The sixth takoyaki experience was at a shop where the energetic manager was calling out in front of the store. The manager was also promoting their broth, which caught my interest. When I tried it, the balance between the outer firmness and inner softness was good. The fluffy part inside had a strong broth flavor. It wasn't just a simple bonito broth, but a complex taste with animal ingredients as well. This was the first time I had takoyaki with such a prominent broth flavor. The presence of the octopus was a bit subtle, but I really liked the broth. Since there is no branch in Umeda, I would like to find a way to visit the main store in Tenjinbashi Rokuchome and have it again.

The third item is Tamaya Zanmai, which you should try when you get tired of regular takoyaki. There are 9 different kinds of takoyaki, and it comes with a guide on how to eat them, making it fun to choose with a friend. Honestly, there were some types of takoyaki that weren't really my taste. I didn't like the plum takoyaki. But on the other hand, there are people who really like it... I personally enjoyed the regular negi-pon and bonito soy sauce flavors. The variety of takoyaki is fantastic. These ones were fluffy. Takoyaki is so interesting!

Located on the way from Universal City Station to Universal Studios Japan, this takoyaki shop is easily accessible. There are about 7 takoyaki shops on the same floor, making it easy to compare and try different ones. I visited on a weekday evening and there was no waiting time at any of the shops, but the takoyaki here stood out with its flavorful dashi-infused batter. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The night before visiting USJ, there is a shopping mall called Universal City Walk under the hotel. There is a shop called Takopa where you can compare and enjoy 6 different flavors of takoyaki from 6 popular Osaka restaurants. The first place I tried was Tamaya, a shop featured in the Michelin Guide for 3 consecutive years. The owner has a background in French cuisine. The takoyaki made with lobster broth was amazing. I decided to keep it simple and enjoy the flavor of the dough, so I ordered the Iwashi Mayo with 9 pieces for 880 yen. The dough was fluffy and creamy, and the takoyaki was delicious. It was my first time trying takoyaki with salt, but it was surprisingly deep and flavorful. Osaka truly knows how to make delicious takoyaki.

I was recommended by the guy at the entrance and entered. I was able to watch them cooking, but the size was completely different and the outside was not crispy at all. I've never had takoyaki in Osaka before, so I was wondering if this is how it is supposed to be. It crumbled even when I tried to pick it up with chopsticks, maybe it was undercooked? Sorry, but the salt was too much, some parts were too salty and spicy.

I used it on the way back from Universal Studios. I ordered takoyaki with eight different seasonings. It has a soft type of takoyaki with a shrimp-flavored dough. It's nice to be able to enjoy different flavors at once. Thank you for the meal. (*´ω`)

After having a fun time with plenty of zombies at USJ, I took a stroll through Takoyaki Park, where 6 takoyaki shops from Universal City Walk gather. The second shop I visited on the takoyaki ladder was run by the owner who appeared on Job Tune, who was personally making the takoyaki. I bought tickets at the cash-only vending machine at the storefront. What I had was the "Delicious Dashi Takoyaki - Akashiyaki Style" for 850 yen and a draft beer for 600 yen. It was a takoyaki that you enjoy with the dashi, more like Akashiyaki itself. It was a delicious takoyaki with a big octopus and a tasty broth. Thank you for the meal.

Today, we tried the classic takoyaki with sauce and mayonnaise. Tamaya's takoyaki is made with a special broth cooked from 20 different ingredients from the sea, land, and mountains. This year's Halloween in Osaka ♫♪♫ In Universal City Walk, there are several takoyaki shops lined up. Among them, we took a break at Tamaya, which was featured on TV. The takoyaki here has a crispy exterior and a creamy interior. There are various flavors available, but I recommend the rock salt mayo with the regular takoyaki. The regular takoyaki was dipped in dashi broth before eating, similar to Akashiyaki. It had a light and delicious flavor. The rock salt mayo was also excellent, with the salt and mayo complementing each other perfectly. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. ♡

This is a takoyaki shop located in TAKOPA at Osaka Universal City. I was intrigued by the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for 3 consecutive years and decided to purchase takoyaki. The shop opened in 2006 in Osaka Tenjinbashi, making it relatively new. I also bought takoyaki from the neighboring shop "Juhachiban" and compared the two. This is the charm of a takoyaki theme park, being able to enjoy different flavors. I ordered the "Tamaya Sanmai" plate which includes various flavors such as negipon, suyaki, yuzu shichimi, cheese curry, rock salt mayo, sauce, soy sauce, and negi dare. Unfortunately, the flavor I was looking for, "ume," was not included. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the takoyaki. My family and I played takoyaki janken (rock-paper-scissors) to choose the flavors. It felt like a professional baseball draft meeting. I chose rock salt mayo as my second pick. The moment I put it in my mouth, I could smell the dashi broth. It seems that the dashi is made from omal ebi and 20 other ingredients. I had takoyaki from three different shops the night before, but this one was the best by far! It was delicious, hot, and the combination with rock salt was great. The negi dare was also tasty! I even realized that the regular sauce was delicious too. The variety of takoyaki flavors was vibrant, but the real highlight was the deliciousness of the takoyaki itself. Of course, creative takoyaki is fun and tasty in its own way, but this takoyaki was already delicious. Perhaps suyaki was the least impressive among them. I didn't try it, so I can't say for sure. Thanks to my trip to Universal Studios, I was able to experience a takoyaki feast. I hope I can visit again soon before the next 10 years for another round of taste comparison.

I went to the third restaurant while trying to conquer all the shops in Takopa at once. The staff recommended the rock salt mayonnaise flavor, so I ordered the rock salt mayonnaise and Akashiyaki. The takoyaki itself had a very delicious umami taste of complex dashi, even compared to other shops! The dashi in the Akashiyaki was also extremely delicious! The rock salt mayonnaise was also a new taste for me, but it was delicious! It has a salty flavor!

This is the final stop of the takoyaki taste comparison tour. This place is known for its use of lobster broth. The recommended topping by the staff is salt mayonnaise, so I chose that. The first bite reveals the rich flavor of lobster in your mouth. I thought this takoyaki went beyond the usual expectations. However, the strong lobster flavor made me slightly tired of it halfway through. It's a luxurious experience, but I might find myself craving this takoyaki again in the future.

There is a takoyaki place in Universal CityWalk outside of USJ. This place had the best takoyaki out of the three I tried last time, so I came here specifically this time. The takoyaki here is the fluffiest and most melty. I ordered a set of four with four different flavors: green onion and ponzu, green onion sauce, rock salt plum, and delicious dashi octopus. The takoyaki was as soft and delicious as always! The melty center is what makes these takoyaki so delicious, like a cream puff. All four flavors were tasty, but my favorite was the green onion and ponzu for its refreshing taste. The dashi octopus had a light and tasty broth. It's described as resembling Akashiyaki, and it really does. The quick turnover means everything is freshly cooked, which adds to the deliciousness. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a takoyaki restaurant on the way back from Universal Studios. Since I was in Osaka, my companion and I decided to try authentic takoyaki. The batter was fluffy and very delicious. The toppings were well-seasoned and complemented the takoyaki perfectly, so I didn't get tired of eating them. I wanted to try more flavors, but it was time to go back... I hope to have the chance to try other varieties next time!

In Universal City Walk, there is a takoyaki restaurant called "Takopa" where six famous takoyaki shops from Osaka have opened. This time, three of us visited and compared the tastes of three shops (Tamaya, Juuhachiban, Koga-ryu). Tamaya has been selected as a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Their commitment includes adding natural umami to the dough, providing visual creativity, and collaborating with staple foods. They use a special broth with ingredients such as lobster, pork bone, chicken bones, and various vegetables. Their ultimate selling point is the broth made from lobster. You can choose from two types, 5 pieces each, for a total of 10 pieces for 900 yen, with an additional cup of broth for 200 yen, making a total of 1100 yen. The soy sauce and rock salt mayonnaise are also available. The separately sold broth was tried and found to be quite delicious. In terms of cost performance, it was the worst among the three shops with 10 pieces and a separately sold broth for 1100 yen. However, the way they cook their takoyaki here is incredibly fluffy and soft, with the inside dough being melt-in-your-mouth. This is delicious! As someone from Osaka, I believe that the best part of Osaka-style takoyaki is the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the inside dough, and in that sense, this place is the best by far among the three shops. The opinions of the three of us were unanimous! Amazing! (^O^)

- Four types x four pieces for a total of 16 pieces for 1500 yen (tax included). In addition to the popular rock salt mayo, sauce, and green onion ponzu, we also ordered the dashi flavor. The energetic lady at the entrance was a bit overwhelming with her strong presence, but she was friendly and accommodating. When my friend asked for extra mayo on the rock salt mayo takoyaki, she agreed without any issues. She also efficiently provided chopsticks and plates. However, it seems that she forgot to add the ponzu sauce on the green onion ponzu takoyaki, so the ones with green onions had no flavor (lol). I personally prefer the creamy texture of Osaka-style takoyaki, so I enjoyed the dashi flavor with a hint of shrimp aroma spreading gently. It was delicious! Eating them while they're hot is the best part!

Visited in the evening on a day off. Purchased food tickets. Since there was no one inside the restaurant, I decided to dine in. Ordered the most popular "Rock Salt Mayo" with 5 pieces. The inside was very creamy! The broth was flavorful! The rock salt flavor was quite strong. I felt that 2-3 pieces were enough (・ัω・ั) It made me thirsty...
