Located right by Osaka Metro Umeda Station, on the B1F of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store. Although it was before my birthday, I was looking for something good for a home drink and stumbled upon this well-known beef tongue restaurant. I have had the beef tongue salt set meal at the restaurant before, but this was my first time seeing so many side dishes. Among them, I picked up the Beef Tongue and Asparagus Marinated 100g and the Beef Tongue and Cucumber Refreshing Salad 100g for 702 yen total. The Beef Tongue and Asparagus Marinated consisted of thinly sliced smoked tongue with asparagus, corn, carrots, lotus root, and more, making a delicious marinated dish. The Beef Tongue and Cucumber Refreshing Salad had white beef tongue slices with a crunchy texture, and I only realized it was tongue after buying and tasting it. It was served with yuzu pepper and salt dressing, and sliced pickled cucumbers with shredded chili pepper.

I purchased the following bento boxes at Hankyu Umeda: Mini Beef Tongue Bowl (648 yen), Beef Tongue Hamburger (648 yen), and Beef Tongue Meatballs (?). The dishes had a nice crunchy texture in some parts, which added a good accent to the meal and made it delicious! Next time, I will try the regular-sized bento box!

I was able to successfully get tickets for the game the day before, so I decided to go watch it at Koshien Stadium. I bought some deli items to bring as snacks for the game, as I always do when I go to a baseball game. This time, I bought Fujian fried noodles and a set of beef tongue as a snack to go with drinks. The beef tongue salad was delicious. I didn't realize that I had become a regular at Koshien Stadium, bringing deli items from Hankyu Department Store. Anyway, it was all very tasty.

I brought a luxurious bento box from the B1F "Toshikazu + Kitchen" at Hankyu Department Store in Umeda for working on a holiday. The popular choice was the 2-color beef tongue rice bowl bento for 1404 yen including tax. I heard that you can enjoy both salt and sauce grilled beef tongue, so I decided to buy it. I warmed it up in the office microwave in the afternoon. The salted beef tongue had a strong flavor that went well with the rice, and it made me feel like having a beer. The spicy miso with beef tongue in the middle was also delicious. Overall, the flavors were quite strong and might not be suitable for children. Looking back, I realized that the beef tongue appetizer set for 1296 yen was a much better deal. Although it didn't come with rice, I could have just bought a plain rice ball from a convenience store. Now I feel like I want to eat more meat...

I purchased a takeout from the restaurant called Ikkyu, known for their beef tongue dishes. While I have dined in at the restaurant before, this was my first time buying a bento. I decided to try the two-color bowl so I could taste both the salt and sauce flavors. As always, the beef tongue here was delicious no matter when I eat it.

It makes me want to enjoy it again in Sendai, where it originates. However, the truth is, we just wanted to use the gift voucher we received. But that's a secret.

On this day, instead of a bento, I ended up buying some small dishes after wandering around. I got beef tongue meatballs in sauce and salt flavors (216 yen each), and a platter with three types of beef tongue (999 yen). They have a variety of options from bento to small dishes, so it's quite convenient here.

After work, I stopped by Hankyu department store after visiting Daimaru. I noticed a crowd gathering at a certain shop, which seemed to be having a time sale. It was a deli shop from a famous restaurant in Sendai called Riku, offering a special deal of 3 items for 1000 yen. The original prices were quite high, so I was impressed to see people buying them. The marinated beef tongue was in the 700 yen range, beef tongue tempura in the 400 yen range, and beef tongue hamburger in the 600 yen range, making it a good deal. The overall taste was on the sweeter side, which made it a bit challenging to pair with alcohol. The marinated beef tongue went well with Viognier, while I ended up pairing the hamburger with beer, which was a bit disappointing from my initial plan. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity to try something different that I don't usually eat.
