I had a katsudon with tonkatsu cooked at low temperature. Today's tonkatsu was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. The pork flavor was amazing, but for those who prefer a crispy coating, it might be lacking. I wished there was more egg. I also wanted more flavor from the broth and sweetness. I enjoyed it by adding salt to the katsu. Thank you for the meal! Ordered items: Katsudon set meal ¥1,320

This is a restaurant that offers tonkatsu cooked at low temperature. The meat is cooked perfectly with a slightly rare pink color. The red meat is surprisingly tender and very sweet and delicious. The coating has a gentle crispy texture which was also good. I could feel the shop's dedication to selecting and frying the pork. I would like to visit again! Ordered the Top Loin Katsu Set Meal for ¥1,650.

I ordered the top loin tonkatsu set. It was the best tonkatsu I have ever had. While low-temperature cooked tonkatsu with a light pink center is popular nowadays, I visited several places and found that this restaurant is on a different level. The breading was crispy and light, with a great texture. The loin inside was close to white-pink and very tender. And surprisingly, it was quite sweet. I never knew tonkatsu could be this delicious. It was so tasty that I only needed salt to enjoy it. The meat selection, frying technique, everything was done by professionals. If you want to eat delicious tonkatsu, I highly recommend this place. The female staff may seem unfriendly, but there was a warm message on the chopstick paper. These small gestures are also wonderful. I will definitely go back again. Thank you for the meal. Flawless tonkatsu at Tonkatsu Nishinaka.

"I had the 'Upper Fillet Cutlet Set Meal' again, and this time I focused solely on the fillet cutlet! The soy sauce and wasabi were a perfect match, making it easy and enjoyable to eat. It seemed like the oil was fresh and new, maybe because I arrived early in the evening. Next time, I think I'll try the stick fillet..."

I heard about the "Jourosu Teishoku" and "Jouhire" and decided to try it out. It was incredibly delicious and I was amazed. The fillet was so thick with a perfect crispy coating and temperature. It was so crunchy and juicy. It had been a while since I had tonkatsu and my excitement was through the roof. The temperature of the pork loin was also just right, not too hot, but maintaining the perfect level of heat and the fat was in a good state. It was irresistible. Even though there was sauce, eating it with soy sauce and wasabi was a perfect combination! And it might even be cheaper than chain tonkatsu restaurants. I was surprised in many ways. This is what tonkatsu should be. I have found a new favorite restaurant. P.S. I can't wait to go to Sekou for tonkatsu soon.

Located a little away from Hakata Station Chikushi Exit, this tonkatsu restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with about 15 seats, giving off a nostalgic old-fashioned diner vibe. The Hirekatsu Set Meal (1,650 yen) features a perfectly fried cutlet with a hint of pink color. With each bite, the tender and fluffy texture fills your mouth, accompanied by a burst of savory flavor that makes you crave for more. The handwritten messages on the disposable chopsticks add a nice touch, leaving a warm feeling. I hope this kind of restaurant continues to thrive for a long time. Everyday lunch is something that must be eaten, it is a source of energy for the afternoon. If you eat something delicious, you can keep going strong in the afternoon. Even if there is nothing to do, everyone wants to eat their favorite lunch. I am sharing the lunches I eat every day. Sometimes I crave for tonkatsu, sometimes for curry, and the perfect combination of both is katsukare. I remember there was katsukare at a tonkatsu specialty restaurant. Let's go and check it out. The place is in Hakata-ku, Hakata Station South in Fukuoka City. I visited last month and left the restaurant feeling satisfied. When I visited on a weekday right after opening, the owner's wife welcomed me with a smile. I sat at a table and ordered what I wanted to eat - katsukare for 1320 yen. I wanted to try the tender meat again like last time. Last time it was fillet meat, so I know they don't use fillet meat for katsukare. The curry was ready in about 10 minutes. The rice on the plate was about 180g, a bit less. The six thick slices of pork loin were about 1cm thick. The tender meat had a good balance of lean and fatty parts. I was delighted to find a few pieces of pork meat in the curry. The spiciness of the curry was moderate, more rounded and deep than spicy. However, I felt the spiciness was not enough for me. They don't provide spiciness adjustment, so I sprinkled some spiciness powder I brought with me, and it transformed into my preferred taste. The meat this time was also amazing. The owner's wife told me it was certified pork from Yamagata Prefecture. I don't think it's Kurobuta pork, but the owner must be sourcing quality meat. The joy of eating high-quality meat was truly satisfying. The only side dish was cucumber pickles, and the salad on a separate plate was just cabbage, no lemon this time. There was no soup, but cold water was enough. 15 minutes after opening, the restaurant was full, with 4 people waiting outside. It's clear that a popular restaurant is delicious. I will definitely visit again. Next time, I will go for the pork loin set meal.

I changed the miso soup that came with my lunch order of sauce katsudon to tonjiru, and it was exceptionally delicious. It had a simple and hearty flavor with plenty of ingredients. With just white rice, it makes a complete lunch menu. Next time, I will try the tonjiru set meal. By the way, the tonkatsu is also delicious.

15 minutes walk from Hakata Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, about 5 minutes by car from Chikushi Exit. 15 minutes walk from Higashi-Hie Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, about 5 minutes by car. 5 minutes walk from Nishijin Bus Ekiminami 3-chome bus stop (routes 66, 64, 67, 69-1, 69, 48-2). 5 minutes walk from Nishijin Bus Sanno Koenmae bus stop. 1,068m from Higashi-Hie Station. I was curious about this tonkatsu specialty restaurant. I ordered the Hire Katsu set meal and a side of fried oysters. With only two staff members, it took quite a while from ordering to the food being served. The tonkatsu was made with pork loin, which had little fat and left me wanting more. However, the meat was tender and delicious. The fried oysters were also delicious with a firm texture inside.

Recently, there has been a boom in tonkatsu (pork cutlet), including katsu curry, with an increase in specialty shops using branded pork, resulting in slightly higher prices. I want to try a tonkatsu place I learned about on social media located in Hakata Station South in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. The restaurant used to be a soba shop run by an elderly couple, but closed due to lack of successors. It reopened last April with a young couple as the new owners. I ordered the Hire Katsu set meal (150g) for 1650 yen. The tonkatsu took some time to fry as it seemed to be cooked at a low temperature. When it arrived, the four pieces of Hire Katsu were lightly breaded and fried, resulting in a soft and fluffy texture. The meat was tender and easily chewable, without the typical pork smell, with a fruity tonkatsu sauce that enhanced the natural sweetness of the meat. The miso soup with tofu, onions, and carrots was ordinary, and the side dishes of cucumber and eggplant pickles and Nara pickles complemented the meal. The freshly cooked rice was also of good quality. It felt like a slightly luxurious lunch, and I realized that good food requires spending money. I am now curious about trying the katsu curry and will save up to visit the restaurant again. The place was becoming popular, especially during lunchtime.

It's been a while. I wanted to eat delicious tonkatsu, so I chose the winter menu which had oysters. With the cherry blossoms blooming, it feels like the end of the season, so I went for the set with oysters. I was surprised by how beautiful the tonkatsu looked here. The two on the left are oyster fry. They are large and plump. It's rare to see oysters this big. The pork cutlet is slightly pink inside. I'm happy that they fry it so carefully. This time, I upgraded to a small portion of miso soup. The miso soup here is full of ingredients and never gets boring. Each item here is luxurious in its own way.

Fukuoka City, Hakata Ward, Hakataekiminami 4-11-28 Area - About a 20-minute walk from JR "Hakata Station"! It is located about a 7-minute walk from the Nishitetsu Bus "San'ou Koen-mae" bus stop. Is Fukuoka experiencing a "tonkatsu boom"?! Lately, there has been a rush of tonkatsu restaurants opening and long lines forming! What is this "deep-fried food" boom all about, huh? Even fried fish is popular! All-you-can-eat options featuring hearty meat dishes like hamburg steak are also gaining attention! This place opened in April 2022! Will they be able to ride the wave of the "tonkatsu" deep-fried food boom? It's something to look forward to. The exterior is in a residential building on the first floor! The interior has a pure Japanese-style, Showa-era dining hall atmosphere with table seating. The menu includes deep-fried items like "tonkatsu," "chicken katsu," "oyster fry," "fried horse mackerel," "pork cutlet curry," and more... I wanted to try the "stick pork cutlet" displayed on the wall, but it seemed like it would take a while, so I opted for the "upper sirloin cutlet set." First, I tried the brand pork "Mont Verr Pork" seasoned with salt! The meat is light with little fat and a fine muscle texture, surprisingly high in protein! It is fried to be tender, so the center is slightly pink, but the meat may not suit everyone's taste if it tends to be dry. You can order additional items individually, so next time, I might go for the "upper loin cutlet set" and add "sirloin meat" and "minced cutlet." The rice and miso soup are decent! Free refills until you're full! Expect a wait of 10 to 30 minutes during lunchtime! Thank you for the meal. Enjoy Gourmet Life☆

I visited on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 20 minutes because it was crowded. I ordered the top loin grated set meal. It was a bit expensive at 1600 yen, but it was worth it! It was a bit rare, but you could really taste the freshness of the good pork! I used to think all tonkatsu tasted the same, but this was completely different! The salt was absolutely delicious. The sauce would be a waste of the meat.

I had lunch near Ohori Park in Hakata at a discreet restaurant that caught my eye. I ordered the daily special chicken cutlet set for 800 yen. It was just before 1 pm on a weekday, and there were a few customers finishing their meals and relaxing when I entered. I noticed a sign advertising a "Choi-nomi" set for 1,100 yen, which also piqued my interest. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. I was pleased to see a generous portion of cabbage. The cutlet had a light and crispy coating, showing attention to detail. The handwritten message on the chopstick wrapper conveyed the warmth of the owner. I look forward to enjoying the "Choi-nomi" set in the evening.

A katsu restaurant where you can have a casual drink! "Tonkatsu Nishinaka" near Hakata Station South. Located on Yayoi Street near Hakata Station South, "Tonkatsu Nishinaka" is a recent addition. Wasn't this place a soba restaurant before? They offer set meals as well as a casual drinking set for 1000 yen, making it perfect for daytime drinking. I ordered a bottled beer with it. They also serve boiled green peas and motsu (offal) stew with a deliciously chunky minced cutlet. The cost performance is amazing. My partner had the katsudon set meal (1320 yen) with a large cutlet that stands out, and the egg is served separately. The pork is really tasty with a good amount of fat. Although the location is a bit inconvenient, it's worth making the trip to this place. Tonkatsu Nishinaka, 092-432-1651, 4-11-28 Hakata Station South, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City.

The tonkatsu set meal costs 1320 yen and is available only on weekdays. There is no parking lot, so I parked in the parking lot of the nearby apartment building. The miso soup was made with red miso and had tofu and seaweed as ingredients. You can get a free refill of rice up to one bowl. The cabbage dressing had a citrus flavor and was delicious. The tonkatsu had a crispy and flavorful coating. It was served with salt and sauce for dipping, along with pickles. They also accept PayPay as payment.

I visited this restaurant for the first time for Sunday lunch. I saw it on Instagram and thought it looked delicious. It was past 1 pm, so I wanted to order the tenderloin, but they were sold out. I ended up getting the loin with grated radish to keep it light. But, I also added the fried horse mackerel. I'm totally fine with fried food, but I usually prefer the tenderloin because I think it allows you to taste the meat flavor better and it's delicious. [What I ordered] - Loin with grated radish cutlet set ¥1650 - Fried horse mackerel a la carte ¥400 - Changed to miso soup for an additional ¥200 The loin looks slightly pink and a bit rare, but it's tender and tasty. The breading is thin and crumbly. The fried horse mackerel is the same, with a thin and crumbly breading. Even though it's a tonkatsu restaurant, the fried horse mackerel tasted better than the average frozen ones, with a good quality and flavor of the horse mackerel. The most surprising thing was the memorable pork soup. In Kyushu, they call it "buta-jiru" instead of "tonjiru". It had plenty of pork pieces (maybe they use trimmings or scraps?) and lots of ingredients, making it a substantial side dish. The miso was a bit on the strong side. It was delicious, and I'm grateful that they are open for lunch on Sundays. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat tonkatsu with pork miso soup. I used to order loin cutlet, but this time I tried fillet. I was wondering what kind of thick cutlet would come out, and it turned out to be quite thick, with the inside still a bit pink. It was amazing, almost like a steak. The breading was not too oily, making it very easy to eat! The meat melted in my mouth, it was so tender. The miso soup that came with it was full of ingredients and nutrients, which made me happy. It's not often you get to eat miso soup with such good flavor. I also appreciate that the origin of the meat is listed on the menu, so you can eat it with peace of mind.

From Baika Bridge Street, head towards "Eki Minami Yayoi Street" and pass by Sunny to get there. You can also get takeout. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious. By noon, it's almost always full. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal with miso soup. There is an additional charge for the miso soup. By the time I placed my order a little past noon, they had already sold out of miso soup. The pork cutlet is served with a special sauce or salt. The slightly pink meat looks delicious, and it's thick with a light coating. Oh, and the way the cutlet is flipped over like this is not my doing, it's how it's presented. The pork is tender and juicy. When you add salt, it becomes refreshing with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. It's easy to see why the miso soup is popular. It's packed with ingredients, making you feel full. The menu includes not only pork cutlet set meals, but also affordable options like minced cutlet, fried horse mackerel, and pork cutlet curry. There are also limited quantity items on the menu, so I'd like to challenge myself to try them someday.

This is a tonkatsu restaurant located along Yayoi Street in the south of Hakata Station. I visited this place near San'ō Park for lunch on this day. The restaurant mainly has table seating. I ordered the Hire Katsu set from the lunch menu. After a short wait, the Hire Katsu set for 1,320 yen was ready. The set included red miso soup and rice, which was refillable. The katsu was made with 130g of Tonkatsu from Mont Veal Pork in Minamata, Kumamoto. There were various condiments on the table, so I first tried it with salt and lemon, and then enjoyed changing the taste with the special sauce and wasabi soy sauce.
