I heard that my favorite motsunabe (beef tripe hot pot) restaurant, Yamanaka, from Fukuoka finally opened in Tokyo, so I visited for the first time. Reservations can be made through Tabelog, and it’s rare for a motsunabe place to offer lunch reservations. Since it hasn't even been a year since opening, the interior is very beautiful. The restaurant has quite a few seats, and although the prices are slightly higher than in Fukuoka, I can’t help but feel a bit worried about whether they can turn a profit in such a location in Ginza.
They offer a solo diner's motsunabe set, but since I was there, I opted for a course meal. I wanted to enjoy the final dish of champon (noodles), after all! There are three course options priced at 6600 yen, 7700 yen, and 8800 yen. Each course includes a platter of appetizers, motsunabe, additional motsu (tripe) and vegetable servings, a final dish, and dessert. The 7700 yen course adds boiled tongue and stewed daikon, while the 8800 yen course includes a sweet braised beef cheek. I greedily chose the full 8800 yen course, but by the time we reached the additional motsu, I was already quite full, so for those with smaller appetites, the 8800 yen course might be too much.
When it comes to Yamanaka's motsunabe, the miso broth is overwhelmingly recommended! The tender tripe perfectly matches with the champon as the final dish. There are fancy wines available, fitting for Ginza, but to be honest, wine doesn’t pair well with motsunabe, so I went for a shandy (790 yen). I definitely want to return when I crave motsunabe again.

Walking from the Sukiyabashi intersection towards Uniqlo, I found that the former dim sum Chinese restaurant has been replaced by a stylish and modern oden restaurant known for its famous Hakata-style motsunabe (beef offal hot pot). The motsunabe course includes several appetizers before you can choose between miso or soy sauce for the hot pot. They claim to specialize in miso, so I ordered that. The tender offal is delicious, but the cabbage, garlic chives, and burdock root vegetables are also really tasty. You can add more ingredients if you like. For the final touch, I recommend the champon noodles as the perfect way to finish the meal. While stylish motsunabe is nice, it can get quite strong-smelling!

Today, I visited this restaurant for our company year-end party. It’s just a short distance from Yurakucho Station, and I've been curious about it since I've often walked past it. As soon as I stepped inside, I was met with a luxurious atmosphere typical of Ginza. I opted for the course meal priced at 7,700 yen, which started with appetizers inspired by Kyushu cuisine. The highlight was the “miso-flavored” hot pot, recommended by the staff. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Today was my first visit, and I enjoyed everything from the appetizers to the main dish of hot pot. The appetizer platter, including ume hijiki and mentaiko, was delicious, and the shabu-shabu-style motsunabe and the champon at the end were all elegantly seasoned, leaving me with no feeling of heaviness at all. Since it was my first time, I opted for the light shabu-shabu-style motsunabe, but I would like to try the classic miso flavor next time. By the way, I ordered Chablis wine, which was very reasonably priced, so we ended up opening two bottles for two people. The restaurant itself was also very clean, with spacious seating, making for a satisfying experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited for the first time and ordered a course meal. I was glad to be able to try a variety of signature dishes. I had a hard time deciding between miso and soy sauce for the motsunabe, but I went with the recommended miso. The white miso was enjoyable and I was able to eat it all the way to the end without getting bored. The dessert, almond jelly, had nata de coco in it, which was refreshing. Next time, I’d like to try the soy sauce version.

I was so impressed by the food in Fukuoka that I decided to visit the Ginza location. For lunch, everything was served on one tray, giving it a set meal vibe. Unfortunately, the motsunabe got lukewarm after a while, which was disappointing. My friend mentioned that in Fukuoka, there are various condiments on the table to enjoy changing the flavors, and the lack of that here was also a letdown.

I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about for a long time. I ordered a miso-flavored motsunabe (beef tripe hot pot), and it was rich and packed with garlic flavor. The tripe was tender and incredibly delicious. The chanko noodles at the end of the meal were also outstanding. True to the charm of Ginza, the restaurant was very clean and had a luxurious feel. I highly recommend it for a date.

■Order Details: Yamachu Course
■Feedback: The beautifully arranged dishes reminiscent of kaiseki cuisine immediately capture the heart. The rich miso-flavored motsunabe perfectly pairs with the finishing champon noodles.
■Restaurant Atmosphere: The interior is divided by noren curtains, providing a semi-private space that seems suitable for various occasions, from business meetings to dates.
■Access: About a 10-minute walk from Yurakucho Station.

I visited the Ginza store for its first anniversary. Although the entrance is narrow, the interior is spacious with ample seating (but be careful with the stairs ⚠️). During lunch, each person gets their own hot pot, allowing them to choose their preferred flavor. I opted for the miso flavor. First, I was surprised by the size of the pot! It seemed too large for one person. The tenderness of the meat combined with the smoothness of the miso flavor was delightful; I took a bite and thought, "This is delicious!" The "ume hijiki" served with the meal was also a unique and delicious flavor that I haven't experienced elsewhere. Even those who aren't fond of "motsu" (offal) should definitely give it a try; it’s a remarkable dish!

I'm a 55-year-old businessman who travels nationwide for work, and when it comes to the top gourmet dish in Hakata, it's definitely motsunabe (beef tripe hot pot). Among the restaurants, the most popular is Yamana, which has now been in Ginza for a year. To celebrate this occasion, I received a souvenir! I've been enjoying Hakata motsunabe for nearly 20 years and have visited more than 15 famous and popular establishments. My top two favorites for repeat visits are Yamana and Ichio.
Generally, I prefer the miso flavor at most places because it's delicious, but these two restaurants stand out for their exceptionally sweet and rich taste. Personally, I was attracted to the fact that you could only enjoy it in Hakata, so I didn't want them to expand to Tokyo... The prices in Ginza are almost double!
I love rich, fatty flavors, and this dense taste is simply irresistible! Here’s the course lunch menu:
- Appetizer assortment: beef sashimi, senmai (cow's stomach), spicy cod roe, fresh yuba (tofu skin), ume hijiki (hijiki seaweed with plum),
- Motsunabe (beef tripe hot pot) with miso flavor,
- Add-ons: extra tripe, extra vegetables,
- Noodle finish: champon (thick noodles),
- Dessert: today's ice cream (Shine Muscat).
Next month, I'm going to Hakata for the last time this year, and I was torn over which place to choose. After today’s visit, I've decided to go to Ichio! Thank you for the meal!

This was my first visit. I ordered the 10-dish course and chose the miso-flavored motsunabe (beef tripe hot pot). Every dish served as an appetizer was delicious, and the motsunabe included refills for both the tripe and vegetables, which made for a very satisfying experience! I definitely plan to visit again.

A few years ago, I had a delicious motsunabe (beef intestine hot pot) at Yamanaka in Fukuoka, and I couldn’t forget it. I heard that they opened a branch in Ginza, so I decided to visit. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, likely due to the many salarymen in the area. My impression is that the customer base and ambiance at the Fukuoka location are much better. The Ginza branch has brighter lighting, and the overall setup feels more like an izakaya with its seating arrangements.
Here’s what I ordered:
- Motsunabe (miso flavor)
- Chopped salad
- Boiled beef tongue and simmered daikon
- Ice cream of the day (Shine Muscat)
Choosing the motsunabe in miso flavor was definitely the right decision! It had a strong flavor that paired well with beer. The boiled beef tongue and the roast beef on the chopped salad were exceptionally delicious as well, making the meal enjoyable beyond just the motsunabe.
I would recommend this place for office drinking parties or gatherings with friends. Whenever I crave delicious motsunabe, I will come back again.

I have visited Yamanaka in Fukuoka a few times. The interior is new and sophisticated, giving a sense of cleanliness. Despite the extraordinary entrance and staircase, since I had a reservation for 5:00 PM, part-time staff were occasionally coming in through the back door, which brought a touch of reality, but it didn't bother me at all. The flavors of the dishes are generally delightful and pair well with drinks; I enjoyed beer and sweet potato soda. I added extra beef tripe and vegetables to my course, and I had champon noodles as well. It had been a while since I enjoyed a hot pot with tripe, and I had a truly satisfying time. I will definitely come back again.

It's a bit pricey, but you can take your time and enjoy the luxurious atmosphere, which seems perfect for a date! Don't forget to try the champon for the finale. It's definitely a plus that it's close to the station! They also serve lunch, so if you're not drinking, lunch is definitely a more affordable option. The interior is spacious and has a clean feel!

I had a really delicious meal in Fukuoka, so I decided to visit the new location in Ginza. The prices are on the higher side, but the interior and seating atmosphere are nice, which justifies the cost. We ordered miso for two and then added some offal. For the finale, we enjoyed champon noodles followed by a rice porridge. Both dishes were very tasty. It was also convenient that the kitchen prepared the porridge for us.

During my visit to Fukuoka, I always make it a point to go to my favorite motsunabe restaurant. I recently found out that they expanded to Tokyo, so I decided to visit. I made a reservation for a weekday evening at 7:30 PM.
I ordered the motsunabe with miso flavor and the beef vinegar sauce. This was my first time visiting the Ginza location, and as soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by an irresistible aroma. The motsunabe, loaded with garlic, had that deliciously sinful feeling and tasted amazing. It made me so happy to enjoy Yamanaka’s motsunabe again after such a long time! ^ ^

The restaurant is located about a 2-minute walk from Ginza Station. The interior is primarily designed with wood tones, creating an atmosphere of luxury and calm. The seating includes box seats and semi-private areas separated by curtains, allowing for a relaxed experience. It's a versatile place suitable for dates or casual meals with friends. This time, I opted for the Yamachan course (¥6,600), which includes the following:
- Appetizer (Hijiki Seaweed Salad)
- Five small dishes (Ume Hijiki, Senmai, Vinegar Marinated Offal, Mentaiko, Yuba Sashimi)
- Motsunabe (Offal Hot Pot) in miso flavor (with free additions of offal and vegetables)
- Noodles for the hot pot (Champon noodles)
- Dessert (Almond Tofu)
Among the dishes, I particularly enjoyed the small dish (Senmai) and the Motsunabe (miso flavor).
- **Senmai**: It uses both white and black senmai, providing a crunchy texture, and the combination with green onions and ponzu sauce created a refreshing taste that was delightful. Each small dish paired well with drinks, making the meal even more enjoyable.
- **Motsunabe (Miso Flavor)**: This hot pot featured a rich, sweet miso broth with ingredients like garlic chives, burdock root, tofu, cabbage, and offal. The offal was juicy and packed with flavor, while the broth had a punch from garlic that infused well into the offal and vegetables, rendering it delicious. Accompanying condiments included chili, garlic, and yuzu pepper, with the yuzu pepper providing a refreshing contrast to the broth's richness, making for a perfect match.
This restaurant seems suitable for both romantic dinners and casual business meetings. I look forward to visiting again at a good time!

I heard that a famous motsu nabe (beef tripe hot pot) restaurant from Hakata can be found in Ginza, so I made a reservation and visited. I ordered the miso-flavored motsu nabe, and it was consistently delicious! It really paired well with the drinks. For the finish, I ordered rice, green onions, egg, and seaweed. I ended up feeling quite full and was very satisfied!

Since it suddenly got cold, I decided to visit a motsunabe (beef tripe hot pot) restaurant in Ginza that I had been curious about! The interior was very clean and had an elegant atmosphere. There were many customers, and it felt lively. This time, I ordered the miso-flavored motsunabe. They brought out a pre-cooked version, which meant I didn't have to wait long to eat. Plus, there was an IH stove on the table, and the staff was attentive, even picking up small bits of trash! Their hospitality was outstanding! However, I found that the flavor of the hot pot became a bit too salty for me after the second serving, which was disappointing. I wonder if they can adjust the seasoning if I ask? If they can, I would definitely come back again! It seems that the main branch is in Hakata, so I’d like to visit that one someday too. Oh, and the kimchi I ordered separately was delicious!

This was the most delicious motsunabe I've ever had! If I had to nitpick, I would say the portion was a bit small. It comes out already prepared, so there's no need to monitor the cooking process, and anyone can enjoy it in a perfect state. I definitely want to go back!

Since I visited the Akasaka location in Hakata last year, I recently passed by Yamachu and decided to stop by for some delicious motsunabe on my way back from shopping. Since it was a weekday, I was seated right away. I quickly chose the course menu, which came with 9 dishes. It seemed that both the content and price had changed a bit since my last visit to the Akasaka location.
First up was a refreshing draft beer, which was excellent. The appetizer platter featured a variety of items, making it perfect for enjoying with drinks. Just as I finished the appetizers, the motsunabe arrived! This time, I opted for the miso-based version. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and taking my first bite was delightful. For the final dish, I went with champon noodles. I left feeling completely full.
Everything was delicious today, and I really enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
