The deliciousness here is just as good as always! Both the soft serve and baked goods are tasty, but I prefer the soft serve. In the end, I always end up eating two servings for a total of four servings and leave feeling full. It's a convenient location from my house, so I will definitely visit again!

On Sunday at 7:30 PM, I went to "Gyoza Specialty Store Champion" in Miyakojima. I ordered "Pan-fried Gyoza" and "Soft Gyoza" with a side of "Kimchi (small)". Both gyoza come in a serving of 7 pieces each. I took a bite of the "Soft Gyoza" and it was delicious. It is recommended to eat it as it is because the saltiness is just right. The filling is full of meat and juicy. The thin skin is moist. I then tried the "Pan-fried Gyoza" and it was also delicious. The perfect amount of sear on the outside. They are small but packed with filling, and the skin is not too thick or too thin. I could eat many of these. The fact that they serve "Soft Gyoza" instead of boiled gyoza is great. It makes sense that this place is loved in the old town, with its delicious flavors. Thank you for the meal.

I had some time for lunch in Miyakojima, so I tried the gyoza specialty restaurant Champion that I had been curious about. It takes 15 minutes to cook the pan-fried gyoza, which is a bit long, but it is delicious. They also have cheap beer for lunch, so I recommend it. One evening, two people visited a second bar for the first time. They decided to visit another place after that and ended up being drawn in by the flashy exterior of a restaurant they found while walking north from Miyakojima Station. Despite opening three years ago, the staff did not recognize either of them, making it a mysterious place. Upon entering, they were greeted by a waitress who was concerned that the belongings of the previous customer might obstruct their path as they moved further inside. They reassured her that they could pass through without any issues and proceeded to take a seat at the counter. They ordered drinks and some gyoza, with the initial order requiring a minimum of four servings of either pan-fried or soft gyoza for two people. After that, they were able to order just one serving per person. Overall, they ended up ordering two servings of pan-fried gyoza for 700 yen each, two servings of soft gyoza for 700 yen each, and an additional serving of soft gyoza for 350 yen. They also ordered pickles for 350 yen. For drinks, they each had two glasses of Super Dry draft beer for 450 yen each. The pan-fried gyoza had a crispy and light texture, while the soft gyoza had a tender skin and rich flavor. The restaurant provided two condiments, soy sauce and MSG, along with the pickles. It had been 30 years since they last encountered a restaurant that openly offered MSG like this. It is unclear if the customers used the MSG on the gyoza or other dishes.

I was curious about a gyoza specialty store with crispy grill marks, so I wanted to try their gyoza. The menu showed that they only offer two types of gyoza: grilled gyoza and soft gyoza (boiled). It takes 15 minutes to grill them, and they are small in size. I hesitated between ordering 4 or 6 servings, but since it was my first time, I ordered 4 servings. The grilled gyoza were small and easy to eat, almost like a snack. The crispy texture was addictive, and the garlic in the filling was strong and flavorful. The gyoza had a good balance of pork and vegetable filling, with a hint of sesame oil towards the end. The taste was mild and not overwhelming. Overall, the gyoza were unique and delicious, and I would definitely want to eat them again.

Week 4 of July 2021, evening. This day was a Sunday, and after work, I stopped by on my way home via the subway from the Osaka Monorail line. I have visited this place many times since it first opened. Gyoza Champion! The main shop is located in Imazato, and I have always loved the gyoza here and visited often! As the name suggests, this is a simple gyoza specialty shop! The owners, a former salaryman husband and wife, loved the gyoza at the Imazato main shop so much that they quit their jobs, trained as part-time workers, and opened their own shop. The roles are divided, with the wife in charge of wrapping and the husband in charge of grilling. I was craving gyoza even before my visit, so I decided to focus solely on gyoza and ordered 3 servings of pan-fried gyoza and a large bottle of Sapporo Lager. The gyoza here are small but have a crispy and fragrant sear on the outside, while the filling is visible through the thin skin and chewy. After a perfect grilling, they were absolutely delicious! I enjoyed them with Sapporo Lager and later switched to Black Nikka Highball. The gyoza are so good that many fans, including my boss, recommend ordering them grilled for takeout. Reheating them in a pan or toaster at home is advised, as it may be difficult to recreate the perfect texture when grilling at home. While nothing beats enjoying them fresh in the restaurant, the satisfaction is unmatched. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Grilled dumplings: 7 pieces for 300 yen (excluding tax)
Soft dumplings: 7 pieces for 300 yen (excluding tax)
The menu stated that dumplings must be ordered for at least 2 people. This seems to be the case at other stores as well. It was not a problem for me to order 2 servings. It was mentioned that grilled dumplings would take 15 minutes, but the soft dumplings arrived just slightly earlier, so the wait time was about the same for both. I did not actually time it, so I am not sure if it was exactly 15 minutes. When I peeked into the store earlier, there were 3 groups of customers, and I was unsure if social distancing could be maintained, so I decided not to enter. The interior of the store only has counter seats, but it is spacious, bright, and cool. I confirmed that it was not crowded this time, so I entered and had a comfortable experience. The soft dumplings had a soft skin and a nice filling. They were seasoned with salt and tasted delicious. The grilled dumplings, on the other hand, were completely different. The crispy texture was excellent, and the sound when biting into the skin almost made me think they were delicious. The chili oil provided was spicy, so use it according to your preference. They were tasty even without any condiments. I would like to try the grilled dumplings with just salt next time. The grilled dumplings for takeout cost 330 yen, which I initially thought was expensive, but then I realized that it was tax-inclusive.

The crispy-skinned, vegetable-filled dumplings are so delicious that you can eat as many as you want! They recently started serving lunch too, and the dumplings go perfectly with rice. Of course, they also go well with beer!

A restaurant to visit when you have extra time. Delicious grilled dumplings take a long time to cook, so if you drop by casually, you'll end up waiting for a long time. Make sure to have some patience when visiting this place.
