Is this a soba restaurant? Niku soba restaurant, Kuma Tenjin Building food court ally, ally of lunch refugees_:(´ཀ`」 ∠): Today as well, in order to help the refugees, I have taken a break on my day off. I purchased a niku soba (regular flat noodles, 870 yen) from the ticket machine and entered the counter-only restaurant. Um, is this because of the coronavirus? There were unused seats, so I moved to the other side and managed to sit down. After that, there was a person in a hurry asking for a refund for the ticket they purchased. It seemed like they were the only one working, so it would take some time, but they seemed quite elderly, so the order of service was also mixed up. Well, there are two types of noodles and boiling time, so I convinced myself to wait for about 10 minutes. Is this really soba?_:(´ཀ`」 ∠): But I like flat noodles, so it's okay^_^ I eat it by dipping it in the broth. The flavor is quite strong, isn't it? It goes well with the meat, right? At some point, I added a complimentary raw egg and it gave a mellow taste. After finishing the noodles, I added dashi to enjoy it. Wait, is this actually tsukemen? (´Д` ) While thinking that, I left the restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

I found this place on Tabelog and decided to visit. The restaurant only had counter seating. I chose the Wanko soba (100% buckwheat) over the flat Chinese-style noodles. I ordered the Niku Soba (soba with meat) because I was in the mood for soba. It took a little while for the food to come out, as indicated on the ticket machine. The dipping sauce seemed to have chili oil, which made me cough a bit when I slurped it. However, it paired well with the meat and green onions. They also provided instructions on how to enjoy the dish, such as adding tempura flakes for a richer flavor or requesting a raw egg to make it milder (I skipped this option because I don't like raw eggs). I finished the dipping sauce and even drank the soba broth at the end. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to a soba restaurant located in the Tenjin underground shopping area. Since I was nearby, I decided to go in. The interior of the restaurant consists of only counter seats, with a limited number of seats. The atmosphere is similar to a standing soba shop. Most of the customers were dining alone. Due to the location, there were various types of people coming in. The system required purchasing a meal ticket first. I ordered the "Niku Soba," which is a soba dish with meat. I thought this might be their specialty, so I chose it. The "Wa Soba" is Japanese soba, while the "Special Flat Noodles" are Chinese-style soba. Since I was at a soba restaurant, I opted for the Japanese soba. As for the taste, hmmm. The soba noodles were very thick, about twice the size of regular Japanese soba noodles. Therefore, it took quite some time to cook. The dipping sauce was sweet and savory. It was okay, but I'm not sure if it really matched the soba (it might be better with a barbecue sauce...). Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Thank you.

Fukuoka's largest downtown area, Tenjin. There is a wide underground shopping area beneath Tenjin, which is popular for its bright atmosphere and shopping. There are also several dining options in the basement of the Tenjin Building adjacent to Tenjin Station underground mall. I decided to have lunch and went down to the basement. All the restaurants were crowded during lunchtime, but I found this one. It had high ratings online. I felt like having spicy dipping soba after a long time. The casual atmosphere seemed inviting, so I decided to give it a try. I purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine at the entrance. I chose the most popular menu item at this restaurant, the chicken soba. I sat at the counter inside the restaurant and handed over my meal ticket for the chicken soba and a bottle of beer. The beer arrived first. A cold beer in the middle of the day is so good! Since there was only one staff member handling everything, it took a bit of time, but then the chicken soba arrived. The soba noodles were firm and had a spicy broth that complemented them well. The broth was warm. The chicken had a good texture and was delicious. I've started to appreciate the deliciousness of dipping cold noodles in warm broth recently, and this restaurant did it really well. Having chicken soba for lunch with a beer was satisfying. Delicious lunch experience.

I had the meat soba (large serving, 1070 yen). It wasn't an instant, mind-blowing deliciousness, but more of the type of place you'd want to visit again from time to time. It's not ramen, not tsukemen, not hiyashi chuka... It was tasty, thank you for the meal!

Here is Kukai, a restaurant that specializes in thick soba noodles served with a sweet and savory dipping sauce, with their signature dish being the meat soba. I used to frequent a similar establishment in Hakata, which I enjoyed, but it closed down. After a hiatus of about 2 and a half years, I finally returned to Kukai. On this day, I ordered the meat soba (with thick soba noodles) in a large portion. The thick soba noodles had a firm texture and the sweet and savory sauce did not lose its flavor even when soaked in the noodles. When there was just a little bit of soba left, I mixed it with the remaining sauce and meat, and slurped it all up. While I was generally satisfied with the unchanged meat soba, I did notice that the beef was a bit dry. I felt that it was important to pay attention to the quality of the simmered beef as well. There is a highly popular restaurant near Osaka Castle that serves a similar dish, and when comparing the two, I couldn't help but feel that Kukai falls a bit short. Thank you for the meal!

On the second day of a business trip, I had a quick work lunch at a restaurant in the basement food court near the office. I chose a dish called "niku soba" thinking it was just soba noodles, but they also had chuka soba. I ended up getting the chuka soba even though I had ramen the night before. The noodles were flat and smooth, and the dipping sauce had a good balance of spiciness and sweetness with a generous amount of sesame seeds. The beef in the dish was cooked in a sweet and savory sauce, which paired well with the dipping sauce. I wish there was a bit more meat though. I also added some small pieces of fried tempura for an extra touch. Overall, I found the dish a bit too sweet for my liking, and I wished they had vinegar available at the counter.

I wonder why I thought meat soba would be delicious... No matter which aspect of the restaurant I look at, it's like eating at a third-rate home. The unnecessarily sweet soba soup, lacking the flavor of sesame oil and chili oil. Even if it's cheap and convenient, I will never go back because of the atmosphere and attitude.

Today I had plans and went to Tenjin for lunch time! I revisited a place where I have been a few times in the past. The shop offers a "Niku Soba" with thick soba noodles topped with meat. The shop has a small counter with about 8 seats, and you purchase your meal ticket from a ticket machine before sitting down. The menu includes Mori Soba, Niku Soba, and Tori Soba, with a choice of either soba or Chinese noodles.
- Niku Soba Large (1,070 yen)
This time I went for the standard option and got the large size since I was hungry. In just 10 minutes, the soba arrived at the counter! The meat and soba piled high looked beautiful. The cold thick noodles had a chewy texture. The dipping sauce with chili oil required caution when slurping. The slightly sweet soba broth paired well with the chili oil. The sweet and spicy simmered meat added a nice touch. I tried adding tempura flakes halfway through, and if it wasn't spicy enough, I added some shichimi pepper. To finish, I diluted the sauce with soba water. Adding soba water enhanced the sweetness of the broth. The dish was topped generously with green onions, giving a strong onion flavor, but it's a dish I crave periodically. Thank you for the meal!

The first lunch of the year at Tenjin Lunch is at the restaurant called Niku Soba Kuikai. Although I was hesitant about spending over 1000 yen right at the beginning, I decided to order the Niku Oomori Soba. It arrived in about 10 minutes and I added some tempura flakes. It was delicious! The meat was tasty, reminding me of the flavor of the meat that used to be in my middle school bento. The soba noodles were firm and chewy, not slippery, and had a nice texture. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you. It feels a bit strange in terms of the seasonal atmosphere, but I would like to come back when it gets hotter in the summer.

I think the meat soba was around 800 yen. I finally got to visit this restaurant I've been wanting to go to. It's a "why not" ramen place that can be found in various locations in the Kanto region. The food arrived quickly. The soba noodles and chili oil go well together. However, considering the price and portion size, I gave it this rating. Thank you for the meal.

One day's lunch♪ The restaurant is called "Niku Soba Kuukai" located in the underground food court of Tenjin Building. Although it is closed now, a few years ago there was a restaurant with the same name in Odabe serving Niku Soba, I wonder if they are related... The restaurant has an L-shaped counter seat area separated by curtains. There is a ticket machine outside where you buy your meal ticket and hand it over to the lady staff. You can choose between flat Chinese-style noodles or thick Japanese soba noodles. I chose the thick Japanese soba noodles Niku Soba (870 yen). The menu mentioned that the cooking time for the thick noodles would be slightly longer than the flat noodles, but it was served in 7-8 minutes. The broth was a spicy soy sauce flavor with chili oil, quite different from the usual spicy Japanese soba. The soba noodles were very thick and hard!! Eating them with the sweet braised beef belly and green onions was quite challenging, not easy to slurp at all. Women might find it difficult to eat this way! The Odabe store used to serve a complimentary raw egg, but here at this store, it seemed like only those who ordered the "Morisoba" were served with a raw egg. The portion of soba was quite generous, and I ended up with a full belly... that's all for now (^^)♪

Located in the heart of Tenjin, Fukuoka, this restaurant specializes in B-grade gourmet dishes such as "tsuke soba" and "niku soba". The establishment has been around for about 10 years and offers a variety of noodle options, including thick soba and flat noodles, with toppings like beef and chicken. The broth is soy sauce-based with added chili oil for a spicy kick. The menu also includes dishes like katsu don and a curry dish from their sister store. The atmosphere is casual with counter seating only. The reviewer ordered the niku soba and tori soba, both served with a flavorful broth and generous portions of meat. The noodles were satisfyingly chewy and perfect for a stamina-boosting meal. Overall, a great spot for a hearty noodle lunch in Tenjin.

I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about but hadn't had the chance to go during business hours. I ordered the special flat noodle with egg for 850 yen, but the dipping sauce didn't come out at first, so it tasted bland. When I asked about it, the response was just "Oh, the dipping sauce didn't come out?" and that was it. They also seemed to be preparing a pork cutlet bowl for another customer, even though it was just past 2 o'clock. The pork cutlet was thick and the sauce was sweet. I tried mixing the soba broth at the end, but it was just average. In my personal opinion, the price is greater than the quality.

I may be more on the side of not being good at tsukemen. So I rarely order it myself, but I tried this restaurant's tsukemen recommended by a friend and it was delicious. The Niku soba with flat noodles and regular size (750 yen) uses rare noodles in Fukuoka. The yellow noodles reminiscent of Sapporo ramen, not as thick as kishimen but flat noodles. You dip them in a sweet and spicy tangy sauce along with simmered meat. It was a lunch that made me feel sad when it was over because it was so delicious. I should have ordered a large portion.

Underground dining area in Tenjin Building. Food ticket. Pork cutlet rice bowl for 920 yen. The owner runs the shop alone, so it takes about 10 minutes from ordering to serving. Even without getting the large portion, I was satisfied with the meal. It was delicious.

I had the meat soba, traditional soba, and a large serving for 1070 yen! The soba broth I know is a bit different, with a strong acidity. But it goes really well with the meat soba. This is a taste that makes me want to come back regularly.

I used to eat in Tenjin more often when I worked there, but now that I work in Gojofukucho, I don't eat in Tenjin as much. Today, I was deciding between getting a large portion of soba or curry, and I ended up choosing curry. It was unexpectedly delicious! Thank you for the meal~ 😄

I ordered a satisfying portion of Wanko Soba and Niku Soba, which paired well with the dipping sauce and had a delicious sweet and savory flavor.
