I offer my sympathy for the scorching heat (*´꒳`*) It's too hot to go outside, but my kids don't even want to go for a walk! So, I decided to go alone. First, I went to refill my car's oil... Maybe my brain was fried from the heat? I intended to order a fish set meal, but ended up with a different set meal due to pressing the wrong button! I still can't handle the heat. It was a complete defeat.

My colleague in the passenger seat insisted on eating tempura no matter what. We ended up going to a nearby restaurant called Tempura Shichi Hachi for lunch. I ordered the conger eel set meal for 980 yen, which came with conger eel, white fish, shrimp, and vegetables. They also provided salted squid and pickled vegetables on the table. Different types of salt were available upon request. The meal included tempura dipping sauce, a grill, rice, and miso soup. The tempura was served hot and crispy, and it was delicious. My colleague, who ordered the same set meal, finished everything and seemed satisfied. Overall, the tempura had a light and crispy texture, making it easy to eat. It was a great meal.

I had a craving for salted squid and tempura from this place after a long time, so I went there today. I ordered the Nana Hachi set meal with a medium serving of rice. The price had gone up, it was 980 yen. The tempura included eggplant, shrimp, sweet potato, white fish, squid, pork loin, and lotus root. Condiments like shichimi pepper and matcha salt were not on the table, but the staff will provide them if you ask. Only yuzu pepper seemed to be charged extra. The tempura was delicious and I finished it all because I was really hungry. There were a lot of customers and there was a bit of a wait.

I was originally planning to go to a different restaurant, but I changed my mind after hearing a senior reviewer's harsh criticism. I couldn't even register as a new user. Since it's difficult to go to a similar place like Tempura Hiraoto in Amagi, I decided to try this place and had some delicious hot tempura. It was really tasty. Thank you for the meal!

I entered the restaurant and purchased a meal ticket. I ordered the meat set meal with extra rice. I was seated and soon the broth and extra rice arrived, followed by the tempura. It was light and crispy, and very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

A tempura restaurant in Amagi. The seating is only at the counter, a common type of tempura restaurant in Fukuoka. Their specialty is the rice. Today, I had the shrimp set meal. It came with 3 shrimp tempura, pumpkin, white fish, and lotus root. The shrimp tempura was crispy and delicious. The rice was also as good as the reviews said, making it easy to eat. Thank you for the meal!

This is a so-called "Hakata-style" tempura restaurant, "Tempura Nanaya," located near the Amagi Interchange on the Oita Expressway in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Despite the initial skepticism, my sister and her husband rushed to visit our family member who was in a critical condition in the hospital and managed to see them for a short time. Before the visit, my sister expressed her desire to have lunch at "Tempura Nanaya." We ordered the Nanaya set meal with medium rice for me and my brother-in-law, and the conger eel set meal with small rice for my sister. The restaurant was busy, but the service was quick and the tempura was served fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and the spacing between tables was adequate. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience. I recommend visiting this restaurant, especially if you are in the area for a drive.

"Nanaya" is pronounced that way. There is also a store in Kajima, Kumamoto, and the main store is located in Asakura. I went there for dinner in the evening. Due to COVID, the seats were a bit spaced out, but it was quite lively and I had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated. It's a restaurant where you can eat freshly fried tempura at a reasonable price, typically at the counter. In Fukuoka, there is a strong image of Hiraosan, and this place is very similar. There are pickled vegetables and salted squid on the counter for unlimited refills, just like that. I ordered the Shichihachi set meal with various tempura options, and added eel and chicken breast as extra toppings. The total came to about 1200 yen. Compared to the perfect service at Hiraosan where they ask "What's the secret behind this?", the service here may have a few flaws, possibly due to the staff being part-timers. However, the quality of the tempura itself is quite solid, and nothing beats freshly fried tempura. The cost performance is excellent, as you get rice, miso soup, and salted squid at a reasonable price. I think this culture of casual tempura dining, I personally thought it was a Fukuoka thing.

Near Oita Expressway Amagi IC, I found a tempura restaurant! It's great to buy food tickets in advance, but it can be tough to decide which menu to choose. When I entered the restaurant, I was seated and in front of me, there were tempura dishes proudly displayed. Those who have been to Tempura Restaurant Hiraoka will understand. This was my first time visiting, so I chose to have a small amount on my plate (to avoid making a mistake). The taste was good, but the portion of rice was small and the tempura pieces were a bit small too. It was a busy lunchtime on a holiday, so there were quite a few guests. There are no other places in the vicinity of Asakura City where you can eat in the same style as "Hiraoka," so it's not a bad choice. If I ever have trouble deciding where to eat next time, I'll go back. The area around Amagi IC is full of junk food places, so this was a nice treat. Thank you for the meal! This time's menu: - Meat set meal: 870 yen (tax included)

I wanted to eat tempura, so I visited this tempura restaurant. The tempura is served one by one as soon as it is fried. While waiting for the tempura to arrive, I enjoyed rice with squid salted guts and pickled vegetables. Today, I chose the fish set. It included white fish, sand borer, 3 types of vegetables, shrimp, and squid. The squid was skewered with its cartilage, which was a nice surprise. I prefer this squid with cartilage over regular squid, so I enjoyed it very much.

Freshly fried tempura. I visited for lunch and ordered the healthy set meal. The salted fish roe here has a perfect yuzu flavor, not too salty and crispy to eat. I ended up getting seconds (laughs). The tempura is also crispy and delicious. It's as good as a certain famous restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is clean too, I will definitely visit again.

In Asakura City, the tempura restaurant is just as good as the one in Fukuoka City. You can line up and eat, which is great. This time, I visited after 7 pm. The restaurant layout is similar to Hirao-san's. Only counter seats are available. I tried the Nana-hachi set meal this time. The salted squid at the Fukuoka tempura restaurant has yuzu mixed in, which is delicious. The style of having a dish brought to you after it's fried is the same. Once again, I am grateful to the restaurant staff for the delicious meal. I will definitely visit again.

In just a couple of days, MyRebi-sama and others uploaded reviews of tempura and tempura rice bowls one after another. Seeing the delicious tempura dishes, I, with a weak body, developed the terrible condition known as "tempura craving syndrome." If I don't treat it immediately, I could develop the costly "meat craving fever" or the deadly "saba-kuiteena infection" which is almost impossible to get serum for at this time of year. This is where Fukuoka's pride, "Hakata-style tempura," comes into play. In the town where Kagura, a country dweller, lives, there is no "H-rao" or "D-uma," but in the neighboring Asakura City, there is "Tempura Shichihachi." After a few years since its opening, the restaurant was not very crowded, but for the past two years or so, it has been packed. I visited the restaurant around 11:30 am. The interior of the restaurant has two counters surrounded by fryers, with a capacity of about 50 people. They were only seating customers at one of the counters, but more than half of the seats were already taken. I bought a ticket for the Shichihachi set meal and was seated. Rice, miso soup, and tempura dipping sauce were served, so I casually helped myself to the complimentary "yuzu-flavored salted squid" in a small dish. Surprisingly, this salted squid and pickles are all you can eat. Well, since it's a complimentary item, let's enjoy it in moderation. When squid was scarce and prices went up, the major restaurant H-rao stopped offering complimentary salted squid, but this place continued to do so. There must have been customers who looked forward to this salted squid, so they couldn't stop offering it. That's pretty cool, right? Tempura dishes were served one after another, starting with pumpkin, eggplant, shrimp, white fish, squid, pork loin, and green pepper. They are served hot with the tempura dipping sauce. It's natural since they are freshly fried. Pork loin tempura might be rare nationwide, but it's a staple in Fukuoka. I eat it with curry salt. Alright, I finished it cleanly. I think maybe it would be better to switch the order of pumpkin and green pepper. Pumpkin has a sweet element and green pepper fries faster. Additional items can be ordered as well. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back from my friend's hometown, it was around lunchtime so I decided to visit a tempura restaurant that I had been wanting to try for a while. The entrance was located along a narrow road that has been used as a shortcut for a long time. Inside, there were two counters arranged in a "L" shape, guiding customers alternately to avoid crowding. The format was exactly the same as "Tempura Shop Hira" and the squid shio-koji tasted similar. The tempura pieces were large and fresh, exceeding my expectations and leaving me very satisfied! This is a restaurant I would like to visit again.

I went to Tempura Shichihachi in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The weather was sunny before the state of emergency was declared, and it was a pleasant spring day. I was feeling great and not hungover. My stomach was growling, so I decided to go to Tempura Shichihachi. I usually order the Shichihachi set meal for 800 yen, but this time I saw the Special A set meal for 1500 yen. It included 2 shrimp, blowfish, tsukune (chicken meatballs), red eggplant, komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), urui (Japanese butterbur), nanohana (rapeseed flowers), mini salad, rice, and miso soup with free refills. I changed my order to the Special A set meal. They also gave me free squid salted guts. The tempura was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. The seasoning of the tempura sauce was just right. I enjoyed the meal with happiness and a full stomach. I will continue to support local businesses cautiously but without fear, little by little, as we recover from the period of self-restraint due to the coronavirus.

During our trip, we stopped by a restaurant on a weekday before noon and there were already over 10 customers. I ordered the "Nanahachi Teishoku" which included shrimp, white fish, squid, pork, pumpkin, eggplant, and green pepper. My partner ordered the "Ebi Teishoku" which came with three shrimp, squid, pumpkin, eggplant, and green pepper, along with rice and miso soup. The pickled mustard greens and squid marinated in salt were all you can eat. The tempura was served in the Hira-oyaji style, very hot and of good quality and quantity. The rice and miso soup were delicious as well. Thank you for the wonderful meal. Customers kept coming in one after another.

Colleagues recommended a shop called "Tempura Shichi-Hachi." They said it offers counter-style tempura similar to "Hirao," "Daruma," and "Maki." When they visited before noon, the spacious parking lot was already 80% full. It seems to be a very popular place! There is a large menu with pictures outside, so they chose their dishes and entered the shop. They used a ticket vending machine to order, and despite not being a fan of them, they found it easy to use. They ordered the Shichi-Hachi set meal (shrimp, white fish, squid, pork, and three types of vegetables) for 870 yen. The shop is quite large, with two frying stations and around 50 counter seats. They handed their ticket to the staff and waited. They enjoyed the squid shiokara and pickled mustard greens while waiting for their meal. The squid shiokara was particularly delicious. The tempura was served fresh in front of them, starting with pumpkin, eggplant, shrimp, white fish (possibly cod), squid cartilage, pork, and green pepper. The tempura was accompanied by daikon radish dipping sauce with three types of salt: regular, matcha, and curry. The rice portion was a bit small, so they regretted not ordering the larger size. The shop quickly filled up, and they were impressed by the staff's ability to serve so many customers without making mistakes. The parking lot was also full, with a waiting line forming. Overall, they had a great experience at the shop in Amagi, even though they still mistakenly think of it as being in Amagi City instead of Asakura City.

The restaurant "Tempura Nanaya" is pronounced as "nanaya," and I visited it almost 10 years ago when it just opened. I remember taking home their complimentary tempura scraps and enjoying them. I have always thought that this place, specializing in Fukuhaku-style tempura, is worth featuring. It is strange that there are not many similar restaurants in the Chikugo area, but interestingly, when I went to Kumamoto, I found quite a few. The main branch in Amagi is located along a road to the east of the main street heading towards the old Amagi city area, which may be a bit of a challenge to find. However, the parking lot is spacious, and the overall convenience seems good. The restaurant uses a ticket vending machine system and has only counter seats, similar to "Hirao" mentioned earlier, but with a different layout. There are around 40-50 seats, so the parking lot may fill up quickly. The "Nanaya Set Meal with Small Rice" costs 840 yen, and the rice portion can be adjusted. The rice is made from local Akizuki-grown Hino Hikari rice and tastes delicious. I visited around 3 pm, and the place was still quite busy, indicating its popularity. The complimentary side dishes included takana (pickled mustard greens) and salted squid, with the latter having a refreshing Yuzu flavor. The tempura items included shrimp, squid, eggplant, pumpkin, white fish, pork loin, and green pepper. The pork loin was particularly delicious, with a rich flavor and a satisfying texture. However, the green pepper was extremely bitter, leaving a bad aftertaste. Overall, the meal was enjoyable, but the absence of the tempura scraps from my previous visit was disappointing. If they had been included, the experience would have been even better. I would have given a higher rating if they had maintained the same level of service as before.

The drive back to Oita always involved taking Route 386 and stopping at Moss for a break, but this time I felt like trying a different place. I had seen this particular restaurant's sign before, so I decided to look it up and pay a visit. I was glad to see that they were open until 9 pm. Near the Tagaki Interchange, there are plenty of other dining options. The restaurant was new, and the menu featured items like salted squid, similar to a tempura restaurant in Fukuoka. I ordered the fish set meal, which included shrimp and large vegetables. I was satisfied with the portion size and quality. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Tonight, I visited "Tempura Nanaya Asakura Main Store." There is a signboard in front of AEON, and you go straight ahead. I parked my car in the spacious parking lot and entered the store. I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine. The kitchen is surrounded by counter seats, and there are two areas, which are quite spacious. The water is self-service. I ordered the Nanaya set meal (tax included 850 yen) with a medium serving of rice. The staff fried the tempura at a good pace and served it freshly fried. The Nanaya set meal includes shrimp, pork loin, white fish, squid, eggplant, pumpkin, and green pepper, along with rice, miso soup, and a lot of grated daikon radish in a generous amount of tempura dipping sauce. The tempura dipping sauce with grated daikon radish is refreshing and goes well with the tempura. The thin and fluffy batter is skillfully fried. Also, you can enjoy squid marinated in salt (apparently a local specialty) and pickled vegetables as much as you like. They use rice from Akizuki, and the rice is delicious, so you might want a bit more. The amount for a medium serving is a bit small. It's strange that the rice runs out before the tempura. It's a good taste and convenient, but considering the price of 850 yen, I feel like it could be a bit more satisfying. Thank you for the meal!
