Tenjin is the most prosperous and lively area in Fukuoka city, and one of my favorite cities in the country. If you walk a little towards the Daimyo area or Yakuin area, you will find some charming restaurants. On this day, we met at Mitsukoshi and walked towards Watanabe Street. In a slightly off-street alley, there are several charming shops scattered around, and this restaurant is among them. The storefront has a calm and casual feel, suitable for a casual date. Inside the restaurant, it feels more relaxed than the exterior, with an atmosphere where you can enjoy delicious snacks. I ordered a set of drinks, sashimi, and grilled dishes. The beer was ice-cold and tasted great after a short walk! The sashimi included white fish, salmon, octopus, and five other types, all of which were quite delicious. Fukuoka is known for its delicious sashimi in the restaurants around the city. The grilled dishes are served on a bed of cabbage, with skewers of grilled chicken, onions, and mackerel. The set was generous in portion and reasonably priced. I also ordered sesame mackerel and seared mackerel, both of which were delicious, but the sesame mackerel was a unique Fukuoka specialty. Mackerel is a great dish to accompany sake. I wanted to drink cold sake, but I have an early morning tomorrow, so I'll enjoy the beer today. The taste of the dishes, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the service of the staff, and the prices were all satisfying. This restaurant is one of the reliable izakayas in Fukuoka with few disappointments.
