There is a popular udon restaurant in Yao called "Udon Tei Takaraya" where people line up. It is located near the end of the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, Yao Minami. The restaurant attracts customers from both nearby and far away places, causing long queues during business hours. I visited the restaurant after a long time as I had some errands nearby. There are 2 parking spaces in front of the shop and 3 more on the right side, making it convenient for customers who come by car. The restaurant has 4 counter seats, 10 table seats, and 6 tatami seats, accommodating a good number of customers. I sat at the end of the counter and ordered the daily lunch special, "Three kinds of tempura udon." The default noodle amount here is 400g, which is double the amount in regular shops. Be careful not to mistakenly order a large serving! Soon, my order arrived. The bowl was large due to the generous noodle portion. The tempura, especially the large eggplant tempura, was impressive. The meal was accompanied by a small yet flavorful mixed rice. The udon had a glossy and chewy texture, complementing the chilled broth well. The crispy tempura and the tasty rice were also delightful. By the time I finished the meal, I was stuffed. Considering the quality and quantity of the meal, the price of 980 yen is quite amazing. The owner, Mr. Kaji, wants customers to enjoy a fulfilling meal, which is why the restaurant is always busy. If you're interested, you should definitely give it a try. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visit date: 12:30 on Saturday Wait time: None Menu: Sliced chicken and tempura rice bowl (cold, 400g) for 1,150 yen Despite writing in my previous visit that "I will continue to use this place from time to time," it had been about three years since my last visit due to constantly exploring new restaurants. This time, there was a parking spot available right away, so I ordered the sliced chicken and tempura rice bowl. The noodles were just right, not too firm or too soft, with amazing elasticity and delicious taste. The sliced chicken was a bit tough and had a slight smell, as it was duck meat. Personally, I might prefer the tempura chicken as it has more volume. It's a bit inconvenient to get to this place without a car, but the fact that it's not too crowded is also a recommended point. Thank you for the meal.

Osaka Top 100 Store Journey! #2 Udon Takaraya in Yao City, Osaka. Tempura Bukkake for 1150 yen, Niku Ontama Bukkake for 1100 yen. Today, I was tempted by the 980 yen lunch, but decided to go with the Ume Kobu, a classic menu item. I was surprised to find that the regular portion came with two servings of noodles, as stated on the menu. The noodles were shiny and well-arranged, with a good firm texture. The tempura was crispy and the meat was plentiful, very delicious! I recommend going for the slightly smaller portion for 50 yen less. Truly a taste of a top 100 store!

This udon restaurant has high ratings! I visited for work this time, but if it were in my neighborhood, I would definitely come back again! It was crowded with local company workers and residents during lunchtime. The service was good too, overall a great experience!

Takaraya @ Yao Minami / Torichiku Tamaten Bukkake (noodles with a little extra) For some reason, this week Tuesday is also a holiday. So I decided to go out for lunch and found this restaurant while searching online. Yao Minami... I know it's disrespectful to the people living around here, but I once visited Yao Minami and there was nothing there, not even near the station. So I never thought there would be a famous udon shop in a place like this (sorry). I looked it up and it seems to be close to the station, so I decided to go. I took the Tanimachi Line from Taniku and rode it to the end, Yao Minami. Before arriving at Yao Minami, the Kawauchi Ondo was playing in the train. Oh, because it's Yao, that's why they play Kawauchi Ondo! It makes sense! It takes about 5 minutes to walk from the station to the restaurant (I didn't measure it though). The parking lot in front of the store was full. Well, it was lunchtime so it's understandable. The store was almost full, but luckily there was one seat available at the counter, so I sat down right away. I looked at the menu and ordered the Torichiku Tamaten Bukkake with a little extra noodles. The extra noodles option is 600g. By the way, the large serving is 1kg... After a short wait, the dish arrived... or so I thought, but it came surprisingly quickly, in less than 5 minutes (I didn't measure it though). First, I tried the broth. The broth was slightly dark with a strong soup base, a bit on the sweeter side. It was rich but had a refreshing aftertaste. The udon noodles had a chewy texture like gummy candy, not like Sanuki style. The smooth surface of the noodles made them easy to swallow. The tempura had a crispy coating and was fried perfectly. The chicken tempura was firm but tender and juicy. The fish cake tempura had a delicious flavor that spread as you chewed. The egg tempura had a creamy yolk that was irresistible. Who knew there was a hidden gem in Yao Minami? It's just one train ride away, so I'll definitely come back.

"Takaraya" is a popular restaurant located about a 5-6 minute walk from Yao Minami Station on the Osaka Metro. It has been selected as one of the top 100 udon restaurants for two consecutive terms. The restaurant is known for its typical Osaka udon characteristics, with a chewy texture and delicious flavor. I visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and found it quite crowded, with a waiting time of about 10 minutes. The parking lot was also full, with cars from various prefectures. I ordered the "bukkake udon" with a normal amount of noodles. The dish arrived after about 17-18 minutes, and it was a true bukkake udon with a flavorful broth and chewy noodles. The condiments such as tempura flakes, grated ginger, and chopped green onions added a nice touch to the dish. Overall, I was impressed by the delicious udon and the friendly service at Takaraya. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the staff, especially the older lady at the cash register, provided excellent service. I would recommend visiting this restaurant if you have the chance, as it is a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal and savor the flavors of Osaka udon.

Located about a 5-minute walk southeast from Yao Minami Station, the terminal of OsakaMetro Tanimachi Line, "Udon Tei Takaraya" has been selected as one of the top 100 udon restaurants on Tabelog. Currently, it seems that they are closed for the evening hours. Please note that they are closed on Wednesdays and the first and third Sundays of the month. There are 2 parking spaces in front of the store and 3 spaces on the side. Today, I ordered the cold udon dish "Niku Ontama Maitake Bukkake ¥1,200". The neatly arranged shiny udon noodles have a firm and chewy texture with a good elasticity. The noodles go down smoothly and are delicious. The meat, which is sweet and savory, is plentiful and satisfying. The tempura shiitake mushrooms are crispy and hot. Especially the thick stem part of the mushroom is irresistible for mushroom lovers. The contrast between the cold bukkake udon and the hot tempura does not overly chill the stomach, which is good. A normal serving consists of 2 portions, totaling 400g, so it is quite filling.

The lunch specials change depending on the day of the week. I visited on a Thursday, so I got the kitsune wakame bukkake and mini tendon set with a small side dish included. The default portion is already generous with 2 servings (400g) of noodles, but it's doubled for this set! And on top of that, there's a mini tendon included, making it an incredible deal. The udon noodles are glossy and look delicious. They are smooth and slightly chewy, with a firm texture. The broth is flavorful and tasty, with a strong dashi flavor. The thinly sliced fried tofu is sweet and delicious. It's truly delicious udon (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) Yum! The mini tendon is crispy and covered in a delicious tempura sauce. I love how it gets a bit soft when mixed with the rice. It's so satisfying and delicious. The combination of flavors, the generous portions, and the thoughtful small side dish all show why this restaurant is truly outstanding.

Wow, it's been 12 years since my last visit, time sure flies by quickly. I arrived at 11:20 and the parking lot was full, but the staff kindly let me park in their garage. The restaurant was about 60% full, so I sat at the counter, ordered, and waited. It took about 9 minutes for my order to be served. I had the Tori Tama Chiku Tempura Udon with a little extra noodles and extra meat for 1600 yen. The noodles were thin for Sanuki style, but had a great texture and stretch, a true gluten specialist. The aroma of the wheat was really nice and I couldn't stop eating. The chicken tempura and tempura were delicious, very high quality. The meat was a bit tough, but still good. The standout point was the portion size, the little extra noodles for just 100 yen was not so little, it was a special large serving. I'm pretty sure there was over 1kg of noodles, I should have stuck with the regular size.

We always line up, but this time we went with 4 people after the store opened. The tables were already full, but we were able to sit at the counter and were seated promptly. We ordered the tempura udon noodles, which had a good portion size and we were very satisfied. We would like to visit again when we are in the area.

I am Shinosuke Watanabe, a branding consultant in Japan. The other day, I visited Yao City. The reason for my visit was to pay a visit to Tamazo Shrine. I was curious about what shrines in Yao are like, but Tamazo Shrine turned out to be unexpectedly wonderful. If you are interested in shrines, please take a look here: https://youtu.be/jhKViSZv_vc After that, it was lunchtime, so I decided to have lunch. About a 20-minute drive away, I found a udon restaurant called Takaraya. I usually prefer soba, but I have been getting into udon lately. When I arrived, I noticed that even though it was past 1 pm and not in a bustling area, there was still a bit of a wait and the 6 parking spaces were full. It was impressive. I waited for a parking space to open up and then entered the restaurant. The special of the day was Kama Tamago Wakame Udon and Inari Sushi, so I ordered that. An elderly lady was at the register at the entrance, and the interior of the restaurant had a nostalgic feel, so I was curious about what to expect. However, what arrived was a stylishly presented udon. The noodles were shiny and had a good texture, which was wonderful. Branding is not about making things look good or profitable. It is about making a memorable impression by differentiating yourself. Udon has always had a traditional image, including standing udon, and has not been associated with being trendy. But in today's photogenic era, creating a stylish image creates a gap that is the essence of branding. It's unforgettable when you receive a stylish udon in this location and setting.

It's wonderful that it comes with my favorite eggplant tempura and maitake mushroom tempura. The noodles have a firm texture and are chewy with a good bounce, providing a satisfying bite. The noodles have a good throat feel and are delicious. The tempura is crispy and hot! The contrast between the cold bukkake udon and the hot tempura does not chill the stomach too much, which is nice. It's also great that there are many menu options available. I wonder if I should try the chicken tempura udon next time, as the duck udon is only available on weekends...

I tried the Mai Take Nasu Tempura Udon for 950 yen at a udon restaurant in Osaka, Yao, which is one of the top 100 udon shops. The slightly thin udon noodles were delicious, with a firm texture that was satisfying to eat. The portion was quite large with 2 servings of 400g each, so it was quite filling. Overall, it was a delicious meal. #OsakaGourmet #OsakaLunch #Gourmet #LunchCrawl #Noodlestagram #UdonLovers #Udon #UdonStagram #UdonShop #UdonCrawl #Top100Shop #JapaneseFood #RamenNoodles

Duck dipping noodles (kama-age) for around 1650 yen. A bit on the larger side (600g). They don't offer a large portion (1000g) because there's no dipping sauce available. The default serving is 2 portions (400g). My favorite kama-age is only available on weekends. The noodles are uneven in thickness, lacking firmness and chewiness. The dipping sauce is slightly sweet and tasty. The duck meat has a slight gamey taste. After finishing the meal, they serve a broth similar to soba-yu with ginger, which is delicious. The accompanying mixed rice is tasty but nothing outstanding. Overall, the udon was disappointing, but the dipping sauce was good. Cold udon might be better. Personally, I wouldn't revisit this place.

Finally made it to Takaraya, even though it was past 1 PM on a weekday, it was full. I ordered the most popular Chikudama Tori Bukkake Hiyashi, which was delicious and classic. The taste is nothing out of the ordinary, typical of popular restaurants. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. If you're not nearby, it might not be worth going out of your way to visit.

Visited the restaurant for lunch on Saturday with my spouse. There were only 2 parking spots available so we had to park far away and walk. We didn't have to wait in line to get in. We ordered the chicken tempura udon and the eggplant and shiitake mushroom tempura udon. We also ordered a tempura rice bowl for an additional 250 yen. The udon noodles had a good texture and were delicious. The chicken tempura and vegetable tempura were also tasty. We want to try other menu items next time because everything was delicious. However, the tempura rice bowl was just okay. We should have ordered it without the tempura and with a little extra noodles instead.

"Takaraya" in Yao Minami is a selected store of Udon Hyakumeiten. The shop is located away from the city center of Yao. I ordered the "Toriten Curry Udon 300g for 1200 yen". The udon noodles, which are like a brothless style, are not very chewy, but the curry broth is so delicious that I almost drank it all. It doesn't seem to be very spicy. The Toriten (chicken tempura) is about the size of a clenched fist, juicy, and very delicious. It seems that you can increase the udon up to 400g for free, so if you want to eat a lot, I recommend going there. The shop is currently open only for lunch, with irregular closing days, so it would be better to call and confirm in advance.

The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from the Osaka Metro Yao Minami Station. However, it seems more convenient for those using a car due to its location. There are parking spaces for about 5 cars in front and next to the store, but they are likely to be filled most of the time. There is a parking lot in front of Yao Minami Station where you can park for 100 yen per 60 minutes, so it may be a good option to consider. The interior of the restaurant has a calm design with a suburban feel, and the seating is family-friendly with 4 counter seats, 4 tables (3 tables for 2 seats and 1 table for 4 seats), and 2 raised tatami tables (1 table for 2 seats and 1 table for 4 seats), so there is no problem with seating capacity. - Toriten Bukkake (1,100 yen): A generous bowl of udon topped with three large pieces of chicken tempura. The broth is poured over by default, with a plentiful amount similar to cold noodles. The umami flavor of the broth is strong, without being too salty. The combination with freshly squeezed lemon was excellent. The udon noodles are of a standard thickness but have a firm texture. They have a chewy texture reminiscent of Osaka-style udon, but they are more like Sanuki udon. The default portion was quite filling, so a large portion may not be necessary. The chicken tempura was thick and juicy, with a crispy texture when freshly fried. As time passed, the batter absorbed the broth, resulting in a moist but elegant flavor. The garnishes were simple, with only ginger and green onions, but the overall quality of the udon was very high.
