It's my birth month, so I celebrated with lunch. I went to a restaurant that MyRebi had visited a while ago. The lunch course included 90g of Okinawa black beef tenderloin and 2 prawns. The course also came with an appetizer, salad, Okinawa vegetables with island tofu and purple sweet potato teppanyaki, rice, pickles, miso soup, seasonal Okinawan vegetable stir-fry, and Okinawan zenzai. And an anniversary plate! The appetizer was green papaya pickles. Sometimes I make it at home, but it's delicious with plenty of bonito flakes sprinkled on top. The salad had a choice of Japanese dressing or Italian dressing. I chose Japanese, which had a nice acidity. The purple sweet potato dumplings teppanyaki was served next. The island tofu and vegetables were cut and grilled on the teppan, which was fun to watch. We enjoyed it with ponzu sauce. The main dish was the prawns. They were served on the teppan, where the flesh was cut from the shell, arranged, and served again. In addition to ponzu sauce, tartar sauce was served, which was incredibly delicious. It was a white sauce but quite eggy, and even though I usually only have a taste of tartar sauce, I generously dipped the prawn shells in it. The prawn heads were compressed and grilled to make prawn crackers. I chose the beef to be cooked medium rare. The tenderloin was thinly sliced and neatly arranged. The sirloin was cut into small pieces. The sirloin fat was grilled for a long time on the edge of the teppan, then finely cut and served on a plate. I didn't take a picture, but it was delicious! Of course, the meat was also excellent. Just when I thought we were done and dessert would be served, goya champuru was cooked. It seemed a bit overcooked. I didn't realize that the course included dessert, Okinawan zenzai (shaved ice with white balls and sweet red beans), so I only had half of it and then had the anniversary plate. It had chocolate terrine, pineapple sorbet, and brownie. I was really full. The coffee that came with the course wasn't very good. Teppanyaki for lunch is reasonable and good. The bright window seat wasn't the best view as you could see the neighboring Lucua.
