I was thinking about getting a plate, but since I'm already here, I decided to line up. The portion looks pretty big in the picture, but the dishes are actually small, so it's a normal amount. The taste is like junk food seasoning, perfect for teenage boys. When I finished eating and came out, there were about 30 people waiting in line. I can't wait that long.

I started this blog on March 26, 2007, and have been updating it every day since April 19 of the following month. Today marks the 6000th consecutive day of updates, which is about 16 and a half years. In terms of food reviews, I have been posting at least one new restaurant review per day since 2013. Since October 6, 2010, I have been writing about a minimum of one new restaurant visit (the restaurant's first appearance on this blog) per day. Today's post features reviews of four new restaurants, including "Meat-kun's Borrowed Dining Room" in Temma, Osaka. I ordered the Chashu Egg Set Meal for 1000 yen, with an additional fried egg for 100 yen and extra rice for 100 yen.

The Char Siu Egg set meal with extra rice, additional fried egg, Mao Zedong spice, and garlic mayo was delicious. The Char Siu was tender and flavorful, with a crispy texture from the spice and garlic mayo adding a punch to the meal. The egg was perfectly cooked and added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I arrived at 11:12, was fifth in line, seated by 15 minutes, and served the meal by 30 minutes.

I visited this restaurant that I had checked online a while back. When I arrived at 11:05 am on a Sunday, 25 minutes before opening, there were already 8 people in line. It turned out that the opening time was actually earlier, so I might be in the 3rd or 4th round of seating. The only relief was that the line was in a shaded area, so I didn't have to be under direct sunlight. It took about 50 minutes to get inside, and by the time I entered, there were already 10 people in line behind me. The seating consisted of only 6 counter seats. I ordered the Chashu Egg set meal (with rice and soup for 1,000 yen), with extra large rice (100 yen), an additional fried egg (100 yen), and Mao Zedong spice and garlic mayo (100 yen). The food was served in about 10 minutes. The bright orange fried eggs caught my eye, and the thick slices of chashu were both crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The added Mao Zedong spice and garlic mayo complemented the dish well. The rice portion may look large in the photo, but it was actually a regular size. The soup had a strong Chinese broth flavor that was quite appetizing. The salad on the side, mixed with the chashu sauce, garlic mayo, and Mao Zedong spice, was also delicious. Overall, the food looked appealing, had a touch of junk food vibe, and tasted great. Thank you for the meal. The line had grown to 11 people by the time I left around 12:15 pm.

Located right near JR Temmangu Station. I had been curious about the chashu and egg dish ever since seeing its visuals on Instagram. It's a popular spot with lines forming 30 minutes before opening. Luckily, I was able to get in as the second person in line. For my first time trying the chashu and egg set, I opted to just add a fried egg as a topping to see how it was. The thick chashu and the fried egg looked great visually. The chashu had a nice mix of tender and meaty textures, making it enjoyable to eat. The flavor was surprisingly simple, which explains why many people opt for additional spices as toppings. Be warned, if you order extra rice, it comes piled high like something out of a manga. It's cash only for payment, so be mindful of that. Also, I made the mistake of not having smaller bills ready, so it's considerate to have some change prepared beforehand.

Visited after 12 o'clock. There are only 6 counter seats. There was a line outside, and I was the 10th person waiting. Three more people joined after me. They announced they were sold out at 12:30. I was able to enter the shop 50 minutes later. The schedule felt like that. It seems even busier on weekends. The hurdle to visit this shop is very high. The menu of the day was chicken Karaage with garlic butter mayo sauce. You can get extra rice for an additional 100 yen, and an extra piece of Karaage for an additional 100 yen, but they might not accept it later due to the remaining amount. The set comes with soup. The normal price is 1000 yen. It seems that it takes about 3 portions to cook. I waited about 20 minutes after being seated because the large Karaage takes time to cook. You get 3 large Karaage pieces with cabbage vegetables. The pickled chili peppers add a nice touch. The garlic butter mayo sauce is so delicious. The size doesn't make you feel full, it's just so tasty. The soy sauce-based soup also adds a nice flavor. Despite the huge portion, it's a dish that makes you crave more after eating it. The shop's short opening hours and the time spent waiting in line make it a challenging place to visit, but it's a restaurant that you'll want to go back to.

I don't know what time the restaurant opened, but I arrived at 11:16 on 9/12 (Tuesday) and there were 5 people waiting in line. The manager came out at 11:43 to take our order. I ordered the Garlic Tamago Chicken set meal for ¥1000 and added extra rice for ¥100 since they were out of additional fried chicken. I entered the restaurant at 11:50 and there were over 10 people waiting in line. The restaurant only has 6 counter seats and is quite small without any baskets to store belongings. The manager was handling everything alone. Soup was served at 12:01, rice at 12:03, and all items were served by 12:06. I left at 12:17. The food was delicious, but I felt slightly unsatisfied as I came with a hearty appetite. The sign said they open at 11:30, but if you want to make sure to get extra toppings, it might be better to arrive before 11. I would like to visit again to try their specialty, the "Chashu Egg." At the time of opening, there were already 10 people in line, but we were able to be seated in about an hour. The restaurant has 6 counter seats, and the menu consists of a daily special dish only. The large fried chicken goes really well with mayo butter and was delicious. I will visit again on pork day.

There were 6 people in line when we arrived at 12:30, we got our food at 12:45, and left at 12:57. When we came out, there were about 8 people waiting in line, haha. The food was so delicious that it's definitely worth waiting in line for. The Mao Zedong spice and garlic mayo are a must-try. The soup was also really tasty. Next time, I'll order with less rice. You can bring your own alcohol, so if you want to pair it with your meal, definitely bring some. They don't sell drinks there. This popular restaurant, which is already a hot topic on Instagram, is known for its sinful and indulgent dishes. The main attraction is the Char Siu Egg, which I ordered with extra rice, extra garlic mayo, and all the toppings. The Char Siu was incredibly tender and the flavor was out of this world! The generous portion of rice paired perfectly with the rich and sweet flavors of the dish. To balance out the sweetness, the savory Chinese soup added just the right amount of saltiness. The portion size was just right, not overwhelmingly large. I definitely want to come back for this indulgent meal at least once a week!

Meatboy Dining in Naniwa-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City. The owner, Meat-kun, who used to manage the former Babiru no To Nakazaki store, has opened a set meal restaurant. It has been a while since I last ate here on the final day of Babiru no To. Even though there is always a long line at lunchtime in Temma, the volume and price are definitely worth it. You will be completely satisfied and hooked once you go. Be careful when planning to eat early for dinner, as you might end up with a full stomach! I want to go back and eat the fried chicken again.

I revisited the restaurant because the Char siu and egg I had last time were so delicious. Today, I decided to try the fried chicken. I arrived around 11:15 and the restaurant was already open, with a line forming for the second round. The queue was crazy long! I ordered the following: - Mentaiko mayo chicken set meal for 1100 yen - Large topping rice for an additional 100 yen - Extra fried chicken (1 piece) for 100 yen The person in front of me mentioned that the additional fried chicken had a lot of volume, but no one told me that. The meal was like something out of a Japanese folktale, with a huge portion of rice and a big piece of fried chicken covered in plenty of mentaiko mayo. Who could complain after eating this? It's the ultimate combination. After enjoying the meal, I felt soothed by the soup from Tenichi. I don't think it's a huge portion. Personally, I think this is the ultimate stylish dining experience. I might end up losing weight just by eating here. I might become a regular at this place. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Located just a short distance from Temma and Ogi-machi, this counter-only restaurant looks dangerously high in calories from the outside. The taste was unbelievably delicious, to the point where even though I ordered a large portion, it wasn't enough. The meat was so tender that it could easily be cut with chopsticks. It was simply delicious, and I want to go back again soon.

The address is 3-2 Namikimachi, Kita-ku, Osaka City, and the nearest station is a 3-minute walk from JR Loop Line's "Temma" station. It operates only during lunchtime as a sublease from the izakaya Tonbo. The owner of the second branch of a curry shop that was previously operating in the Tenroku-Nakazakicho shopping street is subleasing this place. I arrived at the store at 11:30. Closed on Thursdays and Fridays. Business hours are from 11:30 to 15:00. It opens at 11:30, but it actually opens as soon as preparations are complete. The first group of customers has already entered, and there are two people waiting outside. The two people in front are famous YouTubers, so the number of customers is likely to increase after their post. There is loud conversation that can be heard, and I was surprised because I visited without any prior research. The store definitely has a strong presence on YouTube, but it may be temporary, so please be aware if you are planning to visit. I entered the store, got permission to take photos, and sat at the counter seat. Currently, there are two menu items: Chashu Egg Set Meal and Negi Chicken Set Meal. Only one of them is available, so please check the store's Instagram post to see which one is being offered. Husband: Chashu Egg Set Meal, with everything please. The Chashu Egg Set Meal costs 1,000 yen, and with all extras (large serving of rice 100 yen, additional fried egg 100 yen, Mao Zedong spice and garlic mayonnaise 100 yen), the total comes to 1,300 yen. After a short wait, the soup and rice were served. The rice is served on a plate similar to Tenka Ippin's, with a wonderful manga-style presentation. The plentiful cabbage, mustard, and red pickled ginger provide a good balance and color. It's an endless loop of deliciousness, and I finished it satisfied! The Tower of Spice Salon Babiru in Nakazaki-cho has closed down, so I was wondering what to do about my craving for Manga Nihon Mukashi Banashi-themed rice bowl. I heard that the owner has opened a new temporary dining place, so I decided to visit. They are operating at Izakaya Tonbo on Tuesdays to Wednesdays. The place only has 6 counter seats, and even though I visited a bit late, there was still a line due to its popularity. They only have one menu item, so no need to worry! You can add toppings such as Chashu Egg Set for 1000 yen, Extra Rice for 100 yen, Additional Fried Egg for 100 yen, Mao Zedong Spice and Garlic Mayonnaise for 100 yen. The thickly sliced chashu, cooked to perfection, is absolutely delicious. The Manga-themed rice bowl (served in a small bowl) and the soup in a Ten-Ichi bowl are also delightful. I immediately cracked open the fried egg to enjoy the chashu. The chashu, with its oily and flavorful sauce, is delicious on its own. When combined with Mao Zedong Spice and Garlic Mayonnaise, the flavor becomes even richer, making you want more rice! The strong sauce also seeps into the cabbage, making it a great side dish for the rice. The soup in the Ten-Ichi bowl is also rich in flavor, making the plain rice taste even better. The rice is cooked perfectly, with a firm texture that is simply irresistible. This place is not about large portions, but about enjoying flavorful dishes with plenty of rice. They also offer a dish with fried chicken and a rich sauce, which I am curious to try next time. If they open a permanent location and expand their menu, I might become a regular customer. I had been curious about this restaurant that I once saw on social media, so I finally visited it when the timing was right. It's a popular shop with long lines, but I was able to get in without waiting the day after a 3-day weekend. The large rice bowl had an artistic mountain of manga-style char siu and a perfectly soft-boiled egg, which went really well together and made the rice disappear in no time. I quickly finished it all, and in the end, I used the remaining char siu and collected egg from the plate to pour over the rice. It was a delicious meal.

Between Temma Station and Temmabashi Station, in a back alley. A sinful indulgence that blows away all concerns about diet and health food. Fatty chashu pork with a fried egg, topped with garlic mayonnaise and Mao Zedong spice. Incredibly delicious, enough to make you swoon. I just can't resist this kind of food, it's instinctual. The soup is served in a plate from Osho, and the white rice is piled high like in a Japanese folktale.

On Sunday at 10:53, the 6th spot in line, the store was supposed to open at 11:30, but it opened early at 11:10. I ordered the Char Siu Egg Set with Mao Zedong spice and garlic mayo. Each meal is made one at a time, and mine finally arrived. It had a beautiful sunny-side-up egg, tender thick slices of Char Siu, and a generous serving of rice. When I left, there were about 10 people waiting in line. The ventilation wasn't great, so it was a bit smoky inside.

【Meat-kun's Borrowed Dining】Osaka Tenma on Tabelog I heard that the popular spice curry restaurant "Spice Salon Babiru no To" suddenly closed in April this year, but the owner, who was the manager there, started a lunch service by borrowing a space and changing things up a bit. I visited the restaurant and tried the Chinese Chicken Nanban set meal for 1100 yen, which I loved since the Babiru no To days. It consisted of three huge pieces of deep-fried chicken with tartar sauce and spicy chili oil generously poured over, giving it a sinful and junky feel. The rice was neatly piled high as before, and instead of curry, there was soup in the same dish from the Babiru days. The chicken was crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. According to the owner, the tartar sauce is calorie-free because it's white, so even those on a diet can enjoy it guilt-free (?). The restaurant is only a 4-minute walk from Tenma Station, operating as a borrowed dining place with only 6 seats at Izakaya Tonbo, serving lunch only.
