I went to Napoli Tan Kitchen Chururira in Hakata, Fukuoka. It was a bit difficult to find as Google Maps led me to a location with no sign of the restaurant. However, I eventually found it on the ground floor of APA Hotel on a side street. I ordered their Napoli Tan, which is made with thick and chewy noodles that are boiled and then left to rest for a day. The texture was really good! It's a kind of punchy Napoli Tan.

"Napoli-tan specialty store "Chururira" near Hakata Station. It used to operate as a sublease in a yakitori shop along the Kokutai Road. It's located on the 1st floor of a hotel, but the layout feels a bit strange with the kitchen and seating area forced into the space. That might be why you have to buy a ticket from the machine and set up your own water, towels, and forks. The Napoli-tan costs 690 yen, and it's a Japanese original dish that was even selected as one of the world's disappointing foods. But the taste I had as a child is still lingering in my tongue and brain."

I had been to the hotel before it moved, but this was my first time visiting after the relocation. The restaurant is located on the first floor, and you need to purchase a meal ticket at the entrance before entering. The seating area on the right side of the entrance is quite narrow compared to before. However, it is bright with glass windows, and the fact that the front is not facing the road means you don't have to worry about your surroundings. On the left side of the entrance, there is a small area where they keep chilled cheese, but it seems so narrow that I wondered if only staff members were allowed to enter the kitchen area.
I ordered the Napolitan (S・M 690 yen). Both the small and medium sizes are priced the same, but I wasn't asked which size I wanted, so I assume I got the medium size, though I'm not sure. The noodles were thick, but not soft and mushy like school lunch noodles – they had a good chewy texture, similar to champon noodles, and were delicious. Despite being Napolitan, it had Chinese elements like shiitake mushrooms and bok choy, so I thought it was more like "Chapolitan." The texture was crunchy and good, but it didn't really go well with ketchup. However, the Napolitan itself was tasty.
Although it's in a business hotel, I don't think many business travelers or tourists staying there would choose to have lunch here. The location is off the main road, and only people with work-related business in the area would pass by, so even though it's narrow, if you adjust your timing a bit, you can enjoy a quiet meal in this hidden gem.

A pasta restaurant located on the first floor of APA Hotel Hakata Ekimae, less than a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station Hakata Exit. Be careful as there is also an APA Hotel in front of Gion Station. The interior of the restaurant is small, with mainly counter seats. I ordered the Neapolitan pasta for 690 yen plus a large size for 120 yen including tax. The pasta is made by boiling it the day before and letting it sit overnight to achieve a chewy texture. The noodles are indeed thick and chewy, with tomato ketchup sticking around the mouth. It's not a refined pasta dish, but more like a hearty B-grade Neapolitan dish you would find at a coffee shop. The complimentary drink was a nice touch.

I ordered the Teppan Niko Tamago Napoli (780 yen) and a salad (210 yen). The restaurant used to be located near the Chikushi exit of the station, but now it has moved to the Hakata exit near Apa Hotel Hakata Ekimae 2-chome. The interior of the restaurant only has counter seats, and it's so small that it gets full with just four groups. Since it was around 1:30 PM, the restaurant was calm and I was able to enter without any issues. I purchased my meal ticket from the ticket machine, handed it to the staff, and prepared my own water, spoon, and fork. After a few minutes of waiting, my dish arrived! The pasta on the sizzling hot iron plate came with a delicious aroma and made me hungry. I took a bite and it was so tasty! The pasta had a nostalgic ketchup flavor, the thick noodles were chewy, and some parts were crispy from being grilled, which was nice. The ingredients included greens, shiitake mushrooms, onions, bacon, and two eggs, making it a luxurious meal. I finished it in no time! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I revisited the restaurant "Napolitan Kitchen Chururira" in Hakata Ekimae 2-chome, which I have reviewed several times in the past. Every time I visit, I struggle to choose between the classic Romespa, Napolitan, Meat Sauce, and Jari Co, but this time I finally ordered the "Jari Co" in medium size for 580 yen. The signature dish of Romespa is the Jari Co. After a 5-minute wait, the Jari Co in medium size arrived. The noodles were thick and chewy, stir-fried in the Romespa style, but with a twist of soy sauce-flavored mushrooms cooked with shiso. The first bite had a slightly burnt soy sauce flavor reminiscent of yakisoba, followed by the refreshing taste of shiso, giving it a Japanese basil pasta-like flavor. Completely different from Meat Sauce or Napolitan, this light and refreshing Japanese-style pasta is perfect for a day when you want something simple. Just like Romespa, I quickly ordered and quickly enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

On June 30, 2022, I visited "Napolitan Kitchen Chururira," which had relocated and reopened near an Apa Hotel, about a 5-minute walk from Hakata Station's Chikushi exit. The restaurant is not very noticeable from the outside, so it's best to use the hotel as a landmark. Inside, I was surprised to find a small restaurant that quickly filled up with about four groups of customers. Despite being named "Napolitan Kitchen," I decided to try the "Karashimentai" with thick noodles, opting for the "L" size which uses 400g of noodles. The thick noodles, along with komatsuna, onions, and shiitake mushrooms, were stir-fried meticulously, resulting in a chewy texture and excellent seasoning balance. Although my expectations were high given the price, I felt that the margarine flavor slightly overpowered the mentaiko mixed with the noodles, and the topping of spicy mentaiko could have been of higher quality.

The familiar Chururira, known for its thick noodles pasta, has moved. It used to be located on the 1st floor of Hakata Station Hotel Laforesta, but now it has moved to an Apa Hotel in Gion. They are open all day, so it's a great place to have lunch after visiting Canal City. I visited after 2 pm and found the place to be open and spacious with glass walls. Upon entering, there is a ticket machine to purchase your meal ticket. Their specialty is the thickest noodles in Japan, inherited from a long-established Western-style restaurant in Yurakucho. They parboil the thick noodles in a Japanese style and then stir-fry them fresh to order, creating a spaghetti dish from the Showa era. The sweet and sour ketchup sauce with red wine pairs perfectly with the noodles. Last time, you could choose the size of your meal, but this time they didn't ask. They provide extra-large Tabasco and powdered cheese at each table, which you can help yourself to. The coffee after the meal is also self-service. The thick noodles provide a satisfying texture.

This time, I was in the mood for meat for lunch, so I went to Chururira on the 1st floor of the APA Hotel at Hakata Station. Inside the restaurant, it was a ticket system for ordering, and I chose the meat spaghetti. I had to get my own water, and there was a ready-made miso soup available. The sauce was delicious, but the meat was tough. Next time, I will try ordering it rare and see how it turns out!

Recently, I visited the restaurant "Napolitan Kitchen Chururira" on the 1st floor of APAHOTEL Hakata Ekimae 2-chome, which I have been popping into occasionally. I went with a colleague for a quick lunch. I hesitated a bit at the ticket vending machine at the entrance, trying to decide between the Napolitan, Meat Sauce, or Jarico, but ended up choosing the basic Meat Sauce in medium size for 630 yen. I didn't need a lot today, so I kept it light. After about 5 minutes, the Meat Sauce in medium size arrived. It had a generous amount of meat sauce, as expected. The noodles were thick and chewy, typical of the "Romescu" style. It's a faithful combination to the basics. My colleague ordered the "Jarico," a Japanese-style pasta with mushrooms and shiso leaves. Despite the portion size, the taste was light and delicious, with the shiso flavor standing out. This is the beauty of Romescu - quick to order and quick to eat. Thanks for the meal.

Today, I wanted to have a quick lunch so I decided to go to the restaurant "Napolitan Kitchen Chururira" that I found the other day. Last time, I ordered the classic "Romesupa" with meat sauce, but today I saw a sign next to the ticket machine that said "Special Menu C: Curry Spaghetti" for only 480 yen! It arrived in less than 5 minutes and I was surprised by the amount of curry sauce on top. There were plenty of meat toppings, and the portion was so generous that I couldn't believe it was only 480 yen. The noodles were thick and firm, just like last time. The curry sauce was home-style, but with lots of toppings, making it very satisfying to eat. Oh, this size is just perfect for me again! Maybe next time I'll try the "Jarico"? Thank you for the meal.

When I used to work in Tokyo, I sometimes had a craving for what is known as "romesupa." "Romesupa" is a quick and easy spaghetti restaurant where you can eat standing up. The three main characteristics of "romesupa" are as follows: 1) Stir-fried spaghetti from pre-cooked noodles - Spaghetti that has been pre-cooked is stir-fried upon ordering for quick service. 2) Thick noodles that can withstand pre-cooking - The spaghetti noodles are thick and pre-cooked, so they are not al dente. 3) Possibility of extra-large portions - The biggest feature is the ability to order extra-large portions. Recently, a romesupa restaurant has opened on the first floor of APAHOTEL Hakata Ekimae 2-chome in Fukuoka. I visited the restaurant "Napolitan Kitchen Chururira" with a coworker. The restaurant used to operate in Haruyoshi or another location. The interior of the restaurant is quite small, reminiscent of famous romesupa restaurants like "Little Koiwai" and "Japone." There is a ticket vending machine at the entrance where you can check the menu. They offer the classic romesupa dishes like Napolitan, meat sauce, and Jari-ko (a Japanese-style spaghetti with soy sauce and shiso). There are also various other menu options, including curry. After some deliberation, I decided on the meat sauce in size M to start. I waited about 5 minutes for the meat sauce in size M to arrive. It was the perfect size for me, and the meat sauce was generously portioned with spinach in it. The noodles were thick and satisfying to eat. The taste of the meat sauce was nostalgic. My coworker added a side of potato salad, which was a good choice. Recently, romesupa restaurants like Pancho have been opening in places like Hakata Bus Terminal and Ohashi, providing more opportunities to enjoy this type of cuisine. Next time, I think I'll try the Jari-ko. Thank you for the meal.

After seeing it on TV, I really wanted to eat Napolitan, so I ordered it through Uber Eats. The shop opens early in the morning, which was very convenient timing. The thick and chewy noodles were very satisfying and filling! The large amount of eggs was also a nice touch.
