Today, I went to a restaurant called "Uosho Waki" in Shiga Island with my colleagues for a meal. It was recommended by my workmates and had a great atmosphere. We could see the sea, and there were squid and sharks swimming in tanks. We started with ordering squid, which was chewy and had a nice texture. I also ordered the set menu for 2800 yen, which included luxurious and fresh sashimi like tuna, shrimp, yellowtail, and sea urchin. The tuna was especially soft and melted in my mouth. Later, we had squid tempura, and by then, I was completely satisfied and full. The parking lot is small, so it might be a good idea to make a reservation before going. I recommend this place for those who want to enjoy sashimi while admiring the view.

It's a shame that you need a car to get there! The seafood was so fresh that the sashimi was crunchy. The miso soup and chawanmushi were also delicious with great broth. I ordered the seafood bowl, which included sashimi, tempura, and simmered dishes. The prices were a bit high, but the parking was not easy to enter. However, if you park by the wide road in front, it should be fine as there isn't much traffic.

During my trip to Fukuoka, I visited a restaurant recommended as the best among similar ones on the island. Despite it being a weekday, I went without a reservation assuming it wouldn't be crowded, but it was almost full. To my surprise, the "Bamboo Kaiseki" which I planned to order for fresh sashimi was sold out for the day. However, they offered the "Ume Kaiseki" instead, which I ended up ordering. My kids shared a tempura set meal. Although I had to compromise with the "Ume Kaiseki," it turned out to be satisfying in terms of quality and quantity. The kids were also happy with their tempura set meal. The view was great, and the value for money was high. I wish there was a similar restaurant nearby.

The squid was incredibly delicious. The fried tentacles and salt-grilled squid were also delicious.

I went there when I returned to my hometown. It's my favorite restaurant because the fish is fresh and you can eat a lot.

I was brought here by an acquaintance and was worried about how far I would be taken, but as soon as I saw the live fish tank in the restaurant, I was greatly impressed! I have had squid sashimi before, but it is rare to find it in that size! Thank you!!

Location is a restaurant in Hiroshi Island, Higashi-ku, not a famous restaurant in Shiga Island, but I found this place when looking for a restaurant with good reviews online. I arrived around 2:30 PM, a bit late for lunch. The staff informed me that most of the fish in the fish tank had been sold out, so they couldn't serve sashimi or tempura, which was a big shock. They did have a simmered dish available. The restaurant had a fish tank in the center, but it was indeed almost empty. The view of the sea was visible from the table seats. The water was self-service. We ordered the luxurious set meal for 7000 yen each, with the main dish being lobster. We also ordered beer for 600 yen, which was delicious. The dishes that were served as a service with the set meal were also included in the price. The fish soup had a rich flavor, and the steamed egg custard was piping hot. The spinach salad, bamboo shoots, and hijiki side dishes were delicious. The main dish, lobster, had a significant presence, and the purple sea urchin was sweet and tasty. The lobster was firm and delicious, and the other sashimi dishes were also tasty. The radish pickles were beautifully presented and fresh. We were surprised to find a chunk of radish under the lobster. We also ordered condiments for ponzu sauce. After finishing the meal, we had the lobster miso soup, which was surprisingly delicious. The rich flavor of the lobster broth and the generous amount of lobster miso made us feel happy. Although it was quite expensive, considering the amount of lobster we got, the price seemed reasonable. Taste: 41/50, Cost performance: 11/20, Atmosphere: 12/20, Service: 6/10. Overall rating: 70/100. Address: 1375-2092-603-1286, Hiro, Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

This is a restaurant in Hiro on Shiga Island where you can enjoy fisherman's cuisine. The owner, Yasuma Wakei, prepares seasonal fish alive in a large tank inside the restaurant and serves them as sashimi or sashimi. We visited the restaurant as a group of 16 people for a post-Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival gathering. The restaurant offers a wonderful view of Hakata Bay from its large windows, although it was a bit disappointing that it was cloudy due to the rainy season. The first dish was a small bowl of Kawahagi, which was delicious when mixed with its liver. The second dish was squid with vinegar miso, followed by pickled sardines. The first sashimi served was Tai (sea bream). We also had grilled Turban shells right in front of us, which was a surprising experience. The owner's brothers, who are fishermen, provided us with about 3kg of flounder and Ishidai. The flounder sashimi was excellent, especially with the Engawa (fin muscle) in the middle. We also had Chawanmushi, which was already filling. Live squid sashimi is a must-have in Hakata's seafood cuisine. We also enjoyed some tempura, and the grilled fish head of Ishidai. The owner made Tai meshi (sea bream rice) in front of us, which was delicious. The meal ended with Tai soup and tempura made from the leftover squid parts. The dessert was a traditional Japanese sweet. It was a long time since I had eaten so much fish until my stomach was full, and the leftovers served as dinner for my wife and me the next day. The restaurant is located in Hiro, Shiga Island.

My friend who lives on Shiga Island took me to this restaurant saying, "This is the best food on Shiga Island." I trust their recommendation, so I went there twice. Both times I had the daily lunch set. It felt like eating at a fisherman's house, especially the room next to the fish tank, which had a homely atmosphere. Eating by the sea makes the food taste even better. It wasn't just a quick lunch, but more like a leisurely sightseeing lunch. The sashimi, simmered dish, and all the other dishes were delicious. Everyone I brought with me was also very happy. Local recommendations really are trustworthy.

Upon arriving for our reservation, we were led to a tatami room towards the back of the restaurant. We were overwhelmed by the generous assortment of sashimi (tuna, white fish, squid, etc.), tempura, simmered fish, and more - enough to make any seafood lover cry with joy. Even the leftover squid legs were quickly transformed into tempura and continued to assault our stomachs relentlessly. In addition to that, we were served grilled turban shell, fried fish, chawanmushi, and more without a moment to rest our mouths. This restaurant truly stands out for its extravagant offerings.

Today was Keichitsu. With some free time, I decided to take a drive around Shiga Island. It was around 6 pm, so dusk was approaching. As I drove along the coastline, I stumbled upon a restaurant called "Uotokoro Waki." Feeling a bit peckish, I decided to stop by for a Sazae (turban shell) rice bowl. Inside the restaurant, there were tanks filled with squid, flounder, and various other fish. There were dining tables on the roadside, divided into smoking and non-smoking sections. When I looked at the menu, I noticed that everything was over 1,000 yen. I thought it was a bit pricey, but upon reading the menu again, I understood that the restaurant prided itself on using fish caught in Shiga Island. When I asked if they had a Sazae rice bowl, they happily agreed to make one specially for me for 1,000 yen. I sat in the non-smoking section, where I could see Hakata Bay through the window. It was a luxurious moment, with the sunset just fading and the evening setting in, and the lights of Nishinoura twinkling in the distance. I indulged in some daydreaming about having a meal alone at a time like this, and after a short wait, my Sazae rice bowl arrived. It was the peak season for Sazae, after all. The Sazae was cooked in a scrambled egg style, with a hint of seaweed aroma. Alongside it was a delicious miso soup and pickled stem wakame, which was absolutely exquisite - sweet, savory, with just the right amount of crunch and tenderness. I even bought two packs of the pickled wakame as a souvenir to enjoy with sake. It was a great restaurant that showed a love for the local ingredients. Thank you for the meal.
