Family trip to Osaka♪ We decided to try either kushikatsu or okonomiyaki since we were in Osaka, and when I asked the kids which they wanted, they said "kushikatsu!" so we made a reservation and visited the restaurant. - Lunch buffet Adults (2000 yen) Elementary school students (955 yen) Infants (500 yen) *Includes drink bar The time limit was 70 minutes. The kids were already starving. They eagerly devoured yakisoba and mixed rice, which can be eaten quickly, before moving on to kushikatsu. At first, the kids struggled with getting the batter to stick, but they gradually got the hang of it and seemed to find more joy in coating the food than eating it. The adults ended up eating a lot of kushikatsu... Eating a large amount of fried food, even in small sizes, was a bit tough... The kids finished first with dessert. It was their first time making soft serve ice cream themselves, and they had fun with that too. Personally, the curry was the most delicious. It was unexpectedly spicy and more geared towards adults. The taste was nothing particularly special, and there wasn't a significant feeling of getting a great deal with the all-you-can-eat option, but we had a fun meal together, so we decided to visit the branch near our home next time.

There aren't many recommended shops in Universal City, so I tried a chain store. The store has a more stylish appearance compared to other Kushikatsu restaurants. However, the entrance door is not well adjusted, so the impression is ruined right after entering. Like in any other store, there is always one staff member who can ruin your appetite, and this store was no exception. Despite being a major chain like Fujio Food. I thought it was a pity. The Kushikatsu was average. The amount of oil in the fryer at the table seemed to be less than in other Kushikatsu restaurants. Maybe it's just my imagination?

On the third day in Osaka, for dinner, I wanted to try authentic kushikatsu, but after walking around Universal Studios all day, I didn't feel like walking anymore! So, I decided to visit a restaurant near the hotel instead. We made a reservation because there was a one-hour wait, went back to the hotel to rest for a bit, and then returned. We were called right on time. They had a variety of seafood, meat, and vegetables for kushikatsu, with several types of sauce to choose from. It was fun to fry and eat them ourselves. It was great that my middle school and high school boys could eat all they wanted. I couldn't afford to go to a high-end place, so this was perfect. There was also a strawberry fair going on, with lots of strawberry sweets available, including a strawberry chocolate fountain, which made me very happy. One thing that caught my attention was that the family at the next table was eating everything in its original fried form. I wondered if they couldn't find the breadcrumbs or if they just preferred it that way. In any case, it was a fun experience and I left satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

All-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink, family-friendly. Children will be delighted as they can cook on their own. I had 8 glasses of 500 yen highball and 1 glass of green tea highball, so I got my money's worth. The food was delicious and more than satisfying.

I fried them myself and couldn't help but eat a lot right away (be careful of burns). You can dip them twice.

My friend had never been before, so this was my second visit to the restaurant. The overall quality of the kushikatsu was as delicious as ever, but this time they had a limited-time cheese fondue on the menu, so we decided to try it. However, it was a bit salty for our taste. Maybe a touch of sweetness would have been nice? I've never had cheese fondue before, so I'm not sure what the right flavor should be (lol). For dessert, they had donuts that were so mouth-watering that I couldn't speak properly after eating them (lol). But, the melon roll cake was absolutely delicious! My friend and I even had a fun conversation about how the pattern on the cake was made. Just like last time, I was happy that there was no fishy smell in the shrimp, so I enjoyed it with salt and tempura sauce even when I got full (lol). Thank you for the meal! This time, there were plenty of shrimp, so I was very satisfied.

1.5 hours later... in front of us stood the symbol of Osaka, the "Tsutenkaku" tower. Our cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto had ended, and we were staying in Osaka for the night. Before that, I wanted to see a bit of Osaka, somewhere I had never explored before. I chose to visit the "Tsutenkaku" tower. Despite some initial confusion with the nearest station (Shin-Imamiya), we eventually made it to the tower and enjoyed the vibrant neon signs, the night view of Osaka, the Billiken statue, the Hankai tram, and the nostalgic atmosphere of the downtown shopping streets. However, due to a delay caused by stopping at a ramen shop in Kyoto, we ran out of time to try the famous kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) in the area. So, we ended up having dinner at a nearby restaurant near our accommodation. As I sat down to eat, I couldn't stop thinking about kushikatsu. So, I quickly searched on Tabelog and found a chain restaurant called "Kushiya Monogatari" near our hotel. Despite the casual and youthful atmosphere of the restaurant, we were informed of the all-you-can-eat option, and with limited time left before the last order, we decided to go for it. We started with a toast with beer and began the battle of eating as much kushikatsu as we could in the limited time we had. The table had a hot fryer in the center, and we coated our chosen skewers with flour, breadcrumbs, and various sauces before frying them ourselves. The portions were small, but the process of coating and frying the skewers added a fun and interactive element to the dining experience. As we went through multiple rounds of skewers, trying different ingredients and enjoying the process of frying them, we eventually reached a point where my friend was full and I continued to eat solo. I tried a variety of skewers, including vegetables, meats, and even cheese. We ended the meal with curry for me and soft-serve ice cream for my friend. Throughout the meal, I enjoyed several glasses of wine and highballs. It was a unique and enjoyable dining experience, even though we missed out on trying the kushikatsu in the area.

I wanted to try casual deep-fried skewers, so I came to this place in Universal City, just a short walk from Universal Studios Japan. They offer a time-limited all-you-can-eat option (drinks are extra), where you can fry your own favorite ingredients at your table. It was my first time and I was excited. They had various sauces, as well as salads, desserts, curry, and soup. It's great for families with kids as it's self-service and everyone can enjoy themselves.

I was craving for kushikatsu and luckily got the chance to go, which made me really happy. The all-you-can-eat option with shrimp was great. There were different types of sauces which made it enjoyable. I tried dipping zucchini in cheese sauce and it was surprisingly delicious. However, people who don't like the smell of cheese might not enjoy it. The desserts were tasty but there weren't many options, which left me a bit unsatisfied, but considering the price, it's understandable. The only downside was that when the shrimp ran out, it took a while for them to replenish it. Overall, it was delicious.

I went to Kushiya Monogatari after attending a private event at Universal Studios. Eating inside USJ can be expensive and very crowded, so we often use this restaurant in CityWalk on our way back or before entering the park. Kushiya Monogatari is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, with prices varying depending on the location, and slightly higher in touristy areas like USJ. Lunch prices are as follows: Adults (weekday) 90 minutes for 1,500 yen, Adults (weekends and holidays) 70 minutes for 1,600 yen, Children (elementary school and below) 830 yen, Toddlers (4 years old to under elementary school) 480 yen, Children under 3 years old are free. Dinner prices are: Adults 90 minutes for 2,500 yen, Children (elementary school and below) 1,130 yen, Toddlers 480 yen, Children under 3 years old are free. Drink all-you-can prices are: Drink bar 200 yen, Alcohol 1,000 yen, Alcohol with draft beer included 1,500 yen (all prices exclude tax). They often have special events, and this time they were having a strawberry fair. They had strawberry tower, strawberry cake, strawberry compote, and other strawberry products that are not usually available. My recommendation is the soft serve with strawberry compote topping. The soft serve is light and not too rich, so you can eat a lot of it. It's also great to put it on top of hot coffee. The private event went until 9 pm, and the restaurant's last order was at 10 pm. Some restaurants may start running out of items 30 minutes before closing, but this restaurant kept replenishing until the end, which was great. Additionally, as a member, I received a 20% discount. Lucky me! Customer service rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I stopped by after visiting USJ. Despite having eaten at THE GARDEN the day before, I didn't mind. While the touch panel reservation machine showed "6 people waiting," I took a ticket and had takoyaki at Koka-ryu Universal Citywalk Osaka store. There were about 20 types of deep-fried skewers, 7 types of sauce, and all-you-can-eat salad, fruits, sweets, and soft serve ice cream. The chicken and pork skewers were delicious.

In July 2015, a group of 7 friends visited this restaurant after having a fun day at USJ. We used the touch panel at the register to get a number tag and then waited for our turn. When we were asked if we were a group of 7 and if we were okay with sitting separately, we agreed. But as we watched other groups being seated together, we realized we should also be seated together and a friend negotiated with the staff. Eventually, we were split into groups of 4 and 3 and were seated promptly. The restaurant offered a tempura buffet for 2700 yen (tax included) with a 90-minute all-you-can-eat option. You fry the tempura yourself and there is also a salad bar, curry rice, pasta, yakisoba, ochazuke, and desserts available. We also opted for the drink buffet for 1620 yen (tax included), which allowed us to enjoy a variety of drinks. We had a great time eating and drinking together while having a blast frying tempura. The food was delicious, and despite some delays in getting our drinks, we had a fantastic time overall.

I played at USJ and had dinner at the restaurant area just outside USJ. Last time I came to USJ, I watched the parade and went to the restaurant area around 9:00 pm, but everywhere was crowded with long lines. However, this time I left by 6:30 pm and arrived early, so it was empty and we were able to get in quickly. This place is a chain restaurant that also has locations in Tokyo, so I personally didn't like it, but my child wanted to eat "kushikatsu" here, so we decided to come here. The all-you-can-eat option for adults was 2700 yen plus all-you-can-drink for 1080 yen, and for children it was 1220 yen plus a drink bar for 216 yen. There were various skewers lined up before being fried, and you could pick your favorites in a self-serve style: salmon, cheese, chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, vegetables, and even dango! The variety was abundant, and the sauces included Worcestershire, plum, cheese, ponzu, tartar sauce, and more. There was also curry, chocolate fountain, and so on... It was amazing, they had everything. At the table, there was a pot of oil for frying the skewers, so once you coat the skewer in flour and breadcrumbs, just dip it in and fry it. It was fun to fry them right away. Beer was also great with the skewers, especially the shrimp and chicken were delicious, and I really liked the mushrooms too. I had 32 skewers, and my child had 23. My child even ate curry... we were so full that our young stomachs started to hurt. It was really fun to fry the skewers ourselves.

I often use local Fukuoka shops and they are my favorites, so I visited them even when I traveled☆ However, I had only used them for lunch before, so dinner was my first time. The atmosphere, menu, service, and even the prices of the shop were quite similar to those in Fukuoka, but what I noticed was the significant difference between "lunch" and "dinner" at "Kushiya Monogatari". The lunch and dinner contents were exactly the same, with only a price increase of about 1000 yen for dinner. Hmm, this was disappointing. I wish they would add a separate menu for dinner. One thing I was dissatisfied with was only the price. (But this is probably because lunch is too cheap, so dinner feels expensive haha) They have a wide variety of skewered items. It's fun to fry them yourself. The freshly fried taste is also delicious, making it a highly recommended all-you-can-eat restaurant. They also have a wide variety of salads, fried chicken, pasta, yakisoba, curry, and other typical all-you-can-eat menu items, which is nice to have. Also, they have a variety of sauces. In addition to the ones in the photos, there are also tartar sauces, which is great♪ It's especially nice to be able to enjoy the same skewered items with different flavors! There is a drink bar available for an additional fee, but soft serve ice cream and desserts are included in the all-you-can-eat, so you can enjoy them after your meal☆ Shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, bacon, salmon, vegetables, etc. It's a restaurant where both adults and children can enjoy the true essence of all-you-can-eat☆ (※By the way, if it's lunch, it's around ☆4.0)
