Along National Route 210, near the Higashi Kumanoue (2) intersection, there is a shop in Ukiha Village. It is located on the same premises as the "Gopeita Udon" that was previously introduced. Although small, there is an eat-in space and they also serve alcohol. The menu mainly consists of flour-based dishes such as okonomiyaki, all of which are surprisingly low-priced. When it comes to flour-based dishes, it reminds me of Takoyaki Taro in Yoshii Town, but "Hirari" might be similar as well. I ordered the Modan-yaki (tax included 600 yen) which contains pork, squid, and soba. They start cooking it after you place your order. While waiting, a small dish of cold tofu appeared. Of course, this is a complimentary service. The good aroma of the sauce started to drift. The Modan-yaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, cooked to perfection. On top of the sauce, there was a generous amount of mayo, along with green seaweed and bonito flakes. Squid and pork appeared in between. The balance between the rich sauce and the dough was excellent, and I finished it in no time. The female owner cooked it carefully and it was very delicious. I would like to try other items on the menu as well. Thank you for the meal!

Auntie runs this Kansai-style restaurant with a lot of warmth. The food is delicious and the cost performance is great! I want to visit this restaurant again!

I came to Ukiha-machi Higashikumaue in Ukiha City, Fukuoka Prefecture, along Route 210, where I saw a sign for okonomiyaki and decided to stop by. I visited at noon on a weekday and there were no other customers. The owner, a woman in her 50s, took my order for yakisoba priced at 450 yen. While waiting, she served complimentary chilled tofu and shredded cabbage salad. The yakisoba was served in a generous portion with thick slices of pork, two pieces of squid, cabbage, and thick bean sprouts. It was topped with mayonnaise, red pickled ginger, and bonito flakes. The noodles were chewy and the sauce had a slightly spicy kick. Surprisingly, it also had tempura crumbs, reminiscent of Kansai-style yakisoba. The texture of the thick bean sprouts was enjoyable. For 450 yen, it was a fantastic deal with the added bonus of complimentary service. The owner, originally from Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, had married into the area. If you happen to pass through this area, I recommend stopping by for a taste of Kansai-style yakisoba or okonomiyaki. The table next to mine seemed to have made a reservation, indicating the popularity of the place.
