On a certain evening, as the second stop of the night, two of us visited this restaurant for the first time. Located a little north of Miyakojima Fire Station, it opened in the same spot where Momotaro used to be, and just before that, there was a seafood izakaya called Uppan. It is a restaurant specializing in Neapolitan pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven and Italian cuisine. Unrelated, but I was curious about the two previous restaurants that were there before, but unfortunately, I never got to visit them.
We sat at a table and ordered the following dishes: Saury and potato terrine for 550 yen, fresh fish carpaccio for 750 yen, one Neapolitan pizza from the wood-fired oven, and Hokkaido whitefish Anjouretti-style for 900 yen. The saury and potato terrine was a first for me, and it was delicious with a nice fragrance and a refreshing taste from the balsamic vinegar. The carpaccio was made with fresh fish, maybe it was called Isaki? Anyway, it was fresh and tasty.
The pizza we ordered was probably the Gorgonzola, prosciutto cotto, mozzarella, and basil pizza for 1590 yen. It was very moist and tender, with a generous amount of cheese but not heavy, just delicious. We ate it with our hands this time, but I heard it's also good to roll it up and eat it with a knife and fork because of its soft texture. I'll try that next time.
Although we couldn't see the tile-covered wood-fired oven from our table, we had a little time and energy left, so we also tried the Hokkaido whitefish Anjouretti-style. Instead of fried pizza dough, it used fried whitefish milt. The seasonal cod milt was creamy and delicious!
For drinks, we each had two glasses of Heineken draft beer for 550 yen each, and a bottle of apple wine hard cider for 550 yen. There is another restaurant nearby that specializes in fried pizza, but the atmosphere and the pizza here were different and enjoyable.
