I bought some bread and planned to eat it in the eat-in area inside the store. When I entered, I noticed that the selection was a bit limited due to the time. They used to offer free coffee here, but it seems like they stopped that service. There were paper napkins and alcohol spray for disinfection on the table, but there was no provision of chilled water or wet towels. The "Sanshin" in Utanai, where I visited recently, offered free tea, but... reluctantly, I bought a "Milk Tea @130" from the vending machine. I wanted to reheat the bread a bit, but there was no oven available. Is it because of COVID-19? I'm sorry for constantly comparing, but "Sanshin" had one. It feels a bit lonely here. Anyway, I decided to eat as it is. The "Bacon France" had a nice balance of saltiness from the bacon and a slightly firm texture in the dough, which was good. It would be even better if it was a bit larger in size. The cost performance is not that great though. If I could reheat it until the crust becomes crispy, it would be delicious. That's something I can try at home later. The "Aged Wiener Roll" had a nice crispy texture in the sausage, but I didn't like the dough that was a bit mushy and chewy. Why did they use this type of dough? It's a shame. I haven't been to all Royce stores, but I wonder if the "Takasago Store" also stopped serving coffee. Today was also the day for my dog's visit to the vet. We traveled to the border between Atsubetsu Ward and Ebetsu City. The appointment ended just before 12 o'clock, so I decided to head to a nearby curry shop. I quickly found the shop, but unfortunately, there was a sign saying "Preparing". According to the information on Tabelog, the shop should have been open at that time, but oh well... There was a large parking lot right next to the shop, so I parked my car without checking further and entered the shop. It turned out to be Lloyd's. With such a big shop, I thought they might have some bread, and indeed they did. They individually wrapped each piece of bread, so there were no tongs. I chose about 6 different kinds of bread and made my purchase. When I got home, I tried them out. The most popular bread, which I forgot the name of, had a rich chocolate filling and was the best. The melon bread was surprisingly ordinary. The curry bread had a nice spiciness to it. The egg tart might have been the most delicious out of all the ones I tried today. The bread with jam and cream in the middle reminded me of something you can find at 7-Eleven. Thinking about it, the quality of 7-Eleven's bread is actually quite good. I forgot the names of the bread because I left the receipt behind, but overall, I was satisfied with the bread. Thank you for the meal.

After having lunch at Curry Furano-ya, I stopped by the neighboring Royce's to check out their bread. I got the top 5 bestsellers, and the second most popular chocolate donut was delicious. The fourth most popular salt bread was hot and tasty when toasted. I had high hopes for the chocolate corn pistachio, but it lacked pistachio flavor, which was disappointing. The yakisoba bread, which I was looking forward to as a side dish, had a fried egg inside, which was nice. The bread dough was a bit hard, which was a shame, but the chocolate was delicious. I'll come back next time to try their soft serve ice cream.

I wonder what kind of popular souvenirs people from outside the Sapporo area would enjoy. Starting tomorrow on a tour of northern Hokkaido, I picked out some Royce chocolates with a Christmas theme. When I visited the Royce store in Atsubetsu Nishi, they had some nice Christmas limited edition packaging. I treated myself to a double pack of Potato Chip Chocolate. I also got a 20th anniversary food clip for Potato Chip Chocolate.

This was my first time trying Royce in Hokkaido. I have had their chocolate as souvenirs before, but this was my first time visiting one of their stores. They have several locations in Hokkaido, including at the airport, as well as in Tokyo and Nagoya. The store I visited was a large one along the bypass, and I was surprised to see that they also have a bakery section. I'm not sure if this is a store-specific feature. I purchased the seasonal limited edition packaged "Nama Chocolate" for home consumption, priced at 778 yen, as well as the "Crispy Curry Bread" from the bakery for 195 yen. The Nama Chocolate was delicious and brought back nostalgic memories. It had a slightly buttery taste, and even though there are now many brands selling similar products, Royce's version still holds its original charm. The bakery items were nothing special.

I overate on the weekend, so I skipped breakfast and refused to eat lunchbox. I had three meals properly the day before, but it's tough mentally to skip breakfast and lunch the next day. It's best if I'm too busy to think about it, but today is not that kind of day... When I returned to the office, there was Royce. The reasonable price is annoying, the large jagged edges of the bag are tempting. I told myself not to hold it, but I'm holding it. I told myself not to open it, but I opened it. I told myself not to put it in my mouth, but I'm putting it in. The chocolate dough has a fine texture, and it's not an exaggeration to say it has a "unique texture". The sweetness is moderate and delicious, as expected from Royce.

I received this chocolate as a gift. It is a famous chocolate from Hokkaido. This is the first time I have seen this particular one. It's called Chokotto Gift Royce R Chocolate (Strawberry), and it comes in a pack of 5 individually wrapped pieces. Each piece is shaped like the letter "R" in Roman alphabet. Inside is a combination of milk chocolate and strawberry chocolate. They go really well together. This is delicious.

For White Day, I decided to get a chocolate assortment from Royce for my wife♪♪♪ When I entered the store, it really felt like White Day! I couldn't resist getting the must-have Potato Chip Chocolate! I also chose the limited edition Italian fair items, including the Amore Polenta cornmeal butter cake. When I tried it at home, the cake had a slightly sweet corn and buttery texture⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎ I also picked the Italian fair Lemon Peel Chocolate and the trendy Pistachio Chocolat. The store was full of chocolates, so I ended up buying too much, but my wife was thrilled (lol)

Sometimes even in winter, I feel like having soft serve ice cream. However, there are fewer shops that offer it during the winter season. So this time, I visited a shop that serves it all year round. I arrived at the shop, parked my car in the spacious parking lot in front of the store, and entered. I went to the register, checked the menu, and since I had tried the "chocolate soft serve" before, this time I ordered the "milk soft serve" as it was winter. I paid and waited for my order. It took about 7-8 minutes for it to arrive due to a machine issue, but when it did, it was huge, about 50% larger than usual. I took the customary photo, then went back to my car to enjoy the soft serve. It had a strong milk flavor and was not too sweet, so I finished it quickly. Since I can't visit Okinawa at the moment, I at least want to feel like I'm in Ishigaki, so I want to buy products from "Royce Ishigaki Island".

I wanted to eat Loyz's canelé, so I visited the shop! Even though there is no state of emergency declared now, the eat-in area is still closed. It's sad that they may never open again with this number of cases. I bought the canelé, chestnut maritozzo, curry bread, and premium salt bread for tomorrow's breakfast. I also purchased the chocoman and carma chocolate that I wanted to try as they were sold in small portions. I'm really happy that they sell them individually. The canelé has a crispy outer layer and a moist rare-like inside, very delicious! The price is also reasonable, so I think it's a great deal! It weighed 57g. The size seems to be standard. The maritozzo has chestnut paste inside, giving it an autumn vibe, and it was also good. The cream is light and easy to eat!

I remember that the Royce soft serve I had before was overly sweet, but I wonder if they have renewed it. It is definitely an improvement and leaves a good impression.

On White Day, I visited Royce's street store for the first time. The interior of the store was surprisingly spacious! It was quite busy, probably because of White Day. Among the wide range of Royce products, I was drawn to the Part Chocolat, so I bought it. I tried it by generously spreading it on toast, and it was extremely delicious! It had been a while since I had chocolate soft serve ice cream, and this one was quite easy to enjoy with a moderate level of sweetness and a strong chocolate flavor typical of a chocolate maker's soft serve. Since it seems unlikely that I will be able to visit Ishigaki Island in Okinawa this year, I wanted to savor the taste of Ishigaki Island through the products from "Royce Ishigaki Island."

It's a sunny day in May 2020, and I have cancelled work for the 39th day in a row! I'm starting to worry about my muscle strength due to my lazy days. I decided to go for a walk and explore some new places. I walked about 20 minutes from the big ROYCE store in Atsubetsu Nishi. The store was bright and had a sense of liberation, but the eat-in area was closed. I thought about getting soft serve ice cream, but it's hard to eat while walking. So, I opted for some sweet bread instead. Here are the two items I bought at ROYCE: Egg Tart for 140 yen - it had a strong egg flavor and a crispy tart crust. Chocolate Croissant Ole for 180 yen - it was delicious with the chocolate inside. The balance between the bread and chocolate was perfect. I also received a chocolate treat at the checkout. It was a great meal!

I used to associate Royce with chocolate because of the chocolate-filled bread I saw at Higashi-Naeho branch. However, the salt bread I had at home was delicious. The firm dough was crispy. It seems to use Echire butter, making it a luxurious salt bread. I received two cookies at the checkout. Thank you. I would like to try the soft serve ice cream next time.
