This restaurant boasts delicious clay pot rice served in a stylish interior. You can also feel the essence of Fukuoka, making it an excellent spot for tourists. **Store Overview:** About a 3-minute walk from Gofukumachi Station on the Hakozaki Line of the subway. If coming from Hakata Station, the nearest station is Gion Station on the Airport Line. It was lunchtime on a holiday Monday, and the restaurant was fully booked due to reservations. Reservations are a must. **Customer Demographic:** Approximately 70% of the customers were women, ranging from young people to the elderly. It seems to be popular among locals. **Order:** - Daily clay pot rice lunch set: 2000 yen → Seafood (sardine and mentaiko) - Mentaiko tasting platter (6 types): 800 yen → Mentaiko from Nakasu in Hakata **Daily Lunch Set:** The grilled sardine and mentaiko sitting in the center looks delicious. Along with the clay pot rice and miso soup, there are plenty of side dishes like bang bang chicken, vermicelli salad, kinpira gobo, pickles, and more. The sardine is tender, and pairing it with mentaiko enhances the flavor even further. Eating it with glistening, sweet rice filled my mouth with happiness. The spicy bang bang chicken, refreshing vermicelli salad, and crunchy kinpira gobo were all delicious. With so many side dishes, I found myself running low on rice, which made me laugh. **Mentaiko Tasting Set:** - Spicy mentaiko - Jellyfish mentaiko - Squid mentaiko - Cabbage mentaiko - Grilled mentaiko - Kazunoko (herring roe) mentaiko This tasting set allows you to try six different types of mentaiko. Each has its own level of spiciness and texture, making it feel like you could easily enjoy two bowls of rice just with this platter. It’s quite a luxurious experience. **Recommended for:** - Those who want to enjoy freshly cooked rice - Anyone who wants to try a variety of side dishes *Please make sure to check the restaurant's website or social media for information before your visit. The menu may be subject to change.*

I had a lunch set. I had fish (deep-fried fugu), while my daughter had meat (loin cutlet). We also added a side of mentaiko for comparison... Both the meat and fish were delicious!! The small dishes were visually appealing and tasted great as well, and the plates were beautifully crafted. The rice cooked in a donabe was also fantastic! The crispy bits were particularly delicious. It was a place that made me want to visit again! However, I wish they had offered hot tea, especially since it was a cold day.

The clay pot rice was incredibly delicious, just as I expected. The side dishes were also amazing, and since we came with four people, we ordered different dishes, and everyone was satisfied! When I come back to Hakata, I will definitely go again! I missed out on trying mentaiko, but I found a nearby store, so I ordered it for delivery. I'm looking forward to it!

Today, I arrived at "Shokudo Owan" for breakfast at 7:25, and there was one party waiting. I entered at 7:30, and by 7:35, 15 more customers had come in. Customers continued to arrive, so it was indeed full, as the sign promised. Today, I ordered the following: - Takikake donabe rice and Hakata mentaiko tasting set for 2,000 yen - Small dashi-maki tamago (rolled omelette) for 500 yen - Miso soup for 150 yen The mentaiko (spicy cod roe) came in six varieties: squid, jellyfish, kazunoko (herring roe), pickled cabbage, grilled, and regular. Four of the types added different textures, and the jellyfish was particularly memorable. The donabe rice was delicious, but there wasn’t enough rice for the amount of mentaiko provided. For men, ordering a second serving of donabe rice might be a good idea. The dashi-maki tamago was not small at all, making it a great complement to the rice. The miso soup was mild in flavor, contrasting with the intense taste of the mentaiko. I heard that it’s customary to turn the leftover mentaiko into a dashi chazuke (rice soup), but I didn’t make it that far. By the way, the cooled Yame tea was beautifully colored and had a pleasant aroma, leaving a good impression. Everyone, how about this as a memory of Hakata?

The earthen pot rice with freshly cooked rice and a mentaiko tasting set costs 2000 yen. There was a line starting at 7:30 AM before opening. Since I made a reservation, I was able to enter without waiting. The presentation is elegant and beautiful, but the taste isn’t particularly outstanding. The earthen pot rice also doesn’t have any distinctive features. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, though.

I made a reservation for lunch and visited a popular restaurant where customers were lining up one after another. For lunch, we could choose from three main options: meat, fish, or mapo tofu. Everyone chose the meat. A single serving of rice in a clay pot was provided, followed by the meal set. After raising a toast with gin soda, we began our meal. The small dishes offered a variety of flavors, and the hearty miso soup was delicious. The main dish, beef, was tender and easy to eat. Everything had a refined taste. After the meal, I appreciated the kind words, "Enjoy the LIVE," from the staff. Since we were all wearing matching tour T-shirts, it felt special. It was a small gesture, but it made me want to return again.

I heard that I could enjoy delicious freshly cooked rice from a clay pot, so I decided to stop by! The timing was perfect, and I felt so excited as I was seated. The rumored rice was shiny and incredibly sweet! For the main course, I could choose between meat dishes, seafood, and mapo tofu. Since the fish was made from an ingredient I'm allergic to, I chose the meat and mapo tofu to share with my husband. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! I’d love to try the breakfast next time!

I was drawn in by the clay pot rice that was being cooked in front of the store, so I came back without a reservation. Today's main dishes were either pork or fried monkfish, along with mapo tofu and miso soup. I thought everything was delicious, but my companion found it a bit too rich. The clay pot rice, served separately for each of us, was delicious, and the mapo tofu was different from regular tofu; it was thick and creamy. However, due to our age, I found the fatty parts of the pork a bit overwhelming.

I ordered a set of rolled omelette. The eggs were fluffy, the small dish was delicious, and the rice was fluffy and sweet, making it very tasty. I could have enjoyed just the rice on its own, but the small dish was also great, and the rice pot was gone in no time. The staff at the restaurant were very attentive, and I had a wonderful time.

必須 reservations recommended! Enjoy freshly cooked rice in a clay pot along with a fluffy dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelette) made with fresh daily dashi stock for 1,500 yen. The dish includes piping hot clay pot rice, four kinds of carefully selected small side dishes, homemade tsukudani, and Yame green tea, all of which will satisfy your eyes, palate, and heart. Additionally, you can try a comparison set of six types of mentaiko (pollock roe) for 800 yen. It's a lot for one person, as you can enjoy varieties like "grilled," "wasabi," "cabbage," "cod roe," "jellyfish," and "squid."

The lunch had a wonderful variety of small dishes, and the steak was very tender and incredibly delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also lovely, and we each got our own individual pot of rice cooked in a clay pot, which was fresh and tasty. I definitely want to visit again for lunch!

The dashimaki was delicious. I added six types of mentai, and the small dishes were beautifully presented and tasty as well. The clay pot rice was about 2.5 servings, which felt light. It made me happy from the morning. I'm full. Reservations are a must, as all the seats were booked.

I visited Owan, which I had been curious about for a long time. The lunch was a set menu for 2000 yen, with only one option available. First, I chose the main dish, which came with rice cooked in a donabe (clay pot) and several small side dishes. The main dish was mapo tofu, and it was amazing! It's definitely a good idea to make a reservation here.

The rice cooked in a traditional earthen pot was surprisingly delicious! The simmered dish was not flavored with soy sauce but had a gentle umami taste based on dashi stock. The portion size was generous, and I was very satisfied! My friend chose the meat dish, and that looked delicious as well. I would love to visit this restaurant again the next time I'm in Fukuoka! ★

I visited for lunch with my niece. For lunch, you can choose from meat, seafood, or mapo tofu. I chose the mapo tofu with soy milk, and the silky, creamy soy milk tofu was just incredibly delicious! The rice pot contained enough for about two servings and was freshly cooked and tasty. All the small dishes had great seasoning too!

It's the season for new rice, so the rice was really delicious. The small side dishes were tasty too, but today's main dish was beef stew, which didn’t quite fit in with the rest of the Japanese dishes like sashimi. It was delicious, but it felt a bit out of place compared to the other items, which was a bit disappointing.

I safely arrived in Fukuoka on a JAL flight featuring Shohei Ohtani. I made a reservation for 11 AM on a weekday and took a brief stroll around Tochoji Temple, which is associated with Kobo Daishi, before heading to the restaurant. There were customers gathering around the store, and at 11 AM, we were guided inside in order of arrival. I chose meat as the main dish and added the king's egg, a tasting of six kinds of mentaiko, and a small serving of mapo tofu. From the "lunch beverages," I ordered a rock gin soda. After a short wait, the rice was served, followed by the side dishes. The main meat dish was delicious, and the portions were satisfying—enough to fill me up on its own. The other small dishes were mainly gentle-tasting vegetables. The mentaiko tasting was enjoyable; sharing one portion between two people seemed just right. However, since I felt I might need more rice, I asked, and it turns out you can get a refill for a fee. I finished the first bowl of rice with the meat, mentaiko, and small dishes. The mapo tofu, while okay on its own, wasn’t to my personal liking as a rice accompaniment. For the refill, I focused on mentaiko and the king's egg and polished it off. The egg mentaiko rice bowl (TKG) was really tasty. I settled the bill using PayPay and then explored the surrounding temples before heading back home.

Hello, I'm Umami-chan! 😊 Today, I visited "Shokudo Owan," a restaurant just a 4-minute walk from Gofuku-machi Station in Fukuoka. The restaurant's concept is to "experience the seasons and savor the ingredients," making it a dining spot dedicated to high-quality ingredients for adults. I ordered the ☑️【Breakfast】 Steamed Rice from a Donabe (Japanese earthenware pot) and a Dashimaki Tamago (Japanese rolled omelette) set made with freshly caught, first-dashi eggs for ¥1500 (tax included). The fluffy and tender dashimaki tamago uses "Kikou Tamago," the "king of eggs," sourced from Kurate, Fukuoka Prefecture. These high-nutritional-quality eggs are rich and offer a delightful umami flavor! It's no surprise that this luxurious omelette has people queuing up daily, and reservations are a must on weekends and holidays! The small side dishes served alongside the omelette are also incredibly tasty, but the standout is the freshly steamed rice, which reminds you just how great it is to be Japanese! 😂 By the end of the meal, I was pleasantly full. Eating a relaxed and hearty breakfast truly sets a positive tone for the entire day! You won't regret standing in line for such delicious food, so I highly recommend you check it out! ~ ~ ~ Store Information ~ ~ ~ "Shokudo Owan" 9-20 Reizenmachi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City Hours of Operation: Breakfast: 7:30 AM - 10:00 AM Lunch: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Dinner: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM 💁‍♀️: About a 5-minute walk from Gion, Gofuku, Nakasu-Kawabata, and Kushida Shrine Mae Stations; about a 4-minute walk from Gofuku-machi Station. I had heard that reservations are a must, so I made one right when the restaurant opened and visited during the first lunch seating. I was a bit torn between choosing meat or fish for my main dish, but I went with the simmered fish based on how I was feeling that day. The freshly cooked rice from the clay pot was absolutely delicious! As a Japanese person, I really appreciate good rice! I considered adding some mentaiko (spicy cod roe), but since I also planned to have additional rice from the clay pot, I decided to hold off on extra orders to avoid overeating. Thank you for the meal; it was very tasty!

I made a reservation for 11 AM on Sunday and arrived a bit after that. I was shown to my seat and could choose from three main dishes. The clay pot rice was served at 11:15. After that, the other dishes started coming out. I was really hungry, so the wait felt long. I wonder if we could order the main dish while waiting outside the restaurant? That would be more efficient, I think. The person next to me received their rice at 11:30. I had some complaints about the waiting time before eating, but my main dish was a simmered dish of yellowtail collar. It was incredibly delicious—there was no fishy smell and the seasoning was to my liking. I wanted to drink all the broth because it was so tasty. I also had tofu with yuzu pepper, which was a creamy type of tofu and very good as well. Next time, I think I’ll try the mapo tofu. The staff were very nice. On rainy days, you might get wet.

[Lunch] - Freshly cooked rice from a earthenware pot - Miso soup - Choose a main dish (meat/fish/self-made soybean milk tofu with mapo tofu) - Five types of carefully selected side dishes - Main dish is Yame tea. I chose the meat for the main dish. The main is, as expected, delicious, and the side dishes pair well with the rice, creating a great balance overall. The portion is quite generous, so I'm completely full!
