Around Hakata Station, I have introduced several shops before, but you can find delicious restaurants one after another! On this day, I searched for various shops to have lunch, but as soon as I saw this sign, I decided to go to this restaurant! When you see this sign, you can't help but be drawn to it - "All-you-can-eat mentaiko." It's a unique experience in Fukuoka, and it catches the attention of both locals and tourists. The name of the restaurant is "Kisumimaru," a chain with several branches in Fukuoka. Although I had heard of the name before, this was my first time visiting this particular restaurant. Of course, the food was delicious too. The restaurant is located in the commercial building "KITTE Hakata" next to Hakata Station, on the 9th floor in the dining floor. It's right next to Hakata Station, so the access is excellent. Even visitors from other prefectures can easily find their way there. When you climb up to the 9th floor of "KITTE Hakata," you will see the long, large noren curtain of "Kisumimaru," making the restaurant easy to spot! There are sometimes lines, but on this day, there was only one group waiting, so we were lucky. And the eye-catching standing sign. Among the many set meals lined up, the customizable set meals ("Choose 2 items set meal" and "Kyushu steamed dish set meal") are appealing. It's nice to be able to choose what you want to eat. And next to it is the "All-you-can-eat mentaiko" sign that I mentioned earlier. You can enjoy the all-you-can-eat mentaiko when you order a set meal or a bowl - a great service! Plus, free refills of rice and miso soup. So, we went inside. There is a drink menu (alcohol) for table seats. You can even drink alcohol from noon. And you order using the touch panel on the tablet. I personally like ordering with a touch panel, so I think it's great. Some people don't like touch panels, but I like them because you can be sure that you will get what you ordered (although there are occasional mistakes or mix-ups...). I chose the "Choose 2 items set meal," which allows you to choose two side dishes, priced at 1,680 yen including tax. I selected the "Gomoku Agedashi Tofu" and the "Assorted Tempura (4 items)." My wife chose the other customizable set meal, the "Kyushu steamed dish set meal" with "Sashimi (3 types)" and "Raizan pork (belly)." By the way, there is a 90-minute time limit for seating. The tempura set meal I ordered arrived without much wait. The tempura and agedashi tofu I chose looked delicious. The agedashi tofu is a rare Gomoku Agedashi Tofu. And here it is! The all-you-can-eat mentaiko and takana (pickled mustard leaves) are served in separate containers. The portions are generous. You can even get rice refills, so we started by enjoying the side dishes with the mentaiko. Although my eyes were drawn to the mentaiko, the tempura, rice, and miso soup were also delicious. The agedashi tofu had a rich flavor, and all the dishes were of high quality. Of course, I had seconds of the mentaiko. Yes, even though I'm from Fukuoka, I don't usually eat this much, so it was nice to be able to eat as much as I wanted! Although it's not like I can eat as much mentaiko as I want, I ended up having another bowl (and also a second bowl of miso soup). I had a total of three bowls and my stomach was fully satisfied. Thank you for the meal. The "Kyushu steamed dish set meal" my wife had looked like this. Even though we each had three bowls of rice, there was still plenty of mentaiko left. So you can enjoy putting as much mentaiko as you want on your rice! This time, we didn't decide to go there from the beginning, but we were lured in by that sign, and it turned out to be a lunch that exceeded our expectations. "Kisumimaru" has several branches in Fukuoka, and there are other places besides this one that offer all-you-can-eat mentaiko, so why not check them out?
