Masaya is a long-established soba restaurant located in Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, near the Nanyakuin intersection on the Jonan Line. The restaurant was originally founded by Takeshi Miyahara in Showa 37, taking over a dining hall called "Masaya" in the Higashi Ward of Fukuoka City. The current owner, Koji, the son of Takeshi, runs the restaurant, offering a wide range of menu items including soba, udon, and rice bowls. One of their specialties is the "Ramen" made with original chicken broth, which has gained popularity among customers. Despite being known for their delicious soba noodles, many customers now visit specifically for their Ramen. The restaurant was even featured on a popular TV show called "Minasan no Okage de" for their unexpectedly delicious Ramen, receiving the "Nanoni Tran☆☆☆" certification. The cozy restaurant has a retro charm, with a TV displaying the certification and photos of celebrities who have visited the restaurant. During a recent visit, the reviewer ordered the Ramen and enjoyed the flavorful chicken broth and tender noodles. The toppings, including boiled egg, chashu, bean sprouts, and mushrooms, complemented the dish perfectly. The reviewer highly recommends Masaya for their delicious Ramen and plans to visit again in the future.

While driving through the Yakuin area, I stumbled upon a retro-looking soba noodle shop. I found out that their ramen is popular, so I had to stop by! I ordered the ramen with fried chicken set. The ramen was a nostalgic and refreshing tonkotsu (pork bone) flavor, and the soup was so good that I couldn't stop slurping it. But with the fried chicken and rice set, I knew I had to use the soup as a broth for round two! After finishing the noodles, I started on the fried chicken set. The chicken was crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside, and the rice was delicious. The soup and fried chicken paired perfectly, and I finished everything without leaving a single drop. Maybe I had too much salt, but it was incredibly tasty. The flavors weren't particularly bold, but it had a gentle and inviting quality that made me want to come back again and again. It's the charm of a long-established restaurant. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I wandered in search of lunch and ended up at Masaya-san's, a famous soba restaurant known for its delicious ramen. Today, I ordered the standard ramen. The restaurant was busy but not crowded, with even elderly customers enjoying their meals. It's a renowned spot that supports the local lunch scene in the area. And of course, the food was delicious!

Located about a 5-minute walk from Yakuin-Oodori Station, "Sobadokoro Masaya" is a cozy soba restaurant with a down-to-earth atmosphere that makes it easy for solo diners to feel welcome. While they specialize in soba, they also offer a variety of udon and ramen options, allowing customers to choose based on their mood. During lunchtime, the place is bustling with office workers, and they also receive many takeout orders. Although the seating capacity is listed as 30 seats, it feels slightly more cramped in reality. For this visit, I ordered the fried chicken set, which is only available during lunchtime (11-2pm). The set includes ramen, a small portion of rice, and two pieces of fried chicken, offering a generous amount of food. The ramen had a soy sauce tonkotsu base with a traditional flavor profile. The noodle texture was normal this time, but I regretted not ordering them extra firm. The toppings included egg, bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, chashu pork, and scallions, creating a well-balanced combination. The rice was slightly on the softer side. The fried chicken was a highlight, with a crispy coating and juicy interior, making it a delicious addition to the set. The strong flavors paired well with the rice, making it a satisfying meal. I am curious about their udon and soba options and look forward to trying them next time.

Today, I wasn't very hungry and decided to walk a bit to find something light to eat. I came across a soba restaurant and decided to go in. I found out from Tabelog that their ramen is popular, so even though I wanted soba, I ordered the Chashu Ramen for 860 yen instead of the regular ramen for 650 yen. The Chashu Ramen came with about 4 slices of chashu and other toppings similar to a regular ramen. The soup was rich but not overpowering, made with chicken broth instead of pork bone. The noodles were thin and straight, similar to Hiyamugi noodles. Overall, it had a gentle flavor. In my opinion, the only difference between the Chashu Ramen and the regular ramen is the extra chashu slices, which may not be worth the extra 210 yen. I think the regular ramen would be a better deal. But then again, since it's a soba restaurant, I think soba would have been tastier. It made me reflect on how there are always restaurants that are known for something unexpected like "a soba restaurant with popular ramen." I remembered a similar place in front of Shizuoka Station as I headed back home.

"Soba restaurant Masaya" has been labeled with the unfortunate title of being a shop that serves delicious ramen despite being a soba shop, and it has even been featured on a national television program. Intrigued by this, I attempted to visit during lunchtime but was discouraged by the full house. Therefore, I decided to visit in the evening when it might not be as crowded. Upon entering, I noticed a display case that exuded a sense of nostalgia, showcasing samples of ramen and champon. Parked outside were delivery motorcycles, indicating a bustling business. The interior featured five tables with a total of 20 seats, giving off more of a local Chinese eatery vibe than a traditional soba shop. However, the cleanliness of the establishment was commendable. The menu offered typical options like zaru soba and oroshi soba, followed by toppings like tanuki, maruten, and gobou ten. Towards the end of the menu, there were unexpected choices such as ramen, champon, and plate udon. Although tempted to try the rumored ramen, I opted for the katsudon set, a classic dish that seemed more in line with a soba shop's offerings. The katsu was thin, but the generous amount of flavorful and aromatic sauce soaked into the rice showcased the essence of dashi, which is a staple in soba shops. The next time I visit, I will consider trying the ramen, champon, or plate udon. The staff's natural and friendly demeanor added to the pleasant experience, prompting me to return in the future.

I missed the intended restaurant because all the parking lots were full, so I ended up at a udon shop that surprisingly had delicious ramen. It was just a regular ramen, nothing special. Maybe I'll come back another time and try the katsudon.

It's a soba restaurant, but they also serve udon, ramen, and champon. This is a popular, down-to-earth soba restaurant in Fukuoka, known for its famous ramen. Despite being featured in the media as a "great ramen place," it still remains a local favorite. Located in a residential area in Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, the restaurant is known for its ramen even though it's a soba place. The menu includes rice bowls, curry rice, and fried chicken sets. The interior has counter seats and mainly table seats, with dividers for COVID-19 precautions. The champon set was popular during my visit, followed by the udon set. I ordered the ramen, which is a chicken-based shoyu soup with chashu slices, wood ear mushrooms, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, green onions, and a boiled egg. The noodles were straight and thin, and the chashu was light yet flavorful. The restaurant also offers champon, champon on a plate, and udon on a plate, all priced at 730 yen. The "udon on a plate" is made with champon noodles, while the "champon on a plate" is like a sauce-less yakisoba. I tried the yakisoba and it was delicious. I look forward to trying the champon or fried chicken set next time.

I visited "Sobadokoro Masaya" in Yakuin, Chuo Ward. I ordered the Katsu Curry Udon (850 yen) which is curry with breaded pork on soba noodles, along with a side of white rice (medium: 210 yen). This restaurant was introduced as having delicious ramen even though it is a soba shop on the TV show "Nanoni Shuran" by the comedy duo "Tonneruzu". Despite it being past 2pm, the restaurant was bustling with customers as they operate continuously throughout the day. After placing my order, it only took a few minutes until my meal arrived. The beef curry, which was stretched with dashi (broth), contained chunks of beef, potatoes, and carrots. Not only the curry, but also the aroma of the dashi was delightful. The soba noodles soaked in the dashi were delicious, but the curry-soaked katsu (breaded pork) was also fantastic! I enjoyed the katsu with the white rice as a side, then finished the soba noodles and turned it into curry rice by pouring the remaining curry over it. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food!

Around 11:30 on a Saturday, I stopped by this place near Yakuin Odori. Even at 11:30, the restaurant was quite crowded. The solo seats had acrylic boards for infection prevention. The chef and a woman were serving customers, while a man was in the kitchen. I opted for ramen and kashiwa onigiri, although the karaage set also looked good. The previous customer seemed to have ordered champon, but my ramen arrived first. It had a nice aroma, thin noodles, wood ear mushrooms, boiled egg, bamboo shoots, and lean chashu. I thought it would be light, but it turned out to have a good pork bone or chicken broth flavor. The noodles were thin but had a slight elasticity to them. They didn't feel too stretchy. The kashiwa onigiri had a strong flavor, well-packed so it felt more substantial than it looked. I wanted more, so I ordered an extra serving. The extra serving had a nice aroma, probably because of the light soup that came with it. It had a sweet broth aroma. The menu offered various options like set meals with rice bowls, karaage, champon, and a variety of noodle dishes. I quickly ordered ramen and kashiwa onigiri this time, but I might have a hard time choosing next time I visit.

Located in the Yakuin 2-chome area of Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, just a 7-minute walk from Yakuin Odori Subway Station, is a mixed-use building on the first floor with a large sign that reads "Soba Restaurant Masaya". However, to my surprise, the customers who come in order "ramen" at this shop, which is part of the "Nanoni Tran" series. The old-fashioned display case exudes a nostalgic Showa era vibe, adding to the retro charm of the place. Despite being a soba restaurant, they also offer udon, curry, champon, and even offer delivery, continuing to be supported by the local residents. I decided to try their famous ramen. First, I tasted the soup - delicious! The soup, made from a gentle simmer of chicken bones and pork cartilage, combined with the soy sauce seasoning typical of a soba restaurant, has a nostalgic and simple flavor reminiscent of the original style of "Japanese-style ramen". The noodles are thin and slightly soft, but still within an acceptable range. The toppings include chashu, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, menma, and a seasoned egg. This is a soba and ramen shop that I would like to visit occasionally. Thank you for the meal. Enjoy Ramen Life☆

Until now, I used to order ramen on its own or a set with zaru soba, but I thought there might be a karaage set and decided to order it! I noticed that it said the karaage would take 10 minutes to prepare. The ramen must have been ready first and left for 10 minutes, because what arrived was a clump of noodles. The karaage was crispy and delicious, and the ramen soup was also really tasty. We laughed and joked that we should have just ordered separately with my colleague after paying. Maybe next time we'll try again!

It's a soba restaurant, but they also have udon, curry, and champon - a typical casual soba eatery in Fukuoka. I tried their specialty ramen. Located in a corner of Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, surrounded by apartment buildings in Yakuin. Despite being a soba restaurant, the signboard reads "Ramen" (laughs). It's a busy place for takeout due to the residential area. I entered while looking at the showcase in front of the shop. The menu offers a variety of options besides soba, making it a tough choice. Inside the restaurant, the tables are separated by vinyl sheets for COVID-19 measures. The menu includes soba, udon, ramen, champon, and plate udon for noodles, as well as rice bowls, onigiri, curry rice, katsu curry, and tonkatsu set for rice dishes. They also sell delicious fried chicken. I've never had soba here, despite it being a soba restaurant. The ramen costs 650 yen and looks the same as it did about 10 years ago. It's a chicken soy sauce flavor, not tonkotsu, with a decent richness. You can also get extra noodles. I also tried the oyakodon for 730 yen. It's not the trendy runny egg oyakodon, but a well-seasoned one with firm egg and brown color. It was delicious with the white rice. I visited the restaurant around 3 pm on a regular afternoon. There were 2 groups of customers before me and 1 group after me. I thought it was a continuous shop, but it seems they take a break from 4 to 5 pm. I can leave at odd times, so I'm thinking about where to go next, and this place seems good. I will be driving from work, and although the restaurant doesn't have a parking lot, there are parking lots around here. However, many of them charge over 200 yen for 30 minutes. I park my car and stand in front of the shop, where the sign for ramen is prominent, but the atmosphere feels like a soba noodle shop. Inside, there are only table seats, no counter. Even though I was alone, I was guided to a 4-person table, with each table separated by vinyl for COVID-19 measures. I quickly looked at the menu and found one menu item that caught my eye - "Sara Champon?" From the picture, it looked like a Fukuoka-style plate udon. I ordered it and it was served in about 5 minutes. Indeed, it looked like Fukuoka-style plate udon, but it was surprisingly light! It wasn't made with pork bones, but with chicken bones? And they didn't use lard either? It was so refreshing! The noodles didn't have a burnt flavor and seemed to just soak up the soup. There were plenty of vegetables, lots of pork, and various fish cakes. It looked like it wouldn't be very filling, but it didn't disappear even as I ate. Since it was light, I added extra pepper early on and added sauce twice for flavor variation. Chewing on the variety of vegetables took time, and I was full after about 10 minutes of eating. It was a good decision not to order rice. The staff here are all very friendly, and there are many menu items I want to try. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

"Soba restaurant Masaya in Yakuin. Recently on TV, there was a soba restaurant called Masaya in Yakuin. A certain feminist scholar visited. It's located on a corner in an area with high-end condos, but apparently their ramen is delicious. It used to be featured on the TV show "Nanoni Toran," and they have a certificate from that time displayed. The ramen costs 650 yen. The soup is a bit richer than the TV impression, with a chicken broth base. I generally like chicken-based ramen. The chashu is large but slightly tough. It would be nice if they could make it into chicken ham or something. It's an old restaurant, but they accept PayPay. It's a bit far for me, so I can't go often, but I hope they continue to thrive. ● Shop information Soba restaurant Masaya 092-781-3697 2-10-1 Yakuin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City Business hours: 11:00-20:00 Closed on Sundays and holidays"

After many years, I had a craving for champon and decided to visit this old soba shop which is actually famous for its delicious ramen. Personally, I recommend ordering the champon with less pepper even though it is known for its strong pepper flavor. The champon costs 730 yen and includes ingredients such as cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, red and white kamaboko, chikuwa, and pork belly, all in a light yet flavorful broth with chewy noodles. The three different types of fish cakes add a nice texture contrast. The beef curry costs 900 yen and has a nostalgic beef curry flavor with a good amount of beef in it. Although the portion of pork cutlet is small, it is crispy and tasty. I haven't had soba in a long time, so I plan to try it next time.

The title says it all - a soba restaurant where ramen is more popular than soba. Personally, I think the soba is delicious enough, but my husband, who loves ramen, always orders ramen! We stopped by this restaurant on our way back from visiting a nearby hospital. They also offer delivery service, as there were three bikes parked in front of the restaurant. The inside was filled with many customers, almost full, but the food was served quickly after ordering. The ramen had a very flavorful soup that paired well with the noodles, making it very delicious. This is because we shared my husband's ramen and my soba. The soba was also elegant and delicious, comparable to high-end restaurants.

Thanks to the TV show "Waratte Iitomo," this restaurant was featured for serving delicious ramen despite being a soba shop. The restaurant proudly displays the award certificate they received on the show. The atmosphere is that of a typical local soba shop, and the proprietress is very friendly and welcoming. The ramen has a pork bone-like flavor but is light and refreshing. It's a great place to visit when your stomach is feeling tired. I hope this restaurant continues to thrive for a long time to come.
