On this day, I had a dinner with an old friend. We decided to treat ourselves to something nice, so we headed to "Sushi Suiuo" for our meal. Located in Haruyoshi 3-chome, a little off the main street, this restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere. We ordered the Hanashoubu course with all-you-can-drink option, which costs ¥10,000. With tax included, it came to ¥10,800. Let's start with a highball. We began with some appetizers before moving on to sushi. The first dish was sesame tofu topped with sea urchin, which was delicious. Then we had a healthy assortment of small dishes including wasabi flowers, shallot mayonnaise, asparagus with sesame mayo, caprese salad, and brown mushrooms. They were all light and tasty. Next, we enjoyed a dish of swordfish with vinegar and carrots, followed by a sashimi platter with four types of fish. Each fish had its own unique flavor and was very fresh. We then had a steamed dish of foie gras chawanmushi, which was rich and flavorful. We switched to sake and tried a fruity one called Kama. It was good, but by this point, we were already feeling a bit tipsy. The hot pot dish with tilefish, carrots, and perilla was excellent, with tender fish and crunchy vegetables. Then came the sushi, which included striped jack, chicken breast, bonito, and marinated yellowtail. Each piece was delicious and well-prepared. Finally, we had medium fatty tuna, marinated horse mackerel, dessert of black tea panna cotta, and tamago (egg). Everything was excellent, especially the marinated horse mackerel, which was a unique and tasty dish. The black tea panna cotta was also delicious, with a strong tea flavor. The tamago was perfectly cooked and had a rich taste. Overall, it was a satisfying and delicious meal. Highly recommended for authentic yet affordable sushi. Total cost for dinner today: ¥10,800.
