Visited in April 2022, I was curious about enjoying tequila after being smoked by yakiniku at Ola Tacos Bar. It is said that you can enjoy exquisite tortillas that do not have an unpleasant taste and authentic tequila. The place has a chic, open atmosphere with a Mexican vibe (I don't know, though, haha). I started with a Tequila Soda for 830 yen and then proceeded to a tequila tasting. Of course, I couldn't resist ordering all the dishes I was interested in:
- Tacos de carnitas for 720 yen
- Nachos Chico for 830 yen
- Quesadilla Fried Half for 770 yen
The handmade tortillas were the highlight, with a delicious corn flavor that paired well with any dish. I chose the classic carnitas for the tacos, which had tender pork filling, allowing you to enjoy the tortilla simply. The nachos were crispy, with a flavorful bean sauce, chicken, and cheese - truly delicious. The quesadilla had a crispy tortilla shell with plenty of cheese, which was irresistible. It was rich, but the freshness of the guacamole and the tanginess of the sour cream made it easy to devour. I selected the homemade chorizo for the filling, but I was quite drunk on tequila, so I don't remember much. I may have overdone it with the habanero salsa and had a rough morning after.
The tequilas that accompanied these dishes were interesting and complex. I started with a Blanco to enjoy the fresh Blue Agave flavor. When you sip the tequila after biting into a lime, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, making it easier to drink. Next, I tried Mezcal, which is currently popular (a spirit made from various agave plants in states other than those where tequila is produced). Mezcal has a distinctive earthy aroma, as well as hints of citrus and banana, with different flavors depending on the type of agave used. Tequila is so deep, isn't it? No, it's so much fun! The outstanding deliciousness of the tortillas, the high-quality ingredients, and the depth of tequila - if you want to experience the real Mexico, this is definitely the place to go. Thank you for the meal.
