After coming out of the hot spring, I felt hot so I bought shaved ice. There were two flavors available, strawberry milk and black sugar, and I chose black sugar. I relaxed on the second floor while enjoying the shaved ice, which helped cool down my body. It came with black sugar syrup, condensed milk, and red beans, all for only 350 yen. The hot spring admission fee was also 350 yen, making it a great deal!

On December 3, 2020 at 5:15 PM, I had hot spring steamed eggs for ¥100, a beer for ¥320, and ice-cold hot spring coffee for ¥120. In "Onsen Professor's Hot Spring Seminar" by Tadanori Matsuda (Location No.1460), it was mentioned that there are two communal baths called "Gozen-yu" and "Hakata-yu". Hakata-yu is privately owned and has a small but very high-quality bath where you can also drink the spring water. A taxi driver mentioned that Gozen-yu is a public bath while Hakata-yu is a hot spring. He recommended enjoying the hot spring at the inn rather than going out. Unfortunately, drinking the spring water is prohibited due to health regulations, but I enjoyed an ice-cold hot spring coffee instead. The beer I had was a 350ml can of Asahi Super Dry. The hot spring water had a mild temperature, a strong sulfur smell, and was very enjoyable.

After getting out of the bath, I had the shaved ice that I had been curious about. Normally, it costs 300 yen and comes with strawberries, special syrup, and condensed milk. I asked for it without condensed milk because I don't like it. While relaxing in the second-floor resting room, they brought it to me. The syrup is sweet with a slight acidity from the special syrup. The ice is fluffy. The strawberries that come with it are slightly frozen but easy to eat as they are starting to melt. The slight crunchiness is nice. I wonder if they intentionally used strawberries with a strong acidity to match the syrup. Delicious shaved ice after a bath. Relaxing on the tatami mat. A wonderful and happy moment, typical of Japan.

Visited in the morning on a regular day. The Foodlog rating at the time of the visit was 3.02. On this day, I ran about 10 kilometers from Motoyama to Futagai and arrived at the hot spring. The bathing fee was cheap at 300 yen, and they provided shampoo and body soap. The hot spring is a rare high-temperature spring with a strong sulfur smell and a high radon content. At the hot spring, the second floor is a resting space, where I enjoyed a source coffee ice cream for 100 yen. The dry breeze on the second floor made it the perfect place to enjoy coffee after bathing. That's all for Osomatsu!

After soaking in the hot spring, I usually drink iced coffee because I get thirsty. This time, I had hot coffee instead. It's called "Genyu Hot Coffee" and it costs 100 yen. They give you a cup and you pour the coffee yourself. There's also a lid, but I took it off for the photo. The coffee is refreshing compared to the iced version. It feels smooth because they dissolve it in the hot spring water. I enjoy drinking the coffee while relaxing in the tatami room on the second floor. It's nice to just lounge around and sip on coffee sometimes.

Located near the center of Hakata, the historic Futarayama Onsen is a hot spring that is close to the city. Across the street is Hakata-yu, a bathhouse established in 1860 (Man'en 1), where I enjoyed a relaxing soak in the slightly sulfur-scented hot spring water. Afterward, I spent some time relaxing in the second-floor resting area. The system of purchasing tickets from a vending machine for "Gensen Coffee" is quite affordable at 100 yen. You can pour yourself a cup of coffee from the coffee pot. Given the name "Gensen Coffee," I wonder if it is made with spring water? Since this hot spring allows for drinking, it is likely that they use spring water to make the coffee. The coffee is delicious and doesn't have any particular strong taste. I also bought a steamed egg for 100 yen, which was also tasty. I wanted to try the Ume-gaeshi Mochi as well, but after consulting with my stomach, I decided to pass this time. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

After soaking in the hot spring, having a bottle of Eiri Milk with ice coffee is the best! Relaxing on the second floor rest area is the best! The temperature of the hot spring, the quality of the spring water, and the atmosphere are the best!

The lingering summer heat is harsh. They say it's a "fierce lingering summer". But I'm going to a hot spring. Surprisingly, improving blood circulation in a hot spring is good for your health. Better than a cold pool. After soaking, I enjoy an iced coffee. As I mentioned before, the ice is made from hot spring water. I also brew the coffee with hot spring water. It's a refreshing, slightly less bitter type of coffee that goes down smoothly. I relax in a Japanese-style room on the second floor. The air conditioning is a bit weak, but as long as I have my iced coffee, I'm fine. Some locals come just to enjoy the delicious iced coffee or coffee jelly without taking a bath.

I was intrigued by the 100 yen coffee jelly, so I had it after soaking in the hot spring. It is made with coffee using the hot spring water from Niigata Onsen, and is quite firm. I didn't use any coffee creamer, and while it's not too sweet, there might be a bit of sugar in it. However, it doesn't have a strong bitterness as it uses the same coffee as the hot spring. Even if you don't like sweet things, you might still enjoy this coffee jelly. After eating, you can relax in the tatami room. You can also take it to go as a souvenir. It's perfect for a souvenir!

After soaking in the hot spring, you may crave something cold. That's when you should try the "Spring Coffee" sold at Hakata Yunai. They offer both hot and iced versions, and I chose the iced one. The ice they use is also made from the spring water. You can pour as much coffee as you like from the coffee server, within a set cup size. There is a relaxation room on the second floor, with a traditional Japanese tatami room where you can lie down and enjoy your drink. The coffee has a mild flavor with a soft texture and a refreshing aftertaste. They also provide Wi-Fi, so you can share your experience on Instagram if you like. Please note that there is an additional bathing fee of 300 yen for adults. They have shoe lockers and changing lockers that operate with a 100 yen coin return system, so it might be convenient to have two 100 yen coins on hand. I'm thinking of trying their coffee jelly next time!

Solo trip to Futarichi Onsen. The goal this time was twofold - to thoroughly enjoy the nightlife of Futarichi and to relax by soaking in the hot springs. The first goal was achieved, and the second goal was halfway accomplished on the first day by visiting Mizen-yu and Musashi-yu. The final stop was "Hakata-yu". This place only costs 300 yen for entry, and the second-floor resting room is free. It's a much better deal compared to Mizen-yu, which is paid. They also offer sweets and drinks.
First, I soaked in the bath from 9:30 to 10:00, and then tried the hot spring pudding from the sweets menu, which costs 150 yen. It's steamed in the hot spring, I think. I couldn't really tell the taste difference, but it was good. Then, I soaked again for about an hour from 11:00. Futarichi Onsen has a low temperature, so you can stay in the water for a long time. After the second bath, it's time for a beer! For 300 yen, it was so delicious. Drinking beer on a weekday afternoon after a bath is the best. The atmosphere at Hakata-yu is so comfortable. They have WiFi and charging stations, although I didn't use them. It's just too comfortable at Hakata-yu.

It's about a 10-minute walk from JR Futamata-Shinmachi Station, located in a residential area. The entrance fee is 350 yen on weekdays and 400 yen on weekends and holidays. There is one hot spring bath with natural spring water. Despite hearing it was hot, the temperature felt around 41 degrees Celsius. The water is colorless and transparent with a sulfur smell. It's just the right temperature and feels pleasant. The second floor serves as a rest area. I purchased a steamed egg for 100 yen, which had a deliciously firm texture.
