After leaving Ramen Ryunoie, I had some more time so I decided to visit the nearby Hoshino Coffee Fukuoka Kasuga branch, which I hadn't been to in a while. The coffee shop shares a parking lot with Yo! Menya Goemon, and although the parking lot was almost full, I was lucky to find a spot and entered the shop. The restaurant was about one-third full, and the atmosphere was somewhat relaxed. I sat at a table and ordered a cake set with a hot Hoshino Blend Coffee and an Opera cake. Just like Komeda Coffee, I appreciate when they provide a hot towel, especially for an old man like me. Soon, the coffee and Opera cake arrived! The hand-drip coffee was different from espresso-based coffee but still delicious. The Opera cake, with layers soaked in coffee syrup, coffee-flavored buttercream, and a ganache topping, had a harmonious blend of flavors that I enjoy. Visited Hoshino Coffee with my dog. Couldn't enter from the front, so had to go around to the back, which was quite hard to find. Needed the staff to guide me. Ended up in the smoking and dog corner. There was a quiet dog there, but it left soon after. kzr seemed interested in the dog and kept making noise like "I didn't say hi!" Thankfully, it left eventually.

I was drawn to the outdoor sign of the Kiln-baked Souffle Doria restaurant. They offer a selection of coffee blends like Hoshino, Hikoboshi, and Orihime, making it easy to choose based on your preference. The Hikoboshi blend, known for its strong bitterness, was quite delicious. However, the iced coffee had too much ice which was a bit disappointing. I couldn't resist trying the limited edition Kiln-baked Souffle Doria, but when I touched the handle of the dish, it felt too hot to handle. There was no word of warning from the unfriendly staff. The dish looked great for Instagram but unfortunately, the taste was bland, like watery omurice, which didn't suit my taste. I should have just ordered a regular omurice. The pancakes and chocolate cake were delicious though.

Recently, I saw a review by a fellow reviewer and also wanted to visit Keis Denki and a miscellaneous goods store in Hoshimi Hill, so I decided to go to the Kasuga store. The parking lot was almost full, with several groups waiting. While waiting, I looked at the menu and decided to go for the seasonal souffle pancakes (Double 1,080 yen, Single 880 yen). I chose the ◎ Peach Souffle Pancake, of course, in a double portion. It takes about 20 minutes to bake. I also ordered the ◎ Hoshino Blend (420 yen, with half-price refill). My partner ordered the ◎ Kiln-baked Curry (830 yen) and the ◎ Hoshino Blend (420 yen, with half-price refill). We confirmed when to serve the coffee, and we requested it to be served at the same time as the dishes. After a while, my partner's coffee arrived first, and then mine. I thought my souffle pancake would come soon, but it took more than 5 minutes. I was worried it might get cold. When the Peach Souffle Pancake I fell in love with arrived, it looked really voluminous because the pancake was thick. It had two types of peaches soaked in syrup on top of the fluffy double pancake, with whipped cream and sweet and sour strawberry ice cream as toppings. I drizzled honey syrup over it and enjoyed it while it was hot. It was delicious. Maybe I put too much syrup on the first piece. I was a bit hungry, so I finished it quickly. I usually drink black coffee, and I might prefer this coffee over the famous one. There are other things I'm curious about, so if I have the chance to visit another store, I would like to confirm if it's the same. Thank you for the meal!

[2014.06 First Visit] This is Hoshino Coffee in Kasuga City, Fukuoka Prefecture. I had always wanted to visit Hoshino Coffee at least once. Now, there are quite a few branches in Fukuoka Prefecture, but I hadn't been able to go until now. Their souffle pancakes are famous. I really wanted to try them, but they take 20 minutes to cook. Normally, I just drink coffee at cafes and leave quickly. So, on this day, I only ordered coffee. - Iced Coffee 420 yen The coffee mug was ice-cold. This is what I call iced coffee!! It was quite hot that day, so it was much appreciated. The coffee tasted decent. They offer half-price refills for iced coffee. - Iced Soy Latte 450 yen The mug was also ice-cold. The taste was... when I took a sip, all I could taste was the fine foam of soy milk, giving it a light and airy feel. In the end, the coffee flavor was not really brought out. This choice might have been a bit of a mistake. Refills for iced soy latte are not half-price. If fast-food cafes like Starbucks, Tully's, or Doutor are for quick and easy coffee, then Hoshino Coffee is more of a leisurely cafe where time passes slowly while chatting. The fact that it takes 20 minutes to make pancakes gives off a "take your time" vibe. That's why branches with long waiting times during the day are often full. I went in the morning because they offer breakfast until 11 o'clock. I had the French morning set which included pancakes, boiled eggs, salad, and coffee for 600 yen. It was a good deal. The food was brought to me promptly and it was quite delicious. The pancakes were fluffy and thick, really tasty! The coffee was just average though. The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings. They even have private rooms which are stylish.

At the request of my wife, I visited Hoshino Coffee for the first time. I arrived during morning time and found out that the souffle is available from 11:00 am. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious and fluffy, I see why it's popular among women. It seems like I came at the right time because it was already full by 11:00. I heard from a female acquaintance that the souffle is her favorite, but personally, I preferred the French toast. It's a good deal too!

Hoshino cafe is quite popular with several locations. The ambiance feels like a cozy coffee shop with comfortable sofa seating. The souffle was light and fluffy, and disappeared quickly.

On December 31st at 11:00 AM, I went with my wife, daughter, and two grandchildren. It wasn't very crowded, but we had to write our names and wait. After 2-3 minutes, a staff member came to guide us. The restaurant was quite spacious, with private room-like areas as well as regular table seating. Even though it was a little past 11, they said it was okay to order from the breakfast menu. We ordered a Salad Morning Set for 500 yen, a French Morning Set for 600 yen, pancakes, and orange juice. They also offered complimentary toast and boiled eggs with the orange juice, so we requested that as well. The food arrived promptly and we enjoyed the French Morning Set the most. The pancakes were thick and seemed to be baked in a mold, but they were quite good. We asked for a child's chair for our young child, and they had one available, although we wish they had asked us if we needed it in the beginning.

I visited the restaurant for a slightly late lunch after 14:00. The atmosphere inside is calm compared to Starbucks or Komeda. The carefully brewed Hoshino Blend coffee, made with selected beans roasted over direct flame using their unique technique, is priced at a happy 250 yen per cup during lunchtime from 11:00 to 14:00 when ordered with a meal. Additionally, I heard that iced coffee and iced cafe latte can be enjoyed in a copper cup with high thermal conductivity, which will be perfect for the upcoming hot season! The restaurant is known for their pancakes and souffle dorayaki, but this time I ordered my favorite French toast! The coffee that arrived first had a mild bitterness and a refreshing taste. Although I didn't add any, I think it would go well with milk or sugar. Next, I tried the French toast. It was priced at 650 yen and consisted of about 6 large blocks. It was topped with whipped cream shaped like ice cream. The sweetness was moderate and had an elegant taste, but as a huge fan of sweets, I would have preferred vanilla ice cream over whipped cream. I look forward to coming back again for a leisurely coffee!

Visited with elderly women from a nursing home during the day. We had souffle. The main downside here is the time it takes. Recommended for those who want to relax. The elderly women who usually don't eat much were snacking on pancakes.

There are a few places with open terraces where pets are allowed, but it's hard to find a regular indoor cafe that allows dogs. It's not even midsummer yet, but the terrace is too hot, and my companion is a cat! That's when I found this cafe, which has a pet-friendly room with air conditioning. However, this is not a standard feature in all branches of the chain. You can't enter through the main entrance, you have to go in through the back. The path had a slightly, no, quite difficult step for the pet cart, but we managed to get in. We ordered a set with a thick pancake (mini) and gratin (or was it lasagna). Even though it was a mini size, it was quite big. There was a little bit of whipped cream for the cat. The taste was solid and it felt like a good deal. There were also metal fixtures to attach the pet's leash. However, this room also serves as a smoking area. It was smoky, which was a shame because we wanted to enjoy the delicious food. While humans might be able to tolerate it, I wonder if it's okay for a cat with their small nose and lungs. It's a convenient location for visiting the home center across the street (which also allows pets).

The hamburger plate was delicious. You can choose between rice or toast, and I chose rice. Starno Coffee Shop has established itself as a brand cafe, but what's great is that they don't skimp on the food. The coffee is delicious, but the best thing about this place is that it can be used in various ways. Whether you want a hearty meal, something sweet, a coffee break, or a light snack with a book in hand... it's all good! The only thing missing is Wi-Fi.

It took some time for the food to arrive, with a warning that it might be delayed. When the steaming hot pancakes finally arrived, they were delicious with the choice of honey or maple syrup. However, the second pancake was lacking in butter and syrup, which was a bit disappointing. The taste overall was decent, falling within the range of being just okay. The sandwich, on the other hand, was quite tasty. We asked for a plate to share, but it was a bit problematic. Despite pointing it out to the staff, we left feeling that we probably wouldn't come back. It could be due to the fact that they had just opened and were still figuring things out.
