This is a popular Shimane cuisine restaurant that has moved from Mitsukoshimae to Nijubashi-mae. I had visited the previous location and found everything I tried there to be delicious, so when I heard about the move, I quickly made a reservation. Basically, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but you must try the ultimate "Tsutsui-style" sashimi platter, which features expertly prepared fish. It's exceptional. On that day, they also had fresh oysters, which were plump and amazing. The anago (conger eel) is a specialty from Shimane, and it's light and flavorful. Finally, we had mackerel shabu-shabu. The mackerel can also be enjoyed as sashimi, which is a significant feature of this place. You can really tell how fresh the fish is. The broth for the shabu-shabu is incredibly tasty, making you want to drink it all up. I look forward to returning soon for a gathering or a banquet.

Today, I visited "Mondo Yurakucho," a restaurant specializing in Shimane cuisine and saba shabu, located in the underground restaurant area of Nijubashi Square. It’s easily accessible from both Yurakucho and Nijubashi stations, and it’s really convenient since it's directly connected from the Nijubashi station ticket gate! By the way, I noticed that the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry is located in this building—it's highly modern!
As for the restaurant itself, I have to say this first: you can drink the best draft beer in the world here! It truly has divine foam! I'm not a huge fan of beer, but this one is incredibly delicious! You can really feel the craftsmanship and dedication behind it, so even those who aren’t beer lovers should try at least one glass. The staff provided outstanding hospitality, and I can understand why there are so many regular customers!
The food was absolutely top-notch! We opted for a course meal this time, and the freshness of the seafood was exceptional! Plus, the broth was unbelievably delicious! The portion sizes were hearty, and each dish was crafted with care, leaving me very satisfied! I believe this place would impress anyone during a business meeting. There were quite a few couples even on a Saturday, and despite being in an office area, it seemed quite busy. It's definitely best to make a reservation if you plan to go!

On this day, I had an event in Yurakucho, so I thought I would grab lunch beforehand. Since it was Saturday, I suspected it might be crowded, so I made a reservation the day before. I struggled to choose between a seafood bowl, a grilled mackerel rice bowl, or a seafood inari bowl, and finally decided on the grilled mackerel rice bowl, which is their most popular dish. When I arrived, there were only a few groups, but by the time I finished eating, the place was nearly full! It really is a popular restaurant.
As for the taste, the grilled mackerel was delicious, of course, but the egg was also tasty, and the popping tobiko added a nice touch, making it enjoyable until the last bite. Following the instructions provided, I made it into a delicious broth over rice for the final bite. I even thought about how I should have ordered the large portion of rice, it was so good until the very end! I definitely want to revisit this place the next time I come to Yurakucho.

I decided to treat myself a little and chose the mackerel shabu-shabu that I had been curious about! It comes with seven slices of fresh mackerel sashimi that can be eaten raw, a broth made with sweet soy sauce and local sake, and it includes onion and bean sprouts soaked in the broth, along with tororo (grated yam), simmered eggplant, kombu tsukudani (kelp preserve), ginger and garlic, and wasabi for eating it raw with soy sauce! I first tried the sashimi and it was refreshing and delicious. The main event, the shabu-shabu, paired well with the broth and tororo, and it was really good! The vegetables were nicely infused with flavor, which was great.

This was my second visit! This time I ordered the Original Grilled Mackerel Rice Bowl (¥1,200). There was quite a generous amount of flaked grilled mackerel, and the rice portion was substantial, so I felt really full… (°▽°) Personally, I preferred eating it as is rather than as a tea rice porridge! The Mackerel Shabu Shabu Set also looked delicious~ (°▽°)

I visited the restaurant around 11:10 AM on a weekday and was able to enter without any wait. I ordered the limited 10 servings of mackerel shabu-shabu set meal. They suggested dipping the mackerel in the broth about three times before eating, so I followed their advice. After dipping it briefly, the fish became slightly heated and had a fluffy texture, which was delicious. Personally, I prefer my mackerel a bit rare, so just dipping it once was the best for my taste. I was satisfied to enjoy the unusual mackerel shabu-shabu for lunch at a great price.

The grilled mackerel, shredded and served like chirashi sushi, is placed on rice and presented in a wooden bucket. To finish, it is accompanied by a flavorful dashi broth for an ochazuke-style dish. The dashi is so delicious that I always make sure to turn it into ochazuke at the end. The miso soup has a flavor reminiscent of fish bone soup, but the ingredients inside are onion and green onion. There was also a small serving of tofu topped with grated daikon, giving it a special touch.

This is my first visit. I found a restaurant in Nihonbashi that serves mackerel shabu-shabu, which I had been curious about for a while. Besides shabu-shabu, they have a wide variety of other menu items, making it really difficult to decide what to order. After consulting with my stomach, I selected four dishes. This, along with the finishing touch of udon, left me completely satisfied. The selection of sake was excellent and picking drinks was a lot of fun; everything was delicious. The service was also great. I will definitely come back again.

I attended a regular meeting with my close senior for the first time. The value for the course menu was great, and all the dishes were delicious. I especially enjoyed the mackerel, which I love. The staff provided polite service, allowing me to relax and have a wonderful time. Thank you very much!

I had made a reservation, and to my delight, there was even a message card on the table. I came in the mood for lunch and decided to order a non-alcoholic beer, which was a nice touch. As the name of the restaurant suggests, mackerel is their specialty, and they offer it prepared in various ways. While mackerel sashimi is somewhat common in Kyushu and the San'in region, it's quite rare in Tokyo, so just having it on the menu is great, and the quality is outstanding. The mackerel used for the shabu-shabu is also fresh enough to eat raw, so I tried a piece as sashimi, and it was incredibly delicious. It made me smile with joy. The shabu-shabu pot was, of course, tasty, and I believe it will become even more flavorful as the season progresses.

It's a little past 11 AM on a weekday, and I'm having lunch at a place near the office. Since it just opened at 11, I was able to get in smoothly. The lively greeting is very pleasant. I placed my order using the QR code on the table, which is quite trendy. I went with the limited "Luxurious Japan Sea Shimane Bowl" for 1,200 yen, requesting a smaller portion of rice (150g). It arrived shortly, and it looks incredibly delicious. The cost performance is excellent. The fish slices are thick, providing a satisfying bite and are very tasty. I often see the place filled with customers, so I understand why it's popular. I’d like to come back for dinner sometime.

I used to live in the San'in region, so this restaurant brings back great memories. I often went to places in Yonago, but this one offers flavors that are just as good, if not better. The mackerel shabu-shabu and other sashimi featuring the seafood from the Sea of Japan are fantastic. I also enjoyed the local sake from Shimane.

Today, I worked near KIITTE. For lunch, I decided to eat the Gainadon at Mondo-san. However, while looking at the menu on the signboard, I was drawn to the Japan Sea Shimane Don and the Saba Shabu set meal. The Saba Shabu set meal sounded especially tempting. If I ordered that, I would want to drink a bit, so I went with my original choice of Gainadon. The saba was delicious—very sweet and tasty. In the end, I added some broth to make it like a chazuke, and it was also great. The broth had a wonderful flavor, so much so that it was enjoyable even on its own. The miso soup also had a rich broth, making it delicious as well. Mondo-san’s saba is fantastic. Next time, I want to try the Saba Shabu for dinner.

There was a unique Shimane cuisine restaurant in the basement of an office building in Marunouchi. The restaurant had an open and bright atmosphere, and the staff were energetic and very friendly. There were many dishes I had never eaten before, and I enjoyed trying the delicious food. I would love to visit again after work!

Visited on Saturday at 12 PM. The place was empty, allowing for a smooth entry. Reservations are possible for lunch as well. There was a pot of Tsuwano roasted green tea on the table, which was flavorful and delicious.
I ordered the Shima-ika marinated rice bowl for 1,200 yen, and it took about 5 minutes to be served. The texture was sticky and rich; it was tasty, but a bit monotonous, leading to some mild fatigue in flavor. The small side dish of ohitashi was lightly seasoned, making it a perfect palate cleanser. The miso soup was made with fish bones, which made it somewhat difficult to eat. The building housing this restaurant is usually quiet on weekends, so it might be a hidden gem for lunch.

Located underground at Nijubashi Square between Tokyo Station and Yurakucho, this izakaya uses ingredients from Shimane and ships fresh produce directly to Tokyo, while striving to avoid additives and chemical seasonings. I visited for lunch and ordered the Oke-mori Gainadon for 1,400 yen. This dish resembles a seafood chirashi sushi loaded with toppings. Although each piece is cut small, the portion is generous enough to enjoy a variety of seafood. You can also make it into a dashi-chazuke, which allows you to add condiments like salted kelp for a flavor change. The miso soup is a fish stock-based soup that packs a solid umami punch from the fish. I'm looking forward to visiting this place at night for some Shimane sake.

I visited the Nijubashi store for the second time, this time with someone who will soon be part of my family! It's a place that you can enjoy with friends, family, or on a date, and the food is really delicious, so I highly recommend it. This time, we just ate and drank a lot together. We were completely full! I was really happy with the service of having the salad and clam soup pre-divided for each person. It was such a thoughtful gesture! I tried grilled chicken for the first time at Mondo, and it was better than what you’d find at an average yakitori restaurant. I was satisfied with the taste when I craved yakitori. I plan to visit again with my dad next time♪ I’d love to go with my family again too! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This restaurant, located near the Imperial Palace in Hibiya, is great for enjoying the cuisine of Shimane. The mackerel can be enjoyed both grilled and fresh, and it tastes very fresh and delicious. They also offer a sake tasting menu, which is perfect for sake enthusiasts. You can enjoy sake by the glass starting from around 660 yen. The saba shabu (mackerel hot pot) is also delicious.

Shima-meika marinated rice bowl (¥1200). This is a Shimane cuisine specialty restaurant located in Nijubashi Square. The Shima-meika, freshly delivered from Oki Island, has a mild flavor and a wonderfully sticky texture with great chewiness! The Tsuwano mame tea, said to be Japan’s oldest herbal tea, adds a subtle sweetness that refreshes the palate.

Today is the first Monday of September, and it's the day of the month when I have lunch with my manager. Based on my manager's request, we went to "Mondo," a Shimane cuisine restaurant located in the Nijubashi Square. I recommended the "Homemade Grilled Mackerel Rice Bowl" to my manager, while I ordered the "Sea of Japan Shimane Bowl (1,200 yen)." Last time, I felt that the ingredients were a bit lacking compared to what I had in Nihonbashi, so this time I decided to enhance it by adding "shredded crab" and "shime ika" for an extra 100 yen each.
After a little while, my "Sea of Japan Shimane Bowl" arrived, and the upgraded version looked quite appealing due to the added toppings. Of course, the taste was also excellent. By the way, my manager, who had the "Homemade Grilled Mackerel Rice Bowl," seemed to really enjoy it as he praised it highly, which was great to see. (7 points out of 10)

I visited a restaurant specializing in Shimane cuisine that has recently moved from Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi-mae to B1F of Nijubashi Square. This restaurant is operated by RC Creative Group, which focuses on conveying the charm of Shimane Prefecture through its dining establishments.
One of the highlights is the mackerel, raised in the waters off Shimane, known for being of such high quality that it can be eaten raw! The "saba shabu," made with this mackerel, is a local dish that fishermen in Shimane used to enjoy. It's made by shabu-shabu-ing Shimane-grown mackerel along with sweet onions from Shimane, in a delicious broth—simply outstanding!
Other recommended dishes include "nodoguro sashimi," "nodoguro aburi" (grilled), and "white squid finely sliced" from the Oki Islands, all fresh seafood shipped directly from Shimane. There are also exquisite options like "Shimane Wagyu beef stew," "sake-steamed clam from Lake Shinji," and "seafood donburi."
The drink selection is also focused on Shimane, with many types of sake from local breweries, Shimane's craft beer "Beer Helun," Shimane shochu, and "Okuizumo Wine" from Okuizumo vineyard. As an antenna shop for Shimane, I highly recommend this restaurant!

Last time, I was fortunate enough to receive a comment from the restaurant saying, "If you contact us, we'll make sure to have Tenon (a favorite sake from Izumo) ready for you!" I thought, what wonderful people they are. However, on a whim, I decided to visit without any prior notice after finishing work early. I knew the mackerel was incredibly delicious, but the squid… it was so tasty as well! That was my discovery for the day. Additionally, I tried Jiu Asahi (a sake from Shimane) for the first time, and it was also delicious. I really liked its flavor. It perfectly matched what I think of as the essence of Izumo sake. While I occasionally come across Izumo Fuji or Ouryoku around here, I rarely run into Jiu Asahi. I felt very fortunate today. I can even enjoy Shichikanba when I come here. I'm so grateful, so grateful. Thank you for the meal!
