I ordered the Chef's Choice 16-piece sushi set for lunch. I made a reservation and was seated in the middle of the L-shaped counter. The sushi arrived promptly and I enjoyed it with some drinks. I noticed at the end that they had placed the sushi to accommodate left-handed diners. It was a thoughtful gesture. I felt like I was in a scene from "The Lonely Gourmet" at Inokashira. Thank you for the meal.

After shopping in Umeda with my wife, we had lunch in Kitashinchi. We left our children with my wife's parents that day, so we decided to go to a fancy restaurant where we normally can't bring kids, Kurosugi in the New Dive building. We ordered a 16-piece sushi course. Since I had to drive later, unfortunately, I had to stick to non-alcoholic drinks only. We started with a small dish of dashi tofu, then moved on to the sushi. The lineup for the day was: marinated bonito, red snapper with kelp, kohada, amberjack, shrimp, horse mackerel, salmon, seared tarako, seared shad, simmered scallop, seared barracuda, mini ikura rice bowl, medium fatty tuna, eel, shiso cucumber roll, and tamago, for a total of 16 pieces. The sushi rice was on the firmer side, seasoned with a mild red vinegar. The total cost for the 16 pieces of sushi and drinks came to around 12,000 yen per person. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to Kurosugi, a restaurant I used to like, after a long time! It was still delicious as ever (๑>◡<๑) The dessert at the end was particularly delicious. The best part was that it's delicious but you can still get a reservation. I called on a whim the day before and was able to go, which got me really excited.

Now, it's a business trip to Osaka. I arrived at Itami Airport on an early morning flight and quickly took a bus to Umeda. I was really looking forward to this. For lunch, I ordered the sinful Carl'sberg with 16 pieces of sushi course. Oh man, it was delicious. The balance between the fish and rice was perfect. The sweetness of the rice, typical of Osaka style, was skillfully used. Everything was tasty, but the shrimp, medium fatty tuna, squid ear, and salmon were especially delicious. The crispy texture of the salmon was amazing. I wasn't a big fan of amberjack, but the one here was exquisite. The eel, a must-have in Osaka, was also very tasty. The dehydration was well done, concentrating the flavors. The sizes were not too big, making it easy to enjoy each piece. However, I was full from the beer as well. Considering the quality, the price was unbelievably cheap. It seems hard to get a reservation for dinner, but it's easier for lunch, so I definitely want to go back. The head chef was very friendly and we were able to enjoy our meal comfortably. The restaurant was full of inbound customers besides us. The appetizer of eggplant was delicious. We chose the recommended 10-piece sushi set, but we felt like we should have gone for the 16-piece set instead. We would like to come back for dinner as well.

On the 2nd floor of a high-rise office building in Dojima, the sushi is relatively affordable at lunchtime, although it can be expensive at night. I made a reservation for the carefully selected 12-piece sushi course during the weekday. The red vinegar and firm rice were excellent, and the sushi itself allowed the flavors to shine through. The miso soup with sea bream broth was also delicious. More than half of the customers were foreigners.

I visited for lunch and ordered the 10-piece course. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a beautiful building, and the view of the fresh greenery from the window was nice. The sushi was very delicious, with some unique Kansai-style toppings that were interesting. I thought they had made an effort to offer good value for lunch.

I made a reservation for lunch and visited the restaurant. There were three courses available: 10 pieces, 12 pieces, and 20 pieces. I chose the 12-piece course. The chef was friendly and we had a great time. The sushi was delicious. Everyone else there was from overseas, but they seemed to be enjoying the sushi and communicating with the chef. Please make the sushi without wasabi ♡ Everything was delicious!! The size of the rice was just right ♡ I devoured 12 pieces in no time and will definitely go back! It seems that children from elementary school age and up are welcome. They also have private rooms at night, so it seems like it's okay for small children, but please inquire before using.

Head to "Kurosugi" in Osaka's Oe Bridge for non-conveyor belt sushi. I ordered the ladies' lunch set and enjoyed carefully crafted sushi at the bright counter. The red snapper and additional horse mackerel I ordered had the perfect amount of fat and were irresistible. You can also enjoy alcohol during the day and order additional sushi, but the portions are not large, so it's more of a light snack.

The food was delicious. I had various new discoveries and enjoyed it deliciously. I would like to come back again. The alcohol is often expensive. However, there are also reasonably priced drinks like Nabeshima that make you think, "This is so delicious." I'm thinking about what to do next time around this area. It was so delicious that I will visit again.

The landmark of Kita-Shinchi, Osaka's representative high-class entertainment district, is the newly built building surrounded by greenery, with several restaurants on the lower floors. One of them is "Kokusugi," where the atmosphere is refined and many customers are accompanied by someone. Adjusting to Kita-Shinchi is not just about the ambiance. For example, the "yellowtail" dish comes with a condiment made of the core of white leeks and ginger, resembling garlic but without the strong smell. The yellowtail itself has been aged for two weeks, resulting in a rich fatty flavor. Other appetizers include egg tofu with citrus scent, blowfish wrapped in scallions, eel on a skewer with a salty touch, and more. The sushi lineup features various fish like mackerel, sweet shrimp coated in egg yolk, hairy crab, and more, ending with a luxurious sea urchin and salmon roe bowl. This sushi restaurant in Kita-Shinchi seems to capture the trend of Edomae style while catering to the sake drinkers with its strong flavors. I made a reservation for lunch and requested the chef's choice course for one person. I enjoyed dishes like eel skewers, Lake Biwa trout miso grill, edamame, and marinated horse mackerel. The sushi was delicious, especially the shinko. The vinegar-marinated horse mackerel and swordtip squid with shichimi and sudachi were delightful. I mentioned my preferences, but some items were not available. However, I was able to add my favorite item when asked for additional options. The attention to detail could have made the experience even more impressive. Overall, the meal filled me up without leaving a lasting impression. It was nice to see my favorite drink, Torikai, available.

Lunch at Sushi WEST 2022 Top 100 Restaurants: Selected 12 pieces for ¥8,800. Located in Kita-Shinchi, Osaka, "Kokusugi" is a sushi restaurant. I made a last-minute reservation for lunch on Saturday and was surprised to find that I was the only guest, haha. It was a one-on-one experience with the chef. There were other chefs preparing, as well as staff in the hall. It's a hybrid style that combines traditional Edo-style sushi with the sushi culture of Kansai. There were about three menu options for lunch. I chose the 12-piece course in the middle. The meal started with "simmered octopus" as an appetizer, followed by nigiri. The lineup was unique, with grilled conger eel and eel nigiri leaving a strong impression. The rice was seasoned mainly with red vinegar, and the nigiri were slightly on the smaller side. Lunch is reasonably priced and reservations seem easy to make. Please note that lunch payment is cash only. If you want to have a quick sushi lunch in Osaka, this is the place to go. 1. This skewer is the best match for sake and delicious. Today, the head chef was absent so the apprentice took charge of making the sushi. The 10-seat counter was full. In a great atmosphere, the sake kept flowing. Sushi and, of course, sake go well together. The overall amount was perfect for someone like me who can't eat much. Thank you for the meal.

I was disappointed. There was no excitement like last time, and there was no fruit dessert because it was just lunch. I don't know if my taste buds have become more refined, or if it was because it was just lunch, or maybe my companion was not good. The menu included octopus, flounder, bonito, hamo, plum-flavored horse mackerel, octopus and squid with soy sauce and salted sudachi, gunkan with salmon roe and scallops, gunkan with salmon roe and tamago yaki, and miso soup with white miso.

The restaurant was fully booked, but the sushi chefs worked efficiently to serve us promptly. I particularly liked the gentle red vinegar flavor in the sushi rice, and we found ourselves ordering more dishes as we chatted and ate. We ended our meal with simmered clams and conger eel, which were delicious. The seasonal pike conger was especially tasty. I knew in advance that the head chef wouldn't be there, but they rushed through the meal because they had another reservation in an hour. I went to enjoy a sushi lunch in a new area, but it was disappointing. The taste of the sushi was good with red vinegar. I will try going back during a regular time.

When I was living in Osaka, I used to visit Kurosugi-san's restaurant often and I love it. I think it's been about 6 years since my last visit. The shari here is made with red vinegar and no sugar, yet it has a surprisingly sweet taste. I was hooked on this shari and decided to visit again. It was my first time in a while, and I was a little disappointed that the chef had removed the counter and switched to private rooms. But it's all good, I couldn't chat with the chef this time, but that's okay. Overall, I was satisfied with everything. I heard they will be opening a second branch in July, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.
