Thank you for visiting the Patek Nautilus 40 Instagram page. We would greatly appreciate your "likes," "follows," and "saving our shop." I recently visited "Ginza Donkoji Yamaki," the first branch in Tokyo from the renowned Kyoto restaurant "Tomikoji Yamaki," which opened in November 2023. On that day, Chef Yamagishi from Kyoto was present as well, making for a very lively gathering. The restaurant is a newly built location on the 10th floor of the "Ginza Takagi Building," just a 4-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Ginza Station's C3 exit, a 5-minute walk from JR Shimbashi Station's Ginza exit, and about a 9-minute walk from JR Yurakucho Station's Ginza gate. It’s located directly next door to the WEST pastry shop. This building has wooden structures from the 9th to the 12th floors and was a topic of interest even before completion. Inside, there is an L-shaped counter with 12 seats along with private dining rooms. The ambiance is very bright, and there’s a garden view from the windows. You select one dish each from the "sides," "sashimi," "main dishes," and "vegetables" to start. There are many other options available, so you can order freely afterward. Similar to "Donkoji Yamaki" in Kyoto, the menu is almost like an à la carte. The water used for cooking is specially brought in from Kyoto. The oden, showcasing this exquisite dashi broth, was exceptional. The flavors soaked into the ingredients released a delightful taste with every bite. Additionally, you can still order the "famous Uni Dog," which has been kept in hiatus in Kyoto lately. Many others had ordered it as well! Other dishes like "Grilled Gyoza," "Ika Yakisoba," and "Potato Salad with Iburi Gakko" were also delicious, and I highly recommend them. Here's what I enjoyed that day: "Famous Uni Dog," "Hamo and Plum Rice Steamed Dish," "Sashimi - Chutoro, Kensasaki Squid, Sea Urchin, Shima Ebi, and Akinai Sea Bream with Kombu," "Kobe Beef and Kujo Leek Stir-Fry," "Kyoto Red Chicken and Matsutake Sukiyaki," "Persimmon with White Miso," "Chrysanthemum Greens with Sesame Dressing," "Sandzu Gizzard and Kujo Leek Stir-Fry," "Potato Salad with Iburi Gakko," "Grilled Eel," "Oden," "Grilled Gyoza x2," "Ika Yakisoba," and "Karasumi Soba." I had a wonderful time, and I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I had a year-end dinner with my former colleagues (five men in their late 30s to late 50s) in Ginza. We visited "Nomi Kōji Yamakishi," which opened about a year ago on the 10th floor of the Takagi Building in Ginza 7-chōme, originally from Kyoto's Kawaramachi. The restaurant features a U-shaped counter surrounding an open kitchen, creating a clean and pleasant atmosphere. We ordered the short course, which costs 10,000 yen (excluding drinks) including appetizers and sashimi, showcasing seasonal delicacies. The cuisine transcended typical izakaya fare, offering elegant Kyoto-style kaiseki dishes with well-executed dashi, and each dish featured high-quality ingredients. Although the staff suggested we could order additional items after the course if we didn’t feel full, I decided against it. I felt that even more refined dishes wouldn’t provide the satisfaction of fullness I was looking for, so we settled up the bill. Having a year-end gathering with five men here seemed inappropriate. This isn’t the fault of the restaurant; I realized it was my mistake in choosing the place. It seems more suited for couples, perhaps men bringing less-eating women. If the setting is appropriate, I would consider it a good restaurant. One thing to note: the receipt does not print the date.

It was my first visit and I really enjoyed it! The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere with both counter seating and private rooms. We had a course meal that included three types of obanzai (Japanese side dishes), sashimi, shrimp and taro with a sauce, and mackerel sushi. You can also order anything else from the à la carte menu! I added a salt ramen for the final dish, and it was also incredibly delicious! I couldn't get a good photo of the three types of obanzai, so I gave up trying to capture it. I definitely want to come back to this place!

On this day, I made a reservation at "Ginza Non Koji Yamakishi." This izakaya is run by the popular Kyoto kaiseki restaurant "Tomikoji Yamakishi" and marks the group's first venture into Tokyo. It has been recognized as one of the top 100 izakayas for 2024. Unlike Tomikoji Yamakishi, it's easy to make reservations online here. The interior features counter seating that surrounds an open kitchen. The clientele mostly consists of men with flashy-looking women and general couples, making me the only solo diner (sigh). I opted for the "Seasonal Four Dishes for ¥10,000." First, a set of four dishes including sashimi and a soup was served, followed by the option to add à la carte items. ◆ Autumn O-banzai: This included a mushroom ohitashi, simmered manga ji peppers with dried fish, and chikuwa tempura. The ohitashi featured various types of mushrooms like nameko, and the tender, slightly thick dashi combined well with the mushrooms. The manja ji peppers and tempura were quite average. ◆ Sakana (Sashimi) of the Day: This included flatfish, Spanish mackerel, and bluefin tuna. The flatfish was rich in flavor and had a nice texture. In contrast, the lightly seared Spanish mackerel was decent, while the bluefin tuna was lacking in flavor and fat content. ◆ Matsutake and Chicken Sukiyaki: This dish was the main attraction, featuring matsutake mushrooms and chicken thighs simmered in a lighter sweet and savory sauce. The mushrooms were thick and crunchy, and dipping the chicken in a rich egg yolk made it incredibly delicious. ◆ Mackerel Sushi: I had been looking forward to the sea urchin dog, but the menu had changed. True to Kyoto style, the sushi used thick mackerel. The rice was fresh and refreshing with sesame and perilla, and the nori was high quality. ◆ Oden (Wagyu Beef Tendon ¥600, Egg ¥400): The seasonal four dishes were just not enough, so I added some oden. Unfortunately, the flavor hadn't penetrated well—just an average oden experience. The portion of beef tendon was also quite small. I had the following drinks: Sapporo Black Label Draft Beer ¥1,000, Monkey Shoulder with soda ¥800 (x2). Perhaps I had set my expectations too high because it was part of the Yamakishi group. Considering the Ginza prices, it could be seen as a decent effort. I took some photos of the menu, which I hope will be helpful for those visiting. So, thank you for this meal once again!

The oden izakaya has a decent taste, but the prices are a bit on the higher side. It could be a good option for a date course. The atmosphere is that of a cozy counter-style izakaya, but the J-pop music playing in the background slightly spoiled the vibe.

It was the weekend and all the counters were fully booked. The layout made it feel like the cooking staff was quite close. The atmosphere was bright and clean, and the casual matching T-shirts of the staff gave a sense of activity. After the usual four dishes, we ordered a few more items, but among them, the gyoza had a bit of sweetness from the sauce. Everything was reasonably good, but I couldn't help but have high expectations because of the restaurant's ambiance. I felt that I wanted a bit more creativity and overwhelming deliciousness. With the rise of amazing restaurants in this style, I can't deny that I felt somewhat unsatisfied. It was clear that the staff was diligent, so I look forward to what they can offer in the future. Thank you for the meal.

Visited after 9 PM. I'm very pleased with the quality of this restaurant that stays open until late at night. I enjoyed some fried matsutake mushrooms with shochu soda, sipping slowly. The variety of alcoholic drinks is also quite extensive. The U-shaped counter is great, and there are private rooms available as well, which is very helpful.

I've been curious about this place for a while, and after an urgent dinner meeting came up, I made a reservation. I thought the interior would mainly feature a counter, but it actually has private rooms as well, and I even saw customers with babies. The atmosphere is nice, but for some reason, there was a lot of old songs playing, which I felt somewhat ruined the vibe. It might be just right for older gentlemen, but I couldn't help thinking, "Couldn’t they choose something better?" I chose the short course priced at 10,000 yen, which includes small dishes, sashimi, fried items, and sea urchin hot dogs. Considering the price, the cost-performance isn’t great, and it actually feels expensive. However, the small dishes were delicious, and both the sea bream and Spanish mackerel sashimi were tasty. The eel served before the fried matsutake was also good. The quality is certainly reliable. The portion sizes were a bit small, just right for older gentlemen, but we were still a bit hungry, so we ordered some heshiko (fermented fish) and dumplings as extras. They have a variety of whiskeys, with Monkey Shoulder being the cheapest at 800 yen. For Ginza, that’s to be expected. This place seems suitable for dates or business meetings. Thank you for the meal!

At the famous restaurant Yamakishi in Kyoto, I had the izakaya-style menu. For 10,000 yen, I enjoyed four dishes: side dishes (obanzai), sashimi, matsutake mushroom tempura, and uni dog. You could also add a la carte items according to your preferences. The gyoza was the most delicious. As for the uni dog, it made me realize the challenges of fusion cuisine.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual. It was surprisingly comfortable, considering it's located in Ginza. We started with four dishes, and then we continued to order a la carte. The portions were generous, and I felt completely full. My favorites were the lightly boiled conger eel and the luxurious sea urchin roll. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

It's been about a year since my last visit. There was only one group at the early hour of 5 PM, so it felt quite comfortable. ✔ The water eggplant was fresh, with no bitterness, and delicious. It was mixed with a unique umami-rich Kaneyama miso, making it the best. ✔ The beef tendon and daikon were comforting. The daikon, cooked in a delicious broth, was not overly soft, and the tendon from Kobe beef was incredibly flavorful. ✔ The sautéed mushrooms showcased the gentle flavors of the ingredients. The yuzu aroma was nice, but it might have been a bit too cold. ✔ The charred horse mackerel had a firm texture and was light yet well-marbled with fat. The grilling added a lovely aroma, making it even tastier. ✔ The medium-fatty tuna was incredibly delicious; this tuna was just amazing. ✔ The service provided a generous serving of mozuku seaweed, which was completely different from what I usually eat—crispy and incredibly delicious. ✔ The conger eel was exceptional; as expected from Yamakishi. It was thick and hefty with delicious fat, and I loved the plum and grated daikon, which is a specialty of the Yamakishi group. ✔ The fried matsutake mushrooms were likely still from China, but they were good enough; the aroma wasn't that strong, but it certainly conveyed the feeling of autumn. ✔ The chikuwa seaweed tempura was a simple dish, but it was the best quality tempura—it's irresistible with the flavor of the seaweed. This is a must-try. ✔ The dried daikon was served in a small dish, serving as a refreshing palate cleanser. ✔ The fried yuba with mugwort and millet was delicious, but nothing that stood out in particular. ✔ The sea urchin dog was a pleasant surprise; you can't find it at 富小路 (Tomikoji) now, so it was delightful. The sea urchin was delicious, without any off-flavors and with a strong sweetness, and the nori was great. ✔ I also requested a udon dish, which was a hidden menu item. The broth was delicious, and the thin dry noodles had a good chew and slipped down easily. I'm so happy to be able to enjoy Yamakishi cuisine even in Tokyo. Meeting former colleagues from my time in Kyoto adds even more value for me. 3.69

This was my second visit to this restaurant. It’s part of the Yamaki series, so while it's a high-end izakaya, everything I ordered was reliably delicious. They offered a set of four dishes for 10,000 yen, and afterwards, it was a completely à la carte style. I really appreciate that, but it might be tough for them to manage with the location and other factors. The food was just as amazing as before! It’s really nice to find that even the seemingly simple dishes can be quite delicious. If I were to miss out on a place I don’t know well, I might prefer to come here despite the slightly higher prices (゚Д゚) Thank you for the meal! It was about 15,000 yen in total.

The total cost was 7,800 yen, including alcohol. After enjoying dinner at Shinbashi Hoshino, I felt a craving for some salt ramen while walking towards my hotel, so I made a little detour. At Yamaki, where hospitality was abundant, I ended up ordering quite a bit. The salt ramen was, of course, delicious, and the fried horse mackerel was also really tasty.

I visited "Ginza Nomikouji Yamakishi," located in Chuo Ward, Tokyo. The restaurant is situated on the 10th floor of a building about a six-minute walk from JR "Shimbashi Station." It features a stunning counter seating arranged around the kitchen, as well as private rooms. You might raise an eyebrow at the name, but this restaurant is the first Tokyo branch of the acclaimed "Tomikouji Yamakishi" from Kyoto, which has won numerous awards, including the "The Tabelog Award 2024 Silver." It opened in November 2023. Here’s what I had during my visit (with a few comments on each dish): ○ Summer Vegetable Owanza: The dashi (broth) was incredibly delicious, and the vegetables soaked it up perfectly, allowing the rich flavors of the seasonal produce to shine through. ○ Hamo Fry: ○ Uni Dog: A dish that uni lovers will find irresistible. ○ Fried Chicken Wings: ○ Grilled Gyoza: Exceeded my expectations in terms of flavor. ○ Fried Octopus: ○ Soy Sauce Ramen: Thank you for the meal!

In August 2024, I visited "Ginza Nonkoji Yamakishi," which is the first Tokyo branch of the popular Kyoto Japanese restaurant "Tomikoji Yamakishi." This place carries on the philosophy of Yamakishi in a casual izakaya setting. It's located on the 10th floor of a building just a 6-minute walk from Ginza Metro Station. Despite being an izakaya, the atmosphere is quite nice. So, how does the food taste? (*´∇`)ノ ■ Omakase - 10,000 yen ⚫ Seasonal Vegetable Stew: Winter melon, corn, sweet shrimp, yam, and okra. Looks great... and the taste is impressive! I expected something pre-prepared, but both the temperature and presentation were spot on. The sweetness of the corn really stands out. ………………………………… ⚫ Today's Sashimi: A three-piece assortment of bluefin tuna, horse mackerel, and white clams. Hmm, it was just average. If I'm just having regular sashimi, I wouldn't need to come to this restaurant (although it maintains a decent quality). ………………………………… ⚫ Hamo Tempura: Tempura of pike eel, Manganji pepper, and new onions in sauce. The tempura is served fresh. The broth is delicious, and while the presentation is quite traditional, it is well executed. ………………………………… ⚫ Uni Dog: Their signature dish "Uni Dog" really presents well! ✨✨ I often say that some dishes are just topped with uni, but the quality of uni here is exceptional. I genuinely found it delicious (now that's individuality). ■ Drinks ⚫ Ebisu Beer (small bottle) - 1,000 yen ■ Service It was average. They could definitely improve the service level. ■ Total Cost 11,000 yen, which is a fair price. No service charge, and prices include tax, especially for a prime location in Ginza. It might not be very profitable, depending on how it's utilized. (*´ェ`*) It's a good spot to enjoy casual Japanese cuisine in the heart of Ginza. Aside from the sashimi, everything seems to reflect the standards of "Tomikoji Yamakishi." Thank you for the meal! m(_ _)m □ Rating As of August 2024, the Tabelog rating is 3.68 with 71 reviews. □ Chef Yukihiro Yamakishi is in charge of this first Tokyo location. Born in 1975 in Kyoto, he trained at prestigious restaurants like "Tankuma Kitten Honten" and "Kyoto Ichinoden" before founding "Tomikoji Yamakishi" in 2015. He also has a cultural background as a tea ceremony instructor, flower arrangement master, and calligraphy teacher, contributing to various concepts including "Nijo Yamakishi" and "Nonkoji Yamakishi."

10th floor of a building. Arrived at 9 PM (Friday, reservation made). There were a few empty seats. Only counter seating, the chairs were hard, and the space between seats was narrow. The first four dishes were appetizers costing 10,000 yen, with à la carte items priced around 1,200 yen each. Drinks were around 1,000 to 1,600 yen for half a serving. The appetizers included four dishes presented in the initial photos. There weren't any particularly unusual items on the menu. The taste of the à la carte dishes was good. The portions were suitable for sharing among 2 to 3 people. There was a wide variety of drinks available, but the selection of sake was somewhat limited. Possibly due to the few staff members involved in cooking, the service speed was slow even for the appetizers. With some empty seats, the casual conversation among the idle staff was noticeable. This might have just been a coincidence, but I was curious about the content of the appetizers, and it didn't seem suitable for indulging in solo dining. I forgot to take pictures, but the dried squid was delicious.

This was my first visit. They start with a set of four standard dishes, and after that, you can add à la carte items. Each dish was of high quality and very delicious. Personally, I really liked the dumplings and the grilled eel sashimi. It seems they are open quite late, so I think the best way to enjoy it is as a second stop, having a light meal while drinking.

3700 yen. Kyoto highball 1000 yen, sand neck with Kujo green onion 1200 yen, soy sauce ramen 1500 yen. I have officially recognized this place as an establishment that disrupts my diet. On this day, I found myself wandering around Ginza for some post-meal exercise, and before I knew it... It was fully booked, but I was specially allowed to stay for just 40 minutes, so I ended up with a small late-night snack. Still, I just can’t resist this soy sauce ramen.
