallest size, it was still over 10 centimeters long. In this price range, it was a decent hard bread - crispy and fluffy, but with few raisins and lacking in flavor. Ultimately, I was able to get my favorite fruit rouge from the shop I wanted, and when I compared the two, the difference was clear. This bakery might be good for quick cravings, but for me, the popular "Carne" here has never been my favorite. I've never liked margarine, even back in my school days.

In Kansai, there is a well-known bakery chain in Kyoto that has around 20 stores. About 8 years ago, they opened their first store outside of Kyoto in a town in the northeast of Osaka. One of their most famous items is the "Carne" (210 yen), which is a simple yet delicious bread made with bread, special margarine, onions, and ham. It is very popular and loved by many. Another variation is the "Danish Carne" (230 yen), which is similar but made with Danish bread. They also offer a variety of sandwiches and other bread options. The prices are a bit high, but the quality and taste make it worth it. The store is always busy and popular among customers.

Potato salad sandwich for ¥320. When I picked it up, it was bigger than I expected. The filling includes potato salad, lettuce, and ham. The lettuce is crisp and fresh. The potato salad is well-seasoned for a sandwich, which is a good match. The bread is light and slightly dry, with air pockets. It's cool and perfect for this time of year.

Shizuya is a chain bakery shop representing Kyoto, founded in 1948. The name "Shizuya" comes from the founder's wife, Shizuko. It is a favorite soul food spot for bread lovers in Kyoto. This branch at Keihan Kusaka Station is located on the 1st floor of the station building.

▽Danish Carne 220 yen▽ (April 2021)
As the name suggests, this Carne uses Danish pastry dough. The dough has a typical Danish flavor with margarine spread on it, sandwiched with ham and onions. The combination of ham and onions with the margarine adds a nice flavor to the simple yet delicious taste.

Shizuya is a bakery chain beloved by Kyoto residents for a long time. Established in 1948, they now have over 20 stores in Kyoto city. The popular Carne is a specialty of this bakery chain representing Kyoto. This branch at Keihan Kusaka Station is the only one outside of Kyoto, and it is also popular in Osaka. This time, I tried the unique Danish Carne, and it left a good impression. It was surprisingly delicious, comparable to the plain Carne. I would like to try various Carne flavors gradually when I have the chance.

I had some errands at Kuzuha Mall, and on my way back, I decided to stop by Carne to buy some pastries. I didn't notice before, but they have Danish Carne here! I definitely want to try that. I bought the following items: Kyoto Carne (200 yen), Danish Carne (220 yen), Danish Pepper Carne (220 yen), Creamy Cream Bread (190 yen), and Basque-style Cheesecake Danish (230 yen). I will take them home to enjoy. Kyoto Carne is crispy and delicious when toasted in a toaster. It's perfect for breakfast. Danish Carne has a soft and easy-to-eat texture. On the other hand, my wife pointed out that if it's Danish Carne, it's surprising that it became such a hit. She's quite sharp. The Basque-style Cheesecake is like eating a cheesecake, but in the form of a dessert bread. It's covered with plenty of powdered sugar and is soft, with a slightly crispy texture on the edges. I definitely want to eat this again. It's no wonder it's ranked number one in Shitsuya's pastry ranking. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Salted butter premium bread for 150 yen, Jumbo cutlet for 320 yen. The Jumbo cutlet has a sweet and slightly acidic sauce, reminiscent of tonkatsu sauce, and it pairs perfectly with the soft bread. However, I'm not sure why it's called "Jumbo" as the taste is delicious but maybe not worth the price. On the other hand, the premium bread, with just a 10 yen increase in price, is in a completely different league. At first glance, it seems like a crescent roll, with a hard outer layer and a hollow interior where you can taste a hint of saltiness. The edges are crispy and provide a satisfying texture. While it may not have a strong buttery or juicy flavor, it offers a unique and delicious experience in a different category.

This is the only store in Osaka of a bakery that has been in Kyoto for 73 years. Although there are many in Kyoto, it is always very popular due to its location in the station. They open early in the morning, so it's very convenient to use! The specialty here is definitely the "Kyoto Karne," a sandwich made with a bread similar to German Kaiser Semmel, but with a chewy texture that Japanese people love, filled with ham and onions. It's simple but delicious, and priced at 200 yen, which is very affordable. It's surprisingly tasty despite its simple ingredients. The onions are crunchy without being spicy, and the margarine has a subtle salty flavor, evenly spread throughout the bread. Maybe it's because they make it with care even though it's simple? I think it's a taste that can't be replicated at home. This time, I also tried the "Generously Creamy Bread" (190 yen) and the "Chestnut Anpan," which has a long shelf life. Well, these two are just okay. Not particularly delicious or bad (this is just my personal opinion). The Chestnut Anpan is a bit pricey at 280 yen, but it has a long shelf life and is neatly packaged, making it a good choice for gifts. They have a wide variety of bread, all reasonably priced and easy to use. It's great that you can buy them in Suya without having to go all the way to Kyoto! I will definitely go back again.

The pork cutlet sandwich is delicious. The salt bread for ¥140 is not satisfying as it lacks filling and you can't taste the butter. Compared to highly rated places, it is clearly inferior. The carne has a good texture and is delicious in its simplicity. Local bakeries really have a certain charm.

Shitsuya's carne is delicious. I got it after a long time and it was amazing. I also got the cream bread which was also good. I would love to buy and eat them again if I have the chance.

When I visited the Kamiba Mall, I stopped by this shop. It's located right before you reach the Kamiba Mall from Kamiba Station. It's next to a delicious looking delicatessen shop. They are famous for their karne. I remember the shop in Kyoto had a wider variety. I only bought a little bit because I had already eaten in Kyoto. This time, I was going straight home so I bought various delicious breads as I love bread. The anpan was dense and delicious. Overall, the taste was neither good nor bad, just average.

The mini cast scoot pan for 210 yen is hard. It was displayed in the refrigerated section, which made it feel even harder. I think it would be tastier if toasted.

I came to Kuzuha Mall in Hirakata City. Here is my favorite bakery, "Shitsuya Keihan Kusaba Store." Shitsuya's bread can only be bought here in Osaka, so I don't miss this opportunity! I bought my favorite 3-item set:
- Omelette Sandwich: A simple sandwich with lightly toasted bread, margarine, spicy mayonnaise, a thick omelette, and cucumber. The thick omelette provides a satisfying bite.
- Carne: A round French bread with margarine, ham, and sliced onions. Its simplicity makes it delicious and never gets boring.
- Cascade: A hard French bread with boneless ham and processed cheese. The flavor and texture when eaten are just delightful. Another favorite bread of mine.
Looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast! 🌟

I came to Kusunoki-cho. If you come here, you can't help but stop by Shizuya. Now, what should I buy? I walk around the store. And I found Crush Cheese. Shizuya's new staple bread made with domestic wheat. It says on the sign. When you eat it, the cheese attacks you. Cheese lovers will love it. It goes perfectly with French bread. I enjoyed it with wine.

After having lunch at "Gokoku" restaurant, my family wanted some bread, so we walked over to this place for the first time. It seems to be a well-established bakery with several locations in Kyoto, but I wasn't very interested in it. Apparently, according to past reviews, this is the only place outside of Kyoto where you can buy their bread. It's conveniently located right by the Keihan Kuzuha station. Inside, there are various types of bread displayed. The logo of the store is pretty cool! I bought their famous "Carne" and also the "Ultimate Grape Bread" and "Almond Croissant." When I got home, I lightly toasted the Carne, which looked like a hamburger, and tried it. It had a subtle buttery flavor with a hint of ham's saltiness. The crispy onion slices added a nice touch, giving it a simple and nostalgic taste. It must be a long-time favorite due to its simplicity. Next time, I'll try the "Original Beef Cutlet Sandwich" and the "Fluffy Omelette Sandwich" that caught my eye. Thank you for the meal. No dine-in experience, as it was for takeout only.

I finished supporting Honmachi and started a new project today!! However... I ended up being a lunch refugee again today!! But I got some delicious bread at Kusaba Station (laughs). Croque-monsieur for 240 yen, it's heavy and satisfying, the cheese is so delicious! Hehe. Croissant for 170 yen, and a half-sized cast-coat for 190 yen. If it was Parasol Bento in Honmachi, this would definitely be better (laughs). Thank you for the meal! 14-10 Kusabahanaoka-cho, Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture 072-864-5900 8:00-21:00, open every day. Feel free to follow Skasan!! Instagram/Facebook/Twitter. I am participating in blog rankings. Your one click is a source of energy for me!! Recently, everyone's clicks have been increasing (sparkling eyes). Thank you for your continued support!

I may have had too high expectations for the thick omelette sandwich. The seasoning of the eggs was weak, and it didn't taste as good as I had hoped. I also tried other products like Karne and Kascute, which are said to be traditional Kyoto flavors, but I was disappointed. I tried various other dishes, but they were just average. Maybe my taste buds don't agree with it. I usually love Kyoto flavors, so it's a shame that I didn't enjoy it, including the Kyoto-style ozoni.

Today was a smooth day at work with less workload, so I have the day off tomorrow. I went to a bakery to buy breakfast since some other bakeries were closed. I bought a chocolate croissant, a mini croissant, a coffee bran, a walnut cube, and a man's roast pork cutlet. I enjoyed my breakfast with the chocolate croissant being fluffy and crispy with a hint of sweetness, the mini croissant being buttery, the walnut cube having a good texture with lots of walnuts, and the man's roast pork cutlet sandwich being thick and crispy with a great combination of sweet sauce and mustard. It was a bit pricey but worth it. I will update with more later. Thank you for the meal. Today's breakfast: Mini croissant, chocolate croissant, coffee bran, walnut cube, man's roast pork cutlet (390 yen), Total: 720 yen.
