A new restaurant has opened in Haruyoshi, Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, specializing in Jingisukan (lamb grilled on a hot plate). The restaurant features all counter seating, making it very welcoming for solo diners, but it’s not really set up for large groups. The interior has a nostalgic Showa era theme, complete with retro items and background music of Showa-era pop songs, while a TV plays skits from Ken Shimura. I visited on a weekday around 8 PM, and there were only a couple of other customers ahead of me, so it’s definitely recommended to make a reservation due to limited seating! The appetizer served was sliced konjac with wakame seaweed and spicy mustard miso dressing, which was surprisingly enjoyable, even for someone not usually fond of this kind of dish. We toasted with a Vice Sour, a drink that’s relatively rare in Fukuoka, which was a delightful surprise. They also serve Hoppy. When you arrive, it’s essential to order the Jingisukan set, priced at 1,100 yen per person. Even though other appetizers are available, this place is all about the Jingisukan! We ordered two servings of the Jingisukan right away, which included 200 grams of lamb tenderloin along with bean sprouts, onions, white leeks, and peppers. We ate the vegetables first before cooking the lamb, which is recommended to be grilled medium-rare to avoid it becoming tough. There are soy sauce and miso sauces available to dip, and you can also grind sesame seeds for added flavor. Other options like sesame salt and chili powder are available, but the meat itself is tender and of high quality—absolutely delicious! My suggestion is to try it plain at first, and the recommended seasoning is salt—using too much sauce would be a waste. We also tried the corn potato salad for 680 yen, which features potato salad with corn topped with a soft-boiled egg. It’s meant to be mixed up and is quite delicious! For the finale, we had a lamb miso soup for 390 yen. I initially wondered if it was made with lamb broth, but it turned out to be a regular miso soup filled with lamb, carrots, konjac, shiitake mushrooms, and more. It was rich in ingredients and had a gentle sweetness from the fat in the lamb—also incredibly tasty! I strongly recommend ordering this to finish your meal. Overall, this place presents a wonderfully cozy atmosphere with Showa-era music and exceptional quality Jingisukan that’s light enough to enjoy without feeling heavy like barbecue can sometimes be. It’s perfect for anyone, including older folks who might worry about feeling bloated, and great for a casual drink alone. Plus, even if you eat like this, there's no concern about gaining weight!

I wanted to eat Jingisukan, so I looked it up and visited with a friend. The meat is delicious and thick, and it's also good value for money, so I definitely want to go back. They serve wine and sake too, which is a plus. The inside of the restaurant tends to get smoky, so your clothes might smell afterwards. Also, it's a smoking-friendly place, so if that doesn't bother you, I highly recommend it. Since there's only counter seating, it's great for a visit with just two people.

Located in the heart of Fukuoka city, in Haruyoshi, “Jingisukan Yanagi” is a renowned restaurant where you can truly enjoy the deliciousness of lamb meat, open until the late hours. This establishment captivates many fans with the freshness and lack of odor in its lamb, along with warm hospitality. It’s a perfect spot for both those who love Jingisukan and those trying lamb for the first time. The standout feature of "Jingisukan Yanagi" is undoubtedly its fresh, odor-free lamb. The lamb meat served here is carefully selected, with just the right amount of fat that melts in your mouth, allowing the umami flavor to spread and satisfy. Its freshness is notable, making it easy for even those who are usually sensitive to lamb's distinct smell to enjoy this dish without concern. As it begins to grill on the plate, the savory aroma of the lamb stimulates your appetite. Additionally, the restaurant offers a variety of fresh vegetables, such as bean sprouts, onions, and peppers. The crunchy texture of the bean sprouts and the sweetness of the onions beautifully complement the rich taste of the lamb, providing a very balanced dining experience. The grilled vegetables enhance the lamb's umami, allowing for different flavor combinations in every bite, which is one of the restaurant’s charms. The special sauce is another major highlight of this place. The simple yet deeply flavored soy sauce adds to the taste of both the lamb and the vegetables, creating a rich harmony in your mouth. Dipping freshly grilled lamb into this sauce elevates the umami flavor, providing an unmatched deliciousness. Moreover, there are also salts and spices available on each table, allowing you to enjoy your meal seasoned to your liking. “Jingisukan Yanagi” is open until 6 AM, making it a fantastic spot to visit late at night. Whether you’ve been out enjoying Fukuoka’s nightlife, this restaurant is a great choice for a late-night lamb meal. Located conveniently close to the entertainment district, it’s perfect for anyone looking to fully enjoy the night in Fukuoka. Regardless of when you visit, the restaurant is lively, and the warm hospitality of the staff makes you feel welcomed. Additionally, the pickles served as a palate cleanser are exceptional. Beautifully presented with colorful cucumbers, carrots, and daikon, they refresh your palate between bites of lamb, balancing out the meat’s richness so you can enjoy your meal to the fullest. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very cozy, adorned with Showa retro decor that evokes nostalgia and warmth. The inviting space primarily features counter seating, making it enjoyable whether you are dining alone or with friends or a partner. The background music consists of popular hits from the Showa era, adding to the relaxed dining atmosphere. Finally, the pricing is very reasonable, allowing you to enjoy high-quality lamb and fresh vegetables at a great value. The portions of Jingisukan are generous, ensuring a satisfying meal that provides excellent cost performance. "Jingisukan Yanagi" combines delicious lamb, abundant vegetables, special sauce, warm hospitality, and late-night hours, making it a fantastic restaurant. If you’re in Fukuoka and want to enjoy delicious Jingisukan, be sure to visit at least once; you're sure to be charmed by this establishment.

It's very convenient because they're open until morning! The staff's service is excellent, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Since it's a lamb specialty restaurant, there are no other types of meat, but I personally recommend the lamb tongue and lamb burger! Their unique flavors are so appealing that they make you want to drink and eat more! It's easy to find, just right after the Sumiyoshi Bridge intersection.

Last time I checked, it was fully booked, but this time I made a phone reservation about 100 meters from the restaurant. I absolutely love lamb barbecue, and I was finally able to come! The interior has only counter seating, and there's a variety of somewhat niche shochu lined up on the back bar. I started with a highball while ordering a five-piece lamb meat platter, lamb chops, shoulder roast, and what they called "wasabi-dressed lamb." I was excited, waiting for my long-awaited lamb barbecue since my time in Hokkaido. After about 10 minutes, my platter arrived to start the meal. The five-piece selection was a great choice for drinks, as I got to try various cuts, and the tenderloin was especially soft and delicious! The lamb chops were also outstanding. The staff member who served me was bright and chatted a lot, making it a place I definitely want to return to. I believe that service is a crucial part of the dining experience; I wouldn't want to visit a restaurant with bad service, even if the food is good. Of course, I'll be going back to Jinrikisha Yagi! I encountered a wonderful staff and delicious lamb barbecue—what a great place! I’m completely satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I have completed my exploration of lamb restaurants in Fukuoka, but I wasn't aware of this place as it seems to have opened recently. The interior is lively with a counter where you can see the kitchen. They have a good selection of lamb cuts, and I'm happy to find items like liver and heart available. It was great for replenishing my iron levels!

On a whim, I decided to grab a drink and head home. I went to my target Chinese restaurant only to find a sign that read, "Today we are fully booked for reservations." (・_・;) So I turned around! Across the street was "Jingisukan Yanagi." Enticed by the words "Welcoming solo diners," I entered. It was 6:30 PM, and the restaurant was about one-third full. I sat at the end of the L-shaped counter and ordered the "Jingisukan Set (1,280 yen, including tax)" and a bottle of beer (Kirin) for 680 yen. There were two staff members, both looking busy but responding cheerfully. The classic lager beer arrived quickly, accompanied by a small bowl of pickled daikon. I nibbled on the pickles while enjoying my beer. As I read the cooking instructions in front of me, the Jingisukan pot was set up, complete with meat and vegetables. The staff kindly explained how to grill it, and I was ready to dig in. First, I arranged the vegetables around the edge of the pot and grilled the meat one piece at a time to a medium-rare finish. The lamb was of excellent quality, with no gamey taste at all. I tried it with two types of sauce and salt, and each way was delicious. (^^♪ Maybe it was because I had been walking around all day, but I suddenly felt the effects of the beer. Although the lamb was only 100 grams, grilling it carefully left me feeling plenty full. The food was delicious, and my spirits were high. I decided I should head home while I still had my wits about me, so I asked for the bill, which came to 2,260 yen? Huh? That didn’t match what I had calculated in my head... Was I so tipsy that I couldn't add, or had I forgotten something I ordered? When I asked for a receipt while paying with PayPay, they explained I would have to check it on my smartphone through a QR code. I had never done that before, and with my buzz, navigating the screen felt cumbersome. Just as I managed to input it, the screen showed I needed to enter a verification code. The mood I had from the delicious food began to fade as I struggled with this process. (ーー゛) Finally, when the screen displayed the details, I saw that the small bowl of pickled daikon was charged 300 yen as a cover charge. I thought it was complimentary… (--〆) After all that trouble to check, this was the outcome? I quickly glanced over the menu again, but there was no mention of a cover charge. I felt my mood drop dramatically, and my buzz faded away. (--〆) Sensing my disappointment, the staff offered me a piece of gum as I left, but honestly, it didn’t help much. While the Jingisukan itself was incredibly tasty, and the total price, including the cover charge, was reasonable, I found it especially disappointing given the staff's good service throughout the meal. If the cover charge had been clearly displayed on the menu from the start, I would have avoided this awful feeling. Well, that's my thanks for the meal.

In Fukuoka, there is a restaurant that I love for its rich selection of drinks and friendly staff. It's known for high-quality lamb meat that has no odor and abundant flavor, making it a famous place for Jingisukan. While there are similar places in Fukuoka, I prefer this one due to its prices and staff training. I feel that there's no need to go all the way to Hokkaido. Thank you for always providing a great experience!

Located deep in the main street of Haruyoshi, this Genghis Khan restaurant features a spacious counter-only layout with a modern izakaya atmosphere. The Genghis Khan set includes tender and juicy meat that has no gamey taste, allowing you to fully enjoy the unique flavor of Genghis Khan. The sauce and salt are original creations by the owner, and ground sesame plays a significant role in enhancing the dishes. They serve draft beer, specifically Ichiban Shibori. The menu is rich with a variety of options, including unique dishes made with Genghis Khan and lamb, such as sausages and hamburgers, which are not often found elsewhere. This is a place where anyone can enjoy Genghis Khan in Haruyoshi.

Visited the restaurant with a friend at night. I wonder what the nearest station is; it's about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin-minami Station. The interior has a Showa-era vibe, with old televisions playing. While the decor gives off a nostalgic feeling, it is spotless and very clean. Order: ◯ Genghis Khan Set ◎ Lamb Chop - 5 kinds assortment ◎ Tenderloin ◎ Shoulder Loin ◎ Mutton ◯ Tongue ◯ Heart Other vegetables and drinks (★: excellent, ◎: very delicious, ◯: delicious, ・: average) I stumbled upon this Genghis Khan restaurant on Instagram. We ordered the Genghis Khan set for the number of people we had and then added extra meat. The tenderloin in the Genghis Khan set was tasty, but the tenderloin from the 5 kinds assortment was even better. Personally, I found the lamb chop and shoulder loin especially delicious. The shoulder loin was quite fatty and extremely tasty, pairing perfectly with the sauce. You can grind sesame seeds and add them to the sauce yourself. The MVP among the vegetables was the bean sprouts and asparagus. The asparagus wasn’t included in the set, so we ordered it as an extra. My companion particularly enjoyed the mochi. However, we were seated in a spot where the air conditioning was blowing directly on us, causing the grill to go out repeatedly, which slowed down our cooking time. There seemed to be a luck of the draw with the seating. The meat was so delicious that I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

If you're feeling a bit heavy from greasy food but still want to enjoy some meat, Genghis Khan is the perfect option! It has less fat, is packed with nutrients, and has beauty benefits—so it's great in many ways (laughs). There's a guide in the restaurant on the five rules for enjoying the dish, ensuring it's delicious! Smoking is allowed inside, so those who are sensitive to it should be cautious ⚠️.

I visited for the first time. Since a new restaurant opened nearby, I decided to try this place tonight. The interior only has a counter. I started with a draft beer for a toast! I ordered the Jingisukan set, which includes vegetables and lamb tenderloin. The lamb tenderloin was delicious, but the mutton (shoulder) that I ordered additionally was extremely tasty! The staff was also friendly and smiled a lot. I would love to come back again! Thank you for the meal! (^^)

The lamb barbecue (jingisukan) was reasonably priced at 1,100 yen per serving! They offered rare cuts like heart and liver, which is a delight for jingisukan lovers. There were also people having a solo jingisukan experience at the counter, making it feel more approachable than solo yakiniku. The meat was tender and juicy, so I think I'm going to get hooked on jingisukan instead of yakiniku! The grilled ramen for the finale was also exquisite, so I highly recommend trying it out!

Before watching a movie at Canal, I visited a restaurant that had caught my attention for a while! I went there with a friend, and it was both of our first experiences trying Jingisukan (grilled mutton). We were both excited and a bit nervous, but to cut to the conclusion, the restaurant exceeded our expectations in the best way possible and was absolutely satisfying!!!! The meat was incredibly tender (this was a shock! Is the meat served in Jingisukan everywhere this tender and easy to eat??), and when combined with the restaurant's original sauce, it was genuinely delicious—every single piece! I ended up ordering extra lamb shoulder, but I wished I could have ordered more lamb tongue and heart too~ (*´Д`*) Both of us had just two drinks, so we didn't drink too much, but the total bill was surprisingly low (around 8000 yen). I can understand why the owner mentioned that affordability is a key feature of the restaurant (〃ω〃). We were thoroughly satisfied and definitely want to come back! I really recommend everyone to check it out~ (*´∇`*) Thank you for the delicious meal!!!!

I was intrigued by the phrase that suggested I could enjoy the experience at the counter even if I was alone, so I quickly made a reservation and asked for recommendations. I decided to follow the suggested additions as well. At first, I was worried about the smell and thought I might not like it, but the owner was very kind. As we drank together and chatted a bit, I found myself ordering more.

It's a specialty shop for Jingisukan! I visited shortly after it opened. When I ordered a set, it came with lamb loin and vegetables. Lamb loin feels quite rare... and the taste is amazing. The sauce is delicious. The added lamb tongue and lamb chop were also top-notch. The seared lamb was perfect as a snack, and the lamb miso soup to finish off the meal was exquisite. I would definitely want to visit this place again when I crave lamb!
