A new dessert shop with a clever name opened in Shinjuku. It is a famous confectionery from Nasu Kogen, and it seems like this location and the airport are the only places in Tokyo where you can find it. The shop is located on the basement floor of Lumine Est, a bit hidden from the station entrance, but still attracting a constant flow of customers. The shop is small, but popular, especially among male customers due to the seasonal offerings. While Lumine Est already has Press Butter Sand, having more butter sweets options is a delight for butter lovers. The staff will explain the different products to you, with the standard 3-piece set including milk, chocolate, white chocolate, and red bean butter flavors. The most popular flavor is red bean butter, and the white chocolate flavor is limited to sale until White Day. I was torn between trying the milk flavor first, but the allure of a limited edition product won me over, so I chose the white chocolate. The payment process was smooth, and I used Rakuten Pay. The cute paper bag they put the pastries in made me happy as I left the shop. At home, I opened the package to find adorable butter-shaped boxes, with each piece wrapped in butter-like silver paper. The shelf life is not as long as fresh pastries, but still reasonable. The thin and soft waffle dough had a crispy texture, with a butter cream filling that had a sugary texture that was addictive. The milk jam in the middle tasted like white chocolate (I only bought this flavor, so I'm guessing based on the color, but looking at photos of other flavors, it seems likely). It was sweet, but with a smooth texture that was comforting. The pastries were gone in no time, and I felt like I needed more than just three pieces. While they sell individual pieces in the local area, Lumine Est only sells them in boxes, which may feel a bit pricey. The assortment options are also quite expensive, but there are unique flavors in those assortments that caught my interest. I would like to try other flavors as well, but it can be a bit of a dilemma due to the prices. Overall, it's a delicious experience, and I don't think anyone would regret trying it out. Getting these as a gift would be a delightful surprise, especially for White Day recipients!
