キレートれもん
I usually eat as much cake and chicken as I want, so I wasn't too excited about it... Plus, after a few days of rest, it's time for New Year's dishes, right? I kept telling myself that, but I still wanted cake~! (anguish) So, I quickly ended the remote work and dashed to the department store. I thought to myself, I should learn from those who make reservations in advance every year. (>_<) If you don't make a reservation, this is what happens, a lesson learned. Anyway, I patrolled around and finally went into Demel, which I had been curious about for a while. In my mind, their cakes were for special occasions or celebrations, so I had been putting it off. "Oh well, today is the day," I decided as I lined up. Without even looking at the showcase, I realized that the tower-like Kirsh cake I had my eye on was not available during Christmas time, which was a shock... With a heavy heart, I ended up choosing two other cakes that caught my eye. [Today's purchases] Truffle Torte @756 yen This cake also caught my eye. It was big for me, so I ate it in two servings. The surface was decorated for Christmas with shiny silver and holly chocolate. It was not too sweet, and eating it felt like eating a rich truffle. It goes well with strong coffee. Chocolat Griotte Cherry @648 yen Since the Kirsh tart I wanted was not available during Christmas time, I chose this one instead. At first, the top looked like crispy chocolate, but when I put my fork in, it turned out to be gooey chocolate. (a bit surprising) It had layers of chocolate sponge and chocolate mousse, with a hint of Griotte cherry (French sour cherry) with a touch of liquor. I later found out that during Christmas time, different items are displayed in the showcase compared to the regular menu. ★ Pistachio and Berry Schnitten ★ Eltbeaer Overtorte (a rare shortcake at Demel) is also a limited edition cake that enthusiasts will love. By the way, there was a seal of the manufacturing place on the cake box, and for some reason, it was from Ueno. Well, it's not Ueno's fault, but Demel and Ueno... it just felt a bit odd. After looking it up on wiki, it seems that Ueno Fuzuki-do handles Japan's Demel. Oh, interesting, interesting, interesting.
