I visited this shop during my trip to Fukuoka. After visiting Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and seeing it on social media, I decided to try the pudding ice cream. It was a little after 2 pm on a Saturday, but I was able to be seated without waiting. Instead of cold water, they served cold tea, which was nice. I ordered the pudding ice cream for 550 yen, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't taste much like pudding as I had imagined. The price of 550 yen felt a bit high, to be honest. However, the dessert looks great in photos, so I think it will become popular among younger people.

A cafe that opened in December 2020, located in a renovated traditional Japanese house popular among young people for its Instagrammable pudding ice cream cups and for exploring the local food scene in Dazaifu. The owner's vision was to revitalize the over 100-year-old historic house and bring back its lively atmosphere from the past. The cafe has been a hit since its opening, offering a variety of Instagram-worthy products like fresh pudding ice cream. The owner pays attention to creating a cozy atmosphere inside the cafe, using traditional Japanese paper for decorations and domestically produced tatami mats for the flooring. Ghibli music box melodies play in the background, and seasonal decorations like dolls are displayed. The cafe is located about 110 meters north from the second torii gate of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. It is a 3-minute walk from Dazaifu Station. Operating hours are from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (closing when sold out). The cafe has 14 seats and reservations are available. The popular menu item is the Kodorigaishi Fresh Pudding. The ordered menu item was the Fresh Pudding Ice Cream Custard. Served in an aluminum container, you use a wooden spoon to gently warm and remove the ice cream, which is shaped like custard pudding. The top part is caramel sauce, while the bottom is custard cream-like ice cream. When you take a bite, it starts off crunchy and then melts into a smooth and wobbly texture, making it a perfect treat for a hot day of exploring local food scenes.

I went to Dazaifu and felt like having something sweet, so I visited this place. I had a custard pudding and matcha. The custard pudding was delicious. It was soft, not too firm, and had a light yet deep flavor. The warabi mochi that came with the matcha was also very tasty. It had a chewy texture and the right amount of sweetness. The matcha itself was not too sweet, making it a perfect match with the sweets. The balance of flavors was well thought out. The interior of the shop is in an old Japanese house, creating a nostalgic atmosphere that is lovely. I went with my husband, but it seems like a fun place to visit with friends as well. I visited during the hot season, and it was a perfect place to cool off.

I enjoyed a very cute pudding ice cream as the final stop of my food tour in Dazaifu. The shop had a nostalgic atmosphere that made me feel warm and welcomed, and the staff were very friendly. I decided to sit on a nearby bench to enjoy my treat because it felt like the pudding might fall while walking and eating.

I went to the "Kotorii Chaho" in Dazaifu, where you can get takeout of their famous raw pudding ice cream. I tried the Raw Pudding Ice Cream for 550 yen and the Matcha Raw Pudding Ice Cream for 660 yen. They looked really cute and had a unique texture that was not quite like pudding, but still delicious. The Matcha Raw Pudding Ice Cream is only available during the Matcha Fair from August 20th to 22nd. The video may make it look like the pudding is jiggly, but it's actually quite firm. It was a delicious treat.

Eating and walking in Dazaifu. Tried the pudding ice cream! I thought it was just about the looks, but it was really delicious (lol). It's the kind of ice cream that you wouldn't find in convenience stores, so I wish I could buy it there. If you go to Dazaifu, be sure to try it out!

This is a stylish old folk house cafe. Although not young, the appearance is cute, so I had a live pudding ice cream. I had a regular one and a matcha one with my friend. We took them out of the container once, took a picture, and then put them back in the container to eat. They were both delicious.
