In Sapporo's Chuo Ward, Susukino, there is a restaurant called "Seasonal Kitchen Rin." It's located a bit to the west and north of Route 36, in a standalone house rather than a building. I visited on the opening day, so it was easy to spot with the flowers outside. When I entered, the place was already bustling with activity, creating a lively atmosphere, yet it had a charming and pleasant decor that raised my expectations. As I walked in, I noticed there was a small standing bar area as well. To start, the appetizers served were: simmered eggplant, simmered thick tofu with daikon radish, and Ainu leeks in white sesame paste. They had a refined, subtly mild flavor that I appreciated, heightening my anticipation for the meal. From the “just a start” section of the menu, I tried: - Chicken liver marinated in white soy sauce for ¥500, which was well-seasoned and delicious. - Salt-boiled lamb for ¥650, which was tender and flavorful in a good way, and I enjoyed the broth as well. From the “vegetables” section, I ordered: - Asparagus for ¥250 - Corn for ¥200 - Maitake mushrooms for ¥200 You can choose between grilled or tempura, and I opted for tempura this time, served with salt and grated daikon in a dashi soy sauce. Everything was delicious, but the corn was my favorite. For drinks, I had: - Hibiki Japanese Harmony served as a highball and on the rocks - Hitachino Nest Dai Dai Ale The selection of beverages was impressive, and it was nice to find that Hibiki was reasonably priced. Although they seemed a bit busy being a new opening, the atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and the owners were pleasant and welcoming. It was a lovely dining experience. Thank you for the meal! @rin_odaidokoro Hokkaido, Sapporo City, Chuo Ward, Minami Sanjo Nishi 6-1-3 #SeasonalKitchenRin #Rin #HokkaidoGourmet #HokkaidoIzakaya #JapaneseCuisine #SapporoGourmet #SapporoIzakaya #SusukinoGourmet #SusukinoIzakaya

I visited a friend who I can speak candidly with, and who is also a customer, for the first time. The shop had a refined appearance, and I had a feeling I would strike "gold." Once inside, that feeling turned into certainty. The deliciousness of the dishes and the elegance of the tableware confirmed that my expectations were not mistaken. The owner seems to have started this restaurant after having worked in various types of establishments. The name of the restaurant is part of her own name, which suggests that this might be a culmination of her past experiences. Dressed in traditional clothing, she carries herself with grace as she bends down to listen to customers. The staff were also lively and responded to the topics I brought up. We spent 4 hours and 40 minutes there, from 6:20 PM until closing at 11 PM, during which we both had about five beers each, and the total bill was less than 7,000 yen per person. Considering it was like two meals, the cost performance is excellent. Highly recommended!

They claim to collect craft beer, sake, and natural wine from all over the country, but there weren't many types of wine available. The temperature was also too cold, which was disappointing. It seems that ordering sake might be the better option at this place. The tempura dish was delicious.

Every dish was delicious! This restaurant had no misses. The warm atmosphere of the place and the owner lifted my spirits after a tiring weekday. I enjoyed grilled eggplant and shiitake mushrooms, tempura, marinated fish, and braised pork, paired with sake and seasonal sours. Next time, I want to try the mixed rice!

I was curious after seeing it on Instagram! The exterior looks wonderful, and the interior is stylish! The menu seems great too! I thought the cover charge of 600 yen was a bit high, but I was satisfied. We ordered two types of obanzai, mackerel potato salad, braised pork, grilled chicken meatballs, and fried items. Everything was delicious! The seasoning was a bit on the lighter side. It seems perfect for pairing with sake or shochu. They also have craft beer and natural wine, making it a nice place to enjoy a leisurely drink. The restaurant has just opened, but it looks like it will become popular soon!

Sapporo has a store with a unique atmosphere that was incredibly relaxing. The interior has a warm wooden feel, and both the staff and the owner are very kind and helpful. All the obanzai (traditional Japanese side dishes) were delicious, and I was able to enjoy various dishes including seasonal salads and saury. There is a wide selection of drinks, including gin, wine, and sake, as well as craft beer available.

It was my first visit. Since I was with a customer, I only took a photo of the entrance. The first floor was fully occupied, so we sat on the second floor, but ordering food and drinks went smoothly. We decided to focus on small dishes, and everything was delicious. The dishes were well-prepared, and the seasoning was just right. The counter on the first floor seems like a great spot for solo dining as well. I will definitely return!

I visited a charming restaurant where a woman in traditional attire welcomed us, perfect for a fun late-night gathering with food enthusiasts. We started with a toast over highballs. The appetizers featured a trio of "obanzai" (traditional small dishes) including burdock root stir-fry, simmered eggplant, and some kind of seaweed. Each dish paired well with our drinks, creating a wonderful atmosphere. We enjoyed various dishes, including pickled herring, bonito with ponzu sauce, chicken salt liver, and drunken shrimp, all of which complemented our drinks perfectly. The chicken salt liver, in particular, was outstanding and made for a delightful experience. Even though we were already full from the late-night feast, I could sense the chef's skill in crafting these dishes. The service was attentive and pleasant, making me want to come back for an earlier meal next time. Everything was delicious! Thank you very much!

We decided to have a meal with friends and spontaneously chose this place for our third round. The exterior has a retro-modern vibe with a touch of sophistication. Upon entering, we were greeted by a charming young woman in a traditional apron, wearing a friendly smile. This is a small Japanese-style izakaya that focuses on seasonal cuisine. The menu features a wide variety of homemade side dishes, creating a warm and comforting atmosphere, while still being reasonably priced. Even though we had already eaten quite a lot before this third round, our seasoned food enthusiasts managed to order within our limits, selecting some side dishes and sashimi. The small plates had a homemade feel, yet also possessed a certain elegance and flair. The flavor of the kinpira (stir-fried burdock and carrot) was gentle and perfectly suited to my taste. The sashimi was colorful and creatively presented, and all were delicious. The herring marinated in soy sauce had a classic, aged flavor, and the drunken shrimp had a distinctive twist, reminiscent of being soaked in Shaoxing wine. Also noteworthy was the "chicken liver marinated in soy sauce," which had a creamy texture and exquisite umami flavor—definitely a recommendation for pairing with drinks. With the food, ambiance, and service, this visit left me convinced that this place is destined to become a standout restaurant.

The view from the veranda changes with the seasons... It seems like a great place to spend time with seasonal side dishes. Not only does it have a modern and calming ambiance, but the gentle and warm service also makes it very comfortable. On this evening, the breeze was pleasant, so I enjoyed craft beer at a terrace seat. The appetizer is always a daily selection of three small dishes. It feels like the right season for it... whale meat. I wandered in... and then wandered back out... Again, it was a wonderful evening with great sake. Thank you for the meal.

This is my third stop, and I'm completely stuffed with food and drinks! The restaurant I visited is called "Rin." The second floor is beautifully lit up and looks stunning. A young woman in a kimono welcomed me at the entrance. The first floor was fully booked, so I headed up to the second floor. I ordered a soda mixed with plum wine and toasted my drink! For my appetizer, I had a platter of three types of "obanzai" (traditional Japanese home-cooked dishes): kinpira gobo (braised burdock root), simmered eggplant, and finely shredded whale bacon mixed with garnishes. There was also herring with ponzu sauce, and salty chicken liver with drunken shrimp. The liver, in particular, was delicious! The weather was warm that day, and I thought it would have been nice to sit outside at a table while drinking. I wish I could have gone there with a bigger appetite. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This time, we headed to the raised area on the second floor. The private space with a dug-out kotatsu was fantastic! The restroom is also on the second floor, which means it's a bit of a hassle to go from the first-floor seats, but you don’t have to take off your shoes! After enjoying the terrace to make the most of the last days of summer, we settled into the quiet second-floor seats, where a variety of dishes were already laid out on the table. What we had was the chicken liver simmered in white soy sauce. I've had it before, but this time it was even more tender and the best I've ever had! It was delicious! The drunken shrimp was shrimp marinated in Shaoxing wine. It wasn't overly soaked, and was just right—elegantly delicious! Again, I had the Taketsuru soda. The young, lively owner was always smiling and took great care of us. Thank you, CCC, for the attentive service! It was a real treat!

Hello, my name is Rin. It’s a cozy obanzai restaurant with delicious craft beer and a wide selection of whiskey. The side dishes, including a three-item appetizer set, herring fillet, bonito with ponzu sauce, chicken liver, and drunken shrimp, were all tasty, but the chicken liver was truly outstanding! It was incredibly rich! I love it so much that I could go just for that! The craft beer was also delicious. I went there as the third stop of the night, so I was pretty full and couldn’t eat much, but everything was great. Next time, I plan to go when I'm hungrier!

This was my first visit. They have a wide selection of drinks, from Japanese sake to natural wines and craft beers. The dishes paired perfectly with the drinks and were served in just the right amounts, allowing us to enjoy a variety of flavors. This time, I savored the drunk shrimp, crunchy bits, rare fried horse mackerel, Tosa sweet peppers, and salt-cooked shoulder lamb. The quality of the food was excellent, and I definitely want to come back. Thank you for the meal!

A restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Japanese "obanzai" dishes along with drinks. They also have Ichiro's Malt whiskey available. Each obanzai dish is carefully prepared and very delicious. Additionally, the staff's service is excellent, which made the dining experience enjoyable. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food justifies it.

On the way to our intended restaurant, we found this place and decided to use it for an impromptu pre-party! The staff in traditional attire were wonderful, and the starter dish was exciting! The selection of drinks also looked great! Since it was just a pre-party, we kept our order minimal, but next time, I'd love to order more!

Opened on May 23, 2024, this restaurant has transformed the site of the former "BUDDHA BAR 280" into a place where you can enjoy dishes made with seasonal ingredients. The menu features casual kappo-style dishes crafted by a chef who has experience as the head chef at a Japanese restaurant. The dishes provide a comforting, homey feel, as if you've returned to your family home. The appetizers for the day included: - Kinpira gobo (stir-fried burdock root) - Nasu no nibitashi (braised eggplant) - Daikon and atsuage (deep-fried tofu) stew Each dish had a gentle flavor, creating a soothing atmosphere right from the start. The tempura featured seasonal ingredients like sweet corn and mozuku seaweed, while the ayu (sweetfish) grilled over charcoal was perfectly cooked, leaving a strong impression. The rice dish, "tori hijiki kamameshi" (chicken and hijiki rice), was cooked at the table, taking about 30 minutes. You enjoy it first as it is, and for the second serving, you add dashi broth for a comforting ochazuke (rice soup). One dish that particularly impressed me was the "tori kimo shiro shoyu zuke" (chicken liver marinated in white soy sauce). The rich, creamy texture of the chicken liver was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was also incredibly relaxing, with a nostalgic playlist featuring 80s hits from artists like Shizuka Kudo, Akina Nakamori, Iyo Matsumoto, Wink, and The Checkers. It was the perfect soundtrack for the evening! The warm hospitality from the hostess, dressed in traditional attire, and the attentive staff made the experience even more enjoyable. Though young, the staff were professional and impressive. The restaurant has a stylish interior, with the first floor offering both table and counter seating, as well as a standing counter. The second floor features tatami seating with foot wells, providing a relaxed space. There's also a terrace where you can enjoy drinks outdoors. The food is great, the atmosphere is lovely, and the hospitality is top-notch. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind, this is definitely the spot. ─── **MENU (all prices include tax)** ─── - Appetizer: ¥600 - Tempura of Hokkaido corn: ¥250 - Tempura of mozuku seaweed: ¥400 - Grilled ayu: ¥1,250 - Tori hijiki kamameshi: ¥1,200 - Tori kimo shiro shoyu zuke: ¥500 - Sanma nanban-zuke (mackerel pike in sweet vinegar sauce): ¥600

A modern take on a refreshing summer atmosphere with a touch of Japanese charm. The interior and exterior are thoughtfully designed, and every corner exudes a sense of tranquility. The owner's dedication, coupled with the warm hospitality of the hostess, gradually makes you feel right at home. Though I’m tempted to enjoy a craft beer under the eaves for a summer breeze, I’m invited to sit at the counter. We toast with a cute, orange-brown beer that reflects the season, accompanied by gentle, homemade-style appetizers. As I savor these, I gradually settle into the moment. After a bit of quiet relaxation, I’m served a "chilled chicken liver" dish, and drift into a peaceful mood. The evening winds down with a single-malt highball, and the hostess thoughtfully brings out "grilled ayu" (sweetfish) to complement it, filling the air with a refreshing breeze. The leisurely pace of the evening continues. The first floor offers both counter and table seating, while the second floor features a relaxing sunken kotatsu (hearth) area where you can remove your shoes. This place seems perfect for a variety of groups – from close friends to couples, families, and larger gatherings. Everything was just great. The food was delicious. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I was guided to a table with chairs, away from the standing counter. I ordered a glass of Taketsuru Pure Malt, which was a small-sized glass. It was delicious! There was a wide selection of sake available. The appetizer was a three-item platter. I ordered: ⭐︎ Chicken liver simmered in white soy sauce - tender and very delicious. ⭐︎ Salted boiled lamb shoulder - it still had that unique lamb flavor, but was well-seasoned. I recommend this rare salt-boiled dish for those who enjoy lamb’s distinctive taste. ⭐︎ Hokkaido pork flower shumai - quite large! The skin was a bit tough, but the filling was meaty and satisfying. ⭐︎ Bonito cold tofu, topped with grilled Kochi amato tomato and shiitake mushrooms. The grilled toppings shrank quite a bit, so this turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. The staff, a very pleasant woman wearing a kimono, provided great service. It seems like a nice place for both women and couples to enjoy. The restroom is on the second floor, and since you have to take off your shoes, it can be a bit inconvenient. Thank you for the meal!

Susukino Area ◇ Hours: 17:00 - 23:00 ◇ Closed: Mondays ◇ No smoking, Reservations accepted, Credit card payments accepted I was invited by My Review to visit this restaurant♪ The charming exterior is very stylish, and I noticed a Japanese flag... Could this be a place capitalizing on inbound demand? I entered the restaurant with some apprehension. Looking at the menu, I was taken aback by the choices: "Hibiki JAPANESE HARMONY" for 850 yen!! ( ゚д゚)ハッ!! And “Hibiki BLENDERS CHOICE” for 1,650 yen❗❗ The whiskey selection is impressive and all at reasonable prices♪♪ I was surprised by the offerings and pricing for such a new establishment. My initial caution seemed unnecessary. The young male chef and the female owner provided excellent service ♡ and the enthusiastic young staff were doing their best. It’s no wonder this place is thriving since opening! There are restrooms on the second floor, along with seating for over ten people. The interior and lighting reflect a well-thought-out design. ✿ I ordered: ◆ Appetizer: Eggplant simmered in a light taste, firm texture, and a refined flavor. White miso with Ainu leek, finely chopped wild garlic added deliciousness. The stewed thick fried tofu with radish had a light seasoning, but the flavor was well-executed, making the soft radish a delightful start that heightened my expectations (*^^*). ◆ Chicken liver marinated in white soy sauce: The freshness was evident from the firm cut. There was no hint of the usual odor since the blood was perfectly drained. It was tender and flavorful, proving I had come to a place that wouldn’t mask ingredients with strong ginger or garlic. ◆ Salt-boiled lamb: It was tender while retaining some texture. I felt no unpleasant odor, and the rich flavor of the lamb was well pronounced. Despite being stewed, the meat's umami was intact, and I enjoyed the broth as well (*^^*). 【Tempura】 The photo shows three servings (same menu available for charcoal grilling): ◆ Asparagus (250 yen): Local produce, very juicy—I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of asparagus juice. ◆ Sweet corn (200 yen): Sweet! Also very juicy—quite the treat with corn juice. ◆ Maitake mushrooms (200 yen): The coating and frying technique were exquisite; it amazed me that the restaurant managed such perfect execution on its opening day. I would love to try higher quality ingredients here, even if it costs more. 【Drinks】 I enjoyed the Hibiki JAPANESE HARMONY as a highball and on the rocks. I wanted to finish with the BLENDERS CHOICE on the rocks, but I think everyone was hesitant because we were splitting the bill (laughs). I also tried the Daidai Ale and, rather than pair drinks, I ended up going for what I wanted, completely altering my plans for sake. 【Overall Review】 The taste, drinks, cost performance, service, and atmosphere were all remarkable—I highly recommend this place (*^^*). It was delicious! Thank you for the meal! ✨

There is a standing drinking counter at "Kisetsu no Odori Kotoba Rin," and the background music resonates with the retro vibe of the Showa era. Today, on their opening day, I joined some reviewers who had coincidentally arranged to come together. The drinks include Japanese Harmony from Hibiki, which is absolutely delightful! We started with a highball, then switched to it on the rocks, and I must say the on-the-rocks version is much better. They also have a great selection of alcohol, including the Hitachino Nest Dai Dai Ale, which is excellent and tasty! As for the tempura, I was tempted to order based on Instagram recommendations, but I faced a dilemma since they offered either charcoal-grilled or tempura. Ultimately, I decided to go with the tempura. For the appetizer, we had simmered eggplant, deep-fried tofu with radish, and a white sesame dressing made with Ainu garlic, along with liver marinated in white soy sauce. The soft texture indicates it was probably prepared with low-temperature cooking—very delicious! The seasoning was perfect, and it was a dish worth ordering. Next, we tried the salted boiled lamb, which had a great flavor and was tender and falling apart—another exquisite dish. The tempura included asparagus, corn, and maitake mushrooms, all of which were enjoyable! The hostess in traditional attire was lovely. On our way out, we were seen off by the chef and another staff member. I felt they must have had a busy first day, but it was heartwarming to experience their dedication and hospitality. Address: 1-3 Minami 3-jo Nishi 6-chome, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido 060-0063, Japan.
